10/15/2010 03:04 AM at that date and time it has been or very close to 24 hours since which a nice email ig ot told me it would be looked at within that time.
it still stands that uogamecodes has $59.96 of my money pending which is $45 more than i was intending to spend.
why if the website told me it wouldnt accept my card did it cause my money to be pending on my account?"

I've heard of others having that problem, although so far I've not hit it. I remain confident it's nothing your bank is doing, it's the incompetent way the website is handling data that comes back to it from the card issuers.

The problem is the UOGamecodes website. As ever.

take control, Call the credit card company NOW and protest the extra charges. There's no reason someone else gets free use of your money for a 'couple of days', that's BS!. Don't admit any fault,don't go into details, say you ordered on-line and and were billed extra times for the One item, and leave it at that. At this point with all the screw ups, I say F* 'em, it's all about Me.

Used Sinclair many years ago, they were pretty good - but naturally, being a business, they charge extra than buying direct from EA, and of course that just lets EA off the hook when we find ways around their incompetence, so I'll not be using Sinclair this time round.

Meanwhile just checked again, and UOGamecodes still rejects my card. Can't say I'm surprised, they really don't give a damn about fixing problems, no matter who points them out, even when it's another part of supposedly the same company.

Keep at it, might work again some day, in the meantime write emails to them to buy gametime and a code.

I'm more in the mode of sending emails, logging customer service problems, and raising it on these forums and others in order that EA get off their idle backsides and make their own website work like any competent online sales system would.

They have got away with pathetically low standards for years and this is just another case of them trying to duck their responsibilities to customers. Long past time they changed.... so lets see if the newest producer can make more impression on the company than his predecessors ever did.

Okay, I was away for the weekend, so no chance to play UO:HS anyway.

Until then, I only managed to mail the support and hoping that they would send me codes somehow.
My last mail to them was something along those lines:
Dear (supportguyname),

as I stated already *twice* in my mails to you, I CANNOT order from uogamecodes.com because the shopsystem WON'T LET ME - I always get error #31 (I should call EA and order via telephone - but I'm located in Europe and I won't spend additional money to call you, because you are not able to sell codes through uogamecodes.com to me!)

Now, I would still like to order my two codes for Ultima Online: High Seas, as I am able to do this as it is described in your knowledge base too.

So - please send me those codes now!

After the response from him I wrote back a detailed explanation what I was doing and what I was trying to do on uogamecodes.com:

Let me tell you some details about my problem, that I can't order the new "Ultima Online: High Seas" codes from uogamecodes.com.

I try to order from uogamecodes.com with the following setup:

1) Internet Explorer/Firefox (anti-ad/block/filter programs disabled)
2) on Windows XP and Vista
3) with 2 different MasterCards and 1 Visa card
4) from Europe (Switzerland; and yes, my IP matches exactly my country!)
5) the last time an order from support.ea.com me was successful was in January 2009, the incident number was: [thenumber]. Back then, I tried to order "Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss". And yes, back then, I got some codes from the support team for my two accounts!
6) the last time my DIRECT uogamecodes.com/online orders were successful were in January/April and August of 2009. You may look them up with the following order IDs: UOGC-numbers1 (January), UOGC-numbers2 (April) and UOGC-numbers3 (August).

So... please - can I get my codes now?

Conclusion: I am glad that somehow it did work out again over support.ea.com, but I hope that this will not be the standard procedure for me every time a booster pack or an addon is going to be published ... !

It would be just nice if I was able to order GTC or stuff directly from uogamecodes.com again *sigh*...

Good you got something sorted out - and really, it illustrates that the problem is at UOGamecodes and nowhere else, since the card you actually used to pay is fine with the rest of EA who don't think it's stolen, being used for fraud, or any nonsense about 'not matching your address'.

So why can't UOGamecodes realise that is true? They are part of EA, but apparently disinterested in taking money for their company even when it's from card other parts of EA think are fine and have been used before on their useless website. Their procedures are clearly faulty - and they apparently don't care.

Still waiting to hear any sort of explanation why this is happening..... presumably Cal got the same disinterested complacency and string of vague excuses his predecessors got from UOGamecodes.

UO has been in trouble from a developing point of view since uhm the Ilsh client failed?

And for EA UO does hardly exist, Warhammer hardly exists anymore, SWTOR is where the money is. Imagine 1 million expected subscriptions!
If the SWTOR subscription page is like the UO one I am sure they will not manage that.

I called all kinds of phone numbers after that and when I eventually fell on someone that spoke english (took 2 hours and lots of long distance fees) he told me to try again later (after 30 minutes of wait on that line alone).

