A Sciptor in the Cavern of the Discarded

A scriptor has been running in the Caverns since I've returned for the past month or so. Believe me, it's not hard to tell it's a script when the character returns to the exact same four spots through the exact same steps. If nothing hits him for a short period of time, he runs to the next spot and never loots the kills, even the reknown. I just finished killing off the reknown that got away from him, and he ran on.

Is there anything I can do?

OH... to answer the question that comes up, ya it does affect my game play, and YA I do care because it is cheating.

Yes you are allowed to page on them, and in fact, if you want my opinion, you should page on them. You go to your main game menu, the one with the exit the game option on it, and choose "Help". Then you choose the "Someone is harassing me using game mechanics" option, submit your message explaining the situation, and target them.

Unless he thinks he can gain skill down there but that strikes me as extremely risky.

I've seen huge amounts of Essences of Balance for sale of late; any chance he's got his script set up to loot only that?

This is likely the only spawn in the Abyss that one can safely script to that degree, now that I think about it.

It's a fully developed swordsman... he's not here for skill gain. I'm looting all the gold and ML gems... I haven't seen any essences, but they don't show on every corpse so I don't think I would be able to tell if that is the purpose.

HEH... his sword is only 5/168 in durability... this could get interesting, unless his script is set to look for that.

well if hes scripting lets hope no one throws a bunch of boxes or candlabras in the trash, it might just Accidentally box him in ;P
If a script im sure hes set it to only loot arties and or ingreds. since everyone thinks the basilisk hide tunic is so rare im sure hes tryin to farm them for sales

He might be running a script to look for and pick up/steal "stealable" artifacts.

Nope... I've already got those! Looks like he is just after the new reagents or maybe the whatever artifacts drop into your pack after killing the reknowned.

It is the Cavern of the Discarded, so maybe you should discard a bunch of boxes and candelabras. At least leave a path...even if it is in a spiral pattern.

Over 2-1/2 hours in the GM queue... went from 9 to 6...

Ohh so cute... and some people claim that people never ever scripts on tram.

Too bad he has god-mode in their flowery pink world. In fel, if GMs dont do anything then you could have done something including taking all his hard earned illegally obtained items. But since tram ruleset facets has the worst kind of scripters/hackers there (and they have god mode vs players) your only bet is page on him and cross your fingers (most likely you will still see him there after you repeatedly paged on him a few times)

That's a lot of faulty logic trying to justify cheating. The way I look at it, the less cheating the more honest people will want to play. Who wants to play by the rules when you know that the cheaters do better with less effort? Ban all the scriptors!

There are cheaters in Fel and Siege. We can shut them down in the short term...

OMG - If you are still #6 in the que then someone up there is out to lunch, literally, or gone home for the weekend. Only reason you advanced is others gave up and logged out...

But thank you for your dogged persistence in attempting to right this wrong!

I saw a thread earlier stating that the abyss should have been Fel ruleset - would have made solving this problem easy I think! (or at least less time consuming for you)

The que never updates past #6, ever. You will never have a idea if you should wait it out or leave. IMO I think that the dev team wrote it this way so as to avoid player interaction. Might not be the current dev team but this bug has been around for 6+ years.

You can safely log off. Pages don't get deleted like they used to when you log off, so if the GM's can do something about the issue they will, even if you aren't online.

'The character currently in cavern of the discarded is attempting to cast consecrate weapon while dead. I conclude the char is unattended. Please check'.

After sending it I'd have gotten on with whatever I'd planned to do anyway. You don't have to sit around waiting for something to happen. Report it and move on.

I will not ever ignore a cheater... I always page... but after paging harrassment..... from what i understand their account is then "flagged" somehow and they check the journal for the half hour or hour before and after the page...

And once I target the offender... I typically leave and go on my merry way...

They aren't going to tell you what they did anyway. So standing about is rather pointless... but since you directly target the offender they know who to look at.

At least that is my "understanding" of how the paging system works for harrassment.

I usually do pages something like....

"Great and Powerful Masters of Sosaria! Hear your humble servants plea, I hast found one under some mysterious plague. They toil endlessly ignoring both friend and allies greetings. Please release their souls so they may once again share in the joys and sorrows all men are intended to endure.

Lots of things, but for one, which is sufficient. He wants the kill the game I love.

Just because you cannot cast while dead doesn't mean the words will still not display while casting. As for seeing what the ghost is saying/casting...Spirit Speak.

That's the enhanced client showing his casting text when I run by his ghost. The mod option I have for the journal makes it look that way.

By the way... the GM did finally respond. I can't really blame the GM for the delay, it's not his fault if they are understaffed.
