Have been noticing the last 2 days people are leaving their boats blocking the Serp Pillars. Any way you can increase the area of "porting" to The Lost Lands or put the same moving of boats timer that exists at the Sea Emporium.

As of yet we're not having a problem with the Serpents Pillar on my shard but too many people are docking and leaving boats at the docks making it increasingly harder to get too. Strange thing is that alot of the older boats are placed there as well, not sure what to think about this. I don't understand why this is going on, some people get their jollies in the oddest ways... The ports are really too small for us to dock. I'd suggest buoys like around the Floating dock but even that is starting to get complicated, people not wanting to get to far away from it so they can have an easy recall point.. Or are you just assuming that our infatuation with this new booster will be over soon enough and the problem shall resolve itself? I can only think that won't be the case, people get their jollies in the oddest ways... I'm just going to park my boat by land and hope for the best, not like parking a boat at a port will keep the pirates away, or will it? Ok I've said my peace, back to sailing the seas of Sosaria.

Any ships left unattended for more than 30 minutes should be
sunk, and any stuff left on it is lost forever..:thumbup1::thumbup1:
This sounds good but would never happen.
They would cry enough to make a new ocean..

There are two sets of pillars, one east of Trinsic 111°37'S 116°26'E and one west of Jhelom 145°22'S, 63°46'W, are both blocked?

Also, you don't have to be right at the dock to deliver fish. I've left my boat as far away as beside the Lyceum in Moonglow and off the coast of East Brit.

I also have noticed the serpent pillars getting blocked. Both of them are not neccisarily blocked at the same time, but who wants to sail all the way around to the 2nd one just to find out that it just might be blocked too? Yes the docks are getting clogged up. You can recall to them from quite a distance, but it does make it more difficult if you are trying to purchase some salt peter, and you end up getting too heavy to move with it, if you miscalculated what you can carry. I myself would like to see it where there is a timer on each dock, or serpent pillar "like" the floating docks. But either way, I'm going to keep playing!

I can think of no legitimate reason to park by those pillars.

I wonder - can you scuttle them and move them?

ROFL, sorry to laugh Petra Fyde, but since when did peeps in UO need a legitamate reason to do anything! I think it is just a matter of lack of common curtisy in this day and age. Or some peeps are just spiteful? Or just because they can......

oh I don't mind you laughing. There is no legitimate reason, it's just an act of childish spite. I have no patience whatsoever with people who's idea of 'fun' is to disrupt, hamper or outright ruin someone else's gameplay.

Could it be if it has something to do with a quest? The reason I ask since I dont have the booster is, I'm thinking they dont want to sail to each destination if they are repeating quests. Maybe thet are teleporting to parked boats with the fish instead of sailing? Like I said, I dont have the booster so just throwing out some thoughts.

I use my "other" toon that has the "older" boat to park it near the seaport or whatever you call it.
I can then use my "main" to hit the key, move the boat close to get whatever I need from there and then reposition it a short distance away.
Since theres no recall to it, and no dry-docking main boat cause hold is full or quest is active, and rowboats take 23 hours to go from moonglow to there, its all I got.
Some may have just decided to leave "older" boats parked a little closer to facilitate access to seaport.
Highly doubt its "jollies" to "most", yet there is that small part of uo customer base that..........nm!

So, no chance in a thousand years that someone lost CONN, lost POWER, Lost CONSCIOUSNESS, lost BLADDER control, and said poster/ranter has the patience the size of a flea's ear wax?

Wow...no legit reason.:gee:
Bad day at the office, since you normally have a more cool and level headed tude than this?

Take 6 of these.....:pint:.......sometimes its what the doctor ordered!
Peace.

I feel that around the pillars or at city docks, there needs to be a 5X decay, so if you park your boat at a city or access area you move on with your business and not use ships as a tool to block access to other areas, GM's remove boats from Terra when they block beach access, but will not move these new boats, so making decay accelerated to destroy the boat in 1 day in facets that they cannot be damaged by players should be implemented. No refreshing/repairing none of that bologna in accelerated decay areas. There should be a check that if it is a passing boat decay does not apply but if it is stagnant for more than 15 minutes decay sets in and can only be stopped by moving the ship to a non accelerated area.

you misunderstand me KoolaidAddict. People parking within reasonable reach of the seamarket is understandable, indeed provision is made for it with the bouys.
People surrounding the serpents pillars so that no one can use them is not understandable - not to me anyway.

LOL

Something a little less destructive than this would be appreciated though. A five to ten minute {with 10 being MAX} timer once you cross a line into the port. If you are not back outside that line within the alloted time you are put in the middle of the sea. If you can't conduct what little business you have to do in that amount of time then something is wrong.

Also, I agree some of the folks could have just lost conn in the areas and are not there to harrass everyone. They could even be the type that go out of their way normally to help people out and not cause a problem. However, the in game mechanics are making things difficult when that is the case. It should be kind of easy to throw a timer on a boat that starts clicking as soon as you come into a 10 tile area of a dock or pillar. Timer hits zero, boats gone somewhere else.
