Is it possible to control a Rising Colossus ?

No it wasn't, and no it isn't. UO was built as an interactive world, with something for everyone, not just as a PvP game with the rest of the people provided as sheep for the slaughter. It was built for people to make of it what they would, period.

is that why we had to live in tents? houses were not secure simple by taking someones key you could take all in their house, reds couldnt enter guardzones, we had bounties on all our heads as reds? reds with 4 short terma who died lost real skill. monsters were a after thought all we did on beta was fight.

it was player vs. player ............kill or be killed.

having 12-15 of anything on you in pvp would indeed be overpowered... but its not a valid argument to cry "nerf".. unless you propose some ratio of colossus per square inch be imposed by the game mechanics.. which of course would open such a can or worms I am not certain the dust would ever settle!
well the same thing was done with evs and deamons in years past because of the same reasons. im not asking for a total nerf what i said was for them to be toned down and now yall got your panties in a bunch.

I think the stats you provided are from a 120 mystic/120 focus? So 240 skill points for an offensive weapon that lasts for 60 seconds.

Means to counter them...

1) Dispel- eliminates all RC's EV's, NF's, Demons, summons with one key stroke
2) Out walk them- yes.. walk, they don't move very fast and you can easily keep yourself out their range
3) Get them stuck- yes.. they can easily be stuck behind obstructions, so use the game environment to your advantage
4) Out wait them - they only last 60 seconds when they are cast by a 120/120 mystic, invis on them and wait till they go poof!
5) Attack the Mystic - they will be on foot! It's a 5 slot follower.. find the mystic and kill them
of course there are ways around them. but dont we have enough stuff going on in this game where now in combat you have to worry about giant rocks casting the same spells their controller are casting at the same speed, while running and pounding on you.

Well obviously this is something you need to worry about now then. Plenty of ways around it and you even acknowledge it. So there ya go. Start working around it.

Of course, if you have a mage with you then it isn't something you should have to worry about if they remember to Dispel.

Umm. You know the dev. Classified players like you back in those days as sociopath right? It's in the march 12 1998 genereal discussion meeting. This game was not a pvp game or pvm game. It's a game they wanted the playerts to decide what they want to do. Why have weddings in a pvp game,why have monsters at all,why fishing,why crafting,why any skill other than fighthing and defensive skills. Why just not have 5 classes balance to each other and you only gain by fighting others. It was a roleplaying game and still is term RPG in the title. Sure they look at pvp combat and pvm combat but they classified pks different than pvp. Just take a look at the saved logs on there conversations in Stratics for a reminder of what this game is and there stances. http://uohoc.stratics.com/

Doesn't matter do a mass dispel and your done. If you were truly back in the old days this would not even be a issue.

Doesn't matter what they did to ev and deamons. This is rising colossis a 5 slot spell that takes 2 120 skills to operate. Fun as hell and needs to keep up with all the other stuff in the game. This spell is fun because it works. We won't tolerate any nerf to it because a pvp player doesn't know how to use the dispel spell or ability in pvp. It's the ultimate whining.

Wow. This was just.......dumb. Narrow and dumb. I think you need a new pair of rose colored glasses. The ones you're using now are obviously broken.

In the right hands, a pvp tool which can hold it's own v. the hybrid dejour. What was I thinking? Of course it's in need of nerfing, it's helped to win some battles and we can't have that!
