Maybe they're going to release the gifts when the booster is released?
Maybe they're going to release the gifts when the booster is released?
LoL, well I certainly won't go as far as "screw gifts at this point". In fact it was my question about Halloween events that got an all around eye roll at the TownHall, and Cal and Mesana both went on record farther than that saying "you'll get your gifts"*as to a wayward child* when what I really wanted was for them to go on record one way or another regarding whether dev time would be made available for the seasonal staples we have enjoyed so much over the last five years.Maybe they're going to release the gifts when the booster is released?
This isn't about gifts, screw gifts at this point... It’s about the continual lack of any sort of follow-through with what Cal says and reality.
A simple anniversary message on the Herald would have satisfied most everyone. They couldn't even manage that. It’s pathetic.
This booster wasn't supposed to consume 110% of their time, other things were supposed to get accomplished concurrently. Obviously that was complete and utter BS.
That was when the game was worth playing.Wonderful HAppy Birthday UO and The original OSI group where ever you. The bad part about it all is the now existant dev's and designers have either forgotten or do not care about there own product that they work on everyday and support! Kinda like one of us forgetting our spouse's birthday not a good thing to let happen !! TADOW !!
For all those old school Players here is a small walk down memory lane !!

lag so bad it would take a hour to walk from the moongate to the bank in brit.
dread lords with uzi bow hacks (hahahahaha)
Your not alone kiddo!! This house has had 5 computers going at once and all were on uo running amuck!! We need more family time in UO!!!! best way to have fun and teach values of the family.Years ago we were a 3-generation family playing UO. Still are, just less playing...
My sister's daughter started in her teens, my sister and my parents played.
It’s always been funny when I talk in game about my Mom or Dad and then I get "kid" comments towards me. I’d just laugh and tell em, umm I’m 30+ Mom and Dad are in their 50’s. The best was when some pkiddie was smack talking my Mom and kept calling her a punk azz kid.
My Dad now 71 still plays this game every day. Mom still likes to work but she’s setup just out of arms reach and still logs some serious game time. Yeah there used to be some physical abuse towards each other when one of them died, rofl!! It’s hilarious hearing some 60’s 70’s year olds yelling where the H*ll was my heal?!!?
I hope I can be enjoying this game or a new version of it in my 70's!
Who is Cal?
The thing is, I'm quite sure they have read this, are aware that the 13th anni has come and went, but now will probably look even more like fools if they suddenly say 'Oh yeah... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'. I'd encourage everyone to PM James_Mythic. I can assure you that he has seen this thread, but I think sometimes when people don't want to tend to something they need some prodding.Another day and still nothing on UO.Com
There were 11th year vet reward things... Well, the vet rewards were a year late... so *shrugs*
But yeah, due to the booster (that was brought about as to NOT divert attention from other events/ content/ etc) that is exactly what is happening. And, of course, we all know by the beta testing that having Oct 12th as the firm release date just means the booster will be as 'polished' as the EC or SA. It'll be another halfway released thing from them... par for the course. Again.
God help us. rolleyes:
Again, all I can urge to people is DO NOT SUPPORT THE BOOSTER PACK. As consumers, we should not accept this low level of quality.
what are the 13th year vet rewards?
The GDC Online Awards Hall of FameThrowing some more fuel on the fire here, but I think you're all wrong.
I distinctly remember getting my pre-order charter edition box in october - around the 2nd week. It's been a while.
I believe beta peeps had access early but the real opening day would not have been that time/date.
Just sayin'
Petal, they subtract 1997 from 2010 and get 14. You quote them for reliable data? The persistent world installment for the seminal Ultima game franchise, which launched on September 25th, 1997, has now been operating for almost 14 years – and was a key part of the wave of late 1990s subscription-based MMOs which brought the genre to much wider attention.

This is the only place I know of were everyone expects a present from the one having the birthday.
My thoughts exactly.Petal, they subtract 1997 from 2010 and get 14. You quote them for reliable data?
No, I was not in beta and I logged in as soon as the servers opened. I wrote a note in my UO guide that they had shipped the pre-orders on Sept 25th. My memory is that they opened the servers on the 27th to allow for the 2 days of shipping so as to allow as many as possible to start playing on the first day.Throwing some more fuel on the fire here, but I think you're all wrong.

They gave a launch date and if you add in all the testing prior to launch then yes UO has been around for almost 14 years and still going. My thoughts exactly.Petal, they subtract 1997 from 2010 and get 14. You quote them for reliable data?
Actually, I know of several companies give out 'presents', 'parties', etc. to people on their anniversaries/ birthdays. This is the only place I know of were everyone expects a present from the one having the birthday.
14 years is not that wrong. My thoughts exactly.
