I like it but probably keep it limited to smaller homes like max would be 10x10, and players with grandfathered homes, maybe allow them the option to relocate one of the houses

Speaking of houses...allow us to have:
*Exterior steps on the east face of the plot.
*Animated water/lava tiles and falls as part of the custom house menu.
*House pets that roam around the plot.
*Bannisters that can be placed on stairs (without turning orange rolleyes: )
Though this list wouldn't be something to add for the 13th year vet,it just something I would like to see added.

A crafting kit that lets you make a mini-house deed based on the design of the house you are standing in when it is used.
That would be cool
Perhaps I am wrong, but I have the impression that the Developers are well past the brainstorming and ideas making session....
Perhaps they can "fine tune" what they already come up with, add some "extra bonuses" to the already designed and coded Rewards but I really doubt that at this point they can add anything new.
Of course, I would not mind seeing surprises and new, unexpected Rewards be added at the very last minute.......

I was hoping this would be a 13th. Heck I would even pay for it at this point. I was thinking like a sneaky dev and kind of worked out this order:
13th year = house token to entitle an account to place a second house on origin. If origin was your main, your account would be entitled to place a second house on any other shard. Limit 1 use per account. This would definitely give origin more testers when a new pub was rolling out.
14th year = house token to entitle an account to place a second house on any other shard than the shard holding your first account. It will stack with 13th year rewards however you can not place two houses on the same shard. Limit 1 use per account. This would promote x-shard activity (and token sales)
15th year = house token to entitle an account to place a second house on the same shard. Limit 1 use per account.
Something that makes what ever ethy were are using not take a control slot... Or just something that gives us an extra one? Gargs get mounted 5 pets so do ninja... its kinda lame us vets grew up with like 40 dragons following us around now a days we get one *Sighs*... I can deal but hell Id love to have a sweet ride when i have a pack of 5 cats out... or my changeling dogs... I do rather like the bike idea and it would make a ton of sense not to use a control slot... perhaps a bit slower then a mount but I'm not sure how practical that is....
I also kinda like the mini house making tool but i expect its not as practicle as we would like either... how about a magic saddle that turns what ever we put it on into a normal mount? *Wants to ride a bunny* or um....
something that does something for gods sake... 13 years and i just get another mount that has no benefit that because of the problems with tc i cant even see yet... *Shrugs* The amazing ethye _____ with super farting powers give it "Trick" with no cool down LOL seriously something....

or a mount that makes u stealth and cant talk while on it or attack until you get of it or maybe not even able to see other people... LOL hard to abuse if u cant see the people your abusing HAHA
I like the house idea alot too how many 13 yr old vets we still got now any way... Even if its gota be on another shard I can deal with that..
or honestly What I don't get is you keep adding more lower level rewards and when I first started getting vet rewards I was getting more then one a year I thought it increased each year How about we just get more for being older... so we can get some of the cool new crap you keep adding with out being punished for it...
how about a magical land see horse mount? sure it can fly i don't care half the stuff in this game doesn't make sense these days why do things need legs to walk on land? LOL art already exists i know you cant fix the Z problem that's fine... give us the art any way... really though only 1 option for a 13th year reward is lame.... throw out some more creative ideas...
Box that once an hour lets us open our bank box from any where... and make checks if your near it... when its locked down...
The timer tied to the box not to the player so if you had somehow managed to get a bunch of thee u could run a bank form your house.. or just something that let us make banks at our house totally not unbalanced these days no one cant quick travel somehow any more... make it have to be locked down this would encourage player run businesses like casinos, auctions, and things...
Ok I'm done hopefully other people will come up with good ideas and maybe the devs will see um... =) many of these would be easy really the bank box would be super easy... bank box access would be no harder then hitching posts...

Well... a basement would be nice.
I wouldn't mind a "stable" or "paddock" section for houses. These would allow you to keep up to 3 of your pets. You get charged the same stable fee per day and the pets are kept "happy".
The reason? The pets can wander freely as if they were out in the wild within the stable or paddock fences. They would be non-attackable, non-accessible (perhaps resources, but that would need discussion) (gold-name). They do not count against your stable slots. If you deed the paddock or drop the house, the pets are released.

