Makes perfect sense to me - considering the way some players degrade the EM's while others play along - or even try to help!Sometimes I think the EM's are friendlier to some than to others.
Going to have to agree with you on this one. There were no special items created by EMs at the Last Rares Festival. This is a player run event not an Em nor an EA run event. To me, this makes it seem that its a sanctioned em event. Shouldnt be allowed to do it.
But whos to say it was the EM who gave it out? May be it was the boss herself?Fair enough Manticore. I have heard from more than one EM that they were not allowed to "give" items to players. This was one of the reasons for the Sash Machines and the blarney stones. So, basically, does this mean that guilds can start getting the EM's to make them unique items because they bring people together?
I can see where Rowan would be upset! She has gotten treated pretty rudely when it comes to rares. I saw her get reamed by a character on Pacific today for nothing but trying to sell an item. Of course I do not know any of the back story. But I have dealt with her a couple of times and she is as nice as pie.
I agreeThe whole idea of the EM program was to add another dimension of play for players, i.e., brining the community together. In a sense, this rares festival event does just that. People from all shards are coming together and the hosting shard (Pacific) with their designated team are working hard at it to make sure this becomes a successful event. The EM team and Mesanna understands this so this is a gester of their token of appreciation. This is not the first time either. Many years ago, Legends shard had their Casino event hosted by the EM and at the time they also passed out Nightmare Casino staff tunics. Therefore, instead of asking what we think about this, you should ask yourself what can you do to bring the community together and perhaps you'll get something too.![]()
You did not mention the failure of the casino, or how the player manager seemed to have extra staff tunics to sell. There is no reason for the EM staff to enrich a select group of players for hosting this event, how was the "staff" determined. It is this type of activity that creates the charge of favoritism. Items should not be created for a select few that the general population does not have a chance to obtain. The whole idea of the EM program was to add another dimension of play for players, i.e., brining the community together. Everyday in the game there are great player events on many shards, yet this one was selected to recieve this type of reward. Does this mean that these types of items will be provided to any group of players hosting a player event?I think they should customize the shirt, that way there isnt a bunch extra sitting around for sale and people posing as staff. Also if someone does sell, then we all know who did.
Honestly its a good idea just needs tweaking. People putting in the work should get rewarded.
SO who exactly were given these rare items? Who decided what "staff" would get one? The "staff could have created a GM tailor to create matching uniforms. What if i decide to host a rares fest next week? Where are teh requirements to recieve this type of special treatment. Rare items should never be handed to a select few in the game. And before you all post your bashes:
I am extensively Invovled in this Festival and I did not recieve one...
so dont say "It's easy for you to agree with it when you have one!"
And then anyone else with a GM Tailor could use a Name Change Token to make the Same Exact Clothing to pull a scam...The "staff could have created a GM tailor to create matching uniforms.
OMG You're not serious?!?! Who in the hell made this supposed list and left you off? It's unreal someone who is doing as much and trying as hard as you gets overlooked. Makes me glad the items I donated were to you personally and not anyone involved with the organization/promotion of this event. I'll be there at the casino and your museum, and maybe the auction for ****s and giggles, but thats it. Just another example of "power" abuse in this game. Boo to whoever left you off the list. I hope they get bed bugs or crabs or something else as hienious!:gun:And before you all post your bashes:

hear hear!! favoritism suxxorsSO who exactly were given these rare items? Who decided what "staff" would get one? The "staff could have created a GM tailor to create matching uniforms. Define "Great". How often do you see people transfering from almost every server to come to a player run event these days? Rares fest is now the largest player run event in UO... Does it deserve support from EA staff? I would think so if the players would wish it and the EM program is willing. Why not?Everyday in the game there are great player events on many shards, yet this one was selected to recieve this type of reward. EM's should not be handing Rare items to players just because they are asked, where would it end. But at least you do admit this was a clear case of FAVORITISMStop Blaming EM's for Favoritism and Look at the Players...
Who knows what the EM's would do if you'd simply just ask...
It is favortism. If the average player or the average guild asked for something like this it would be met with deadpan silence. Or "you are now the zillionth person in que". To solve this everyone who participates or goes should get somekind of memorabila.EM's should not be handing Rare items to players just because they are asked, where would it end. But at least you do admit this was a clear case of FAVORITISM
/signWow.
This sets a BAD precedent...
Way to go favortism.
Every time I see my EM I ask him for a Messena cream pie (it's stated all you have to do is ask) and I am put off with a "ask again later". (and these are fairly common items not super rares)the MAIN thing everyone here is missing is simply that:
1. The EM's Did not Come out and Suggest This...
2. The People running this Event Went to the EM's and Made It Happen
3. Maybe Had the Past Events Went to EMs and Requested they would of got accepted as well...
Stop Blaming EM's for Favoritism and Look at the Players...
Who knows what the EM's would do if you'd simply just ask...
I think this is more the case as they have been spending a lot of time and effort setting something up for the community to benefit the community not them selves in any way is why this item was created. And I am sure that if they knew this was gonna be the response from the rares community for there efforts it would never have been asked for.Every time I see my EM I ask him for a Messena cream pie (it's stated all you have to do is ask) and I am put off with a "ask again later". Don't act like all you have to do is ask an EM for something.
Changes all blame from EMs to Mesanna! Thanks for clearing that up! I guess this makes everything fine and dandy then!Hello Everyone,
If you guys want to be upset with anyone it has to be me. I was asked if we could help support the player event by naming the Staff shirts to identify them during the event. Since I feel like we should support your events minus giving items I felt it was a good idea. This was not done by the EM, so please do not blame them.
To me this is the exact same as giving an item, you created a rare item for a select few players.Hello Everyone,
What I mean by giving items is rewards etc for your events. The players provided the materials etc, I just added the name for the shirt.