I still don't have SA, forget about high seas ! I already paid the price of the expansion in long distance fees.

You just have to be persistant with the emails.
It has the same system as the UO GM system.
You need to find someone who actually knows what UO is to help you.

I called all kinds of phone numbers after that and when I eventually fell on someone that spoke english (took 2 hours and lots of long distance fees) he told me to try again later (after 30 minutes of wait on that line alone).

I still don't have SA, forget about high seas ! I already paid the price of the expansion in long distance fees.
Maybe EA just don't like you for some reason. I am in the UK and can't use the code site for the same reason most others can't. So I emailed EA support and requested a code and within a short space of time I had one! [see time stamps for email thread below].

Very quick, easy and simple!

You can buy anything that is on the UO code site this way as well! So why would players continue to try and use a site that is obviously broken, unless it was to supply them with an excuse to come on UHall and whine!

Yeah I suppose I'm a special case, since they deleted my veteran chars and provided no reason exept "we needed space on our servers"... service went downhill after that moment since I was insisting.

I refuse to deal with any brokers for the same reason I refuse to play on free shards, even if I prefer the classic playstyle.

If EA dosen't want me, I'll do like the others, I'm off.

Maybe EA just don't like you for some reason. I am in the UK and can't use the code site for the same reason most others can't. So I emailed EA support and requested a code and within a short space of time I had one!
Because you had a credit card registered against your UO account. For some reason nobody will explain, if you have one of those EA can use those details to take money to pay for High Seas - whereas exactly the same card is rejected by another part of EA, UOGamecodes.

UOGamecodes have managed to break the system for accepting perfectly valid cards that they accepted without any issues up until the middle of last month.

The problem is clear - the card is perfectly acceptable because it's on one EA database already, but is rejected even if previously used on UOGamecodes because UOGamecodes does NOT work properly.

But apparently nobody at EA gives enough of a damn to actually fix it....

Heck they could setup a yahoo store to sell them and it would work just fine. It takes 30 minutes I did it once and security is guaranteed.

I dunno why they work like that...

Perhaps they're a kind of electronic mafia and doing games is their hobby :lol:

I have something funny to add. I get the same processor error #31 errors - and yes, I tried several credit cards and one of them is perfectly accepted for standard-account-subscription billing by EA. My incident has been "escalated" to... well... some higher form of a human being I guess. They asked me to send in details about my person (as previously stated in this thread), asked me for a screenshot, which I provided them. And now I get this funny reply:

As a next troubleshooting step, try the game after performing a clean boot as described in How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state. If the issue persists, please try creating a new admin account to run the game as described in ANSWER.

I cannot understand, for the life of me, WHY they want account informations and even one's own date of birth for a PURCHASE.

I mean, one is not buying alcohol or else that requires age verification....
Besides, I have purchased other things over the internet using the credit card and that I can remember of, I do not recall being asked my age for other purchases....

And the account infos, what if one is buying it as a GIFT to a friend ?

I can understand they want to make sure the buyer is the owner of the credit card being used but for that, account infos and age are not needed.

This is a direct result of farming out their customer service to companies with unknowledgeable staff.

If you wont put boxes on shelves then atleaste make sure we can buy it online before releasing boosters.

Account due for renewl in a week and im allready starting to debate wether i should bother or not.

2010, EA operate a vast online game and online company and you cant sort out something as simple as selling a product.
I would have been sacked by now.

Not been able to use gamecodes site for ages, same error. Its all very well saying use the pay by cash or the EA store, but you cant get everything from these sites.

I desperately need the 7th Char and Bank storage so I can trf a house to an account of mine. I've tried every browser, all of my different cards, but it never works. The site is a shambles, in my opinion of course!

Now I've even tried a separate internet connection, same issue. I use to be able to buy game codes at work but thats now been blocked. Not happy, please can the Dev's help!

After some major digging I came up with a customer support # for the EA store. 1-650-628-1001 open 7:00 am - 7pm PST, 7 days aweek I hope this will help people. they were good to me and helped me get my HSA code.

My gripe isn't with the inability to purchase the booster, just the poor website we have to use to give EA our rl gold. I got the booster through the EA store, but most items are not available through these means.

I am in desperate need for the 7th Char and bank storage upgrade, can only get this from gamecodes.

Cal certainly helps if he can, PM him... and keep hassling the 'Customer Support' people, it took me responding to three useless replies from someone who clearly had no clue at all what UO was before my issue got raised to someone who was prepared to find out and try address the problem.

Sad that so much work is needed from the customer though, there's no way it should end up being Cal's problem that the website is a failure and it's unforgiveable that EA make paying them money so damn difficult.....