Yep like we need the housing spaces filled with 30 houses (hello multi-accounts) for only one player behind. It contributes to the living aspect of the game.

I always thought a ghost mount would be cool. A mount that you can ride when your dead. After doing the long walk of shame around the wilderness mount less, looking for a healer for all these years, it would be cool to be able to do it on a mount for once
13th vet reward should definitely give the vet a tiny bit more edge in PvP.

7c. Glass Repeating Crossbow of Shattering.
All Glass weapons only has 5 charges. And must be recharged by NPC Tinker. Can only carry one glass weapon at a time.

I am sure most of us would like to be able to place a second house but I don't think it would be a good business decision for them. If I can place a second house on my home shard, especially a full sized one, I would be closing "house" accounts as I am sure many others would too.
However, I think something like Gheeds idea might be something they would consider (even though personally I don't really want a house on another shard). Of course the 15th year house on your home shard would probably have size restrictions.

Along with the clothing you can put +20 of a certain skill of your choosing and change it whenever you like within a log-out zone. Or perhaps there can be a selection of stats that you can edit and change for int, dex, stam, with a cap so it isn't too overpowered.

yeah but we can only ride them in the forums. Seriously how'd someone think up a llama before a donkey? it'll be the new llama, the low rider of the uo world.
I've said this before the basements don't need to physically be "under" your house... They could put them all on one big server like Green acres is... on one large area it could be one huge black area and everyone could have a "hatch" or hole with a ladder sticking up from it.. or something that you could "step" on and it would act like a teleporter and whisk you away to your "basement/dungeon" area.
This area would have a special "custom" menu that included some dungeon walls..... and depending on the size of your home.... such as say if you have a home that is "max storage" you would get an 18x18 plot to custome... if your home was smaller you would get say a 12x12 space to custom..... and if you had a castle or keep it would be 32x32...
Each "basement" could come with say for the 32x32 2200 lockdowns the 18x18 would have 1800 and the 12x12 would have 1200 extra lockdowns for you.
But I think this would be better as a "booster" pack sold for 19.99 or something. The booster would give you the deed for a "hatch" and depending on what size house you put it in it would give you that size plot....
Now say if your house fell or you relocated you would have to empty your "basement/dungeon" before you could collapse your home and if you had one of these deeds and your house "fell" the contents of the basement would drop in a chest under the house sign basement deed would be lost...
But I think you get the idea. This would be like adding a second "home" or bonus storage but without just packing more into one space above ground... and on an entirely separate server area it wouldn't add to the lag around your house.
But that's just my opinion on that.

I could be completely off base here, but I'm guessing that having Tons of Player basements on another server would be extremely taxing on Said server.
An example of this is Server lines (Where you transcend database servers).
Server Lines split up the UO Facets to give more "breathing room" to each server so that the individual server isn't hosting a necessarily huge amount of players at any given time.
Basically making a "Green Acres" server then filling it with the millions of Items that players would collect in their basements, while also having to tie each individual house to that players specific basement, sounds like a potential nightmare. (As houses/items are currently divided up between their respectable server lines)
However, with new technologies/ect, I could be completely wrong and it might be as simple as introducing a new top of the line server into their database with specific configurations..
( Hopefully I'm not wrong about any of that information thus making myself look like a Fool, we'll see
)

Wouldn't know and couldn't tell you. I do know that houses only draw the outside and don't load until you get on the steps... perhaps basements would be the same way and only the outside would be there and they wouldn't load until you entered them. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if it were as "simple" as I suggested we probably would have them by now. But since we don't it might be quite a bit more complicated than that.

And just give us an option for larger plots. And I LOVE the stable idea.
Holding all your houses is why half you mooks are paying for 17 accounts each. Realize that they are NEVER going to let an account hold more than one house for exactly this reason.
