What is a "circle"

Google it? Not a great tip, lol. They mean arcane circle. Tis a spell for spellweaving.

Yeah, this is one instance where Google is no help at all.
Even if you used circle ultima online or something, the term circle has several meanings in this game!
Arcane Circle, the right answer as you have pointed out, is only the 3rd or 4th hit.
Granted, if they had told him to Google [arcane circle ultima] or [circle spellweaving ultima] that would have done the trick.
Google is a funny sort of resource. It works best when you know a little about the topic already, and when you know nothing about the topic it is too-often of no help whatsoever.

Not really though. It has nothing to do with superiority. If that's the first thing that comes to your mind when you see people say this then you're misunderstanding their reason for doing so and reacting in an overly emotional manner.
If someone says this to you, it means there's a high probability that the information you seek is easily accessible via a web search and serves as a wake-up call to the person that putting in a little bit of effort into searching for things themselves, rather than being reliant on others to constantly spoon-feed information to them, is preferable; both for themselves and the community. They may learn more about the topic they've been told to search on too if they bothered to go look it up for themselves. Often people telling others to search for something have the search up themselves and can see exactly the ease in which information on the topic can be acquired.
As it happens, a typical search for the terms specified by the original poster link to the Arcane Circle page on UOGuide as the third entry down, with additional information about the crafted Arcane Circle just below it. It probably isn't that hard to figure out what "circle" was referring to after reading that. Would you deem that information too difficult to find by yourself?

As explained by the OP in another UHall post, he or she is a player returning after some years away from UO.
With no frame of reference beyond a chat channel request to make a circle, I'm not surprised he/she thought to ask here.
Any which way you view it, "google it" was not a helpful suggestion.
Without inputing helpful search parameters, eg "arcane circle," which the OP was unable to furnish, a google search elicited little in the way of useful information as Galen mentioned.
I'm glad that others here were kind enough to offer the info Kaladin needed and I'd certainly have done so had others not preceded me.
UO could do with more returners, not fewer.

You obviously didn't click the search link in my post, or you'd have noticed the only term I used was "uo circle" to bring up immediate links to the relevant UOGuide pages which, after reading, are obviously the most relevant to the context in which "circle" was being used.
Anyone claiming Google isn't useful here is simply incorrect. It provides exactly the information the OP was looking for. Being told to "Google it" was valid and helpful advice, as I've proved.

UO no longer has a manual, so you can't RTFM. Also, UO Guide's entry deals only with the ML description, not the colloquial. It's a six-year old description, and since outdated. It be like reading a paper from 2005 to figure out today's weather. There's no mention, for example, of EMs or West Brit Bank. Google is fail in this situation.
I did read your links; do you have any proof the responder in the original post has any reason at all to claim to be a "Hacker"? Because your first two links are only valid if either you, or he accept the premises and cultural baggage that comes with that term. Otherwise there's a number of other perspectives that can be applied.
For instance, you may wish to "RTFM" of normal people to discover that they like to converse and share information, and would sooner ask or hear a question from another flesh and blood person, as they are more concerned with forming bonds with relationships between people; rather than applying a cold, and abstractly unimportant sense of control over detail and time. And that when people state that the technology-rich, people-poor attitude to information is considered rude and irrelevant, to "Not Be A Loser" and continue to assert arrogantly other standards than the ones they themselves appreciated apply. Because you're not addressing the real reason they didn't go to Google, are you? They wanted to talk to people.

The spell weavers have a club, with it's own ling-go. What they mean is they need a GM level or above spell weaver to come join them at the club house, Why? .. i don't know what the club does there i'm only in my 60s myself maybe they play cards or something i'm not sure

I have no idea what you mean with the EM reference; you'll have to explain that one. But I added some notes in the description about WBB and the colloquial terms.

Wasn't a knock against UOGuide--I could have edited it if I wanted if that was the case--I just hate people who encourage anti-social behavior like "google it," especially in a largely dead game like UO in which player interaction may keep new players around. EMs made the WBB circles btw, heh.
