Been playing this game for a little over 13 years now. Ive seen every patch/game change/nerf/balance/and whatever else you can think of gameplay/template wise. Theres been some good changes and some bad changes but whatever. Until recently UO always had a competitive field of templates to run around and fight against.
Now however any shard you go to id say well over 60% of the pvp population is an Archer. differnt variations with ninja/stealth/chiv w/e but none the less still a bloody archer. An archer who can heal on the run, do damage on the run, hit you from 10 tiles away all with the push of one button. And with the recent skill imbueing every single one of those mediocre pvp archers has godly bows/equipment. Now dont get me wrong i think imbuing was a great addition(even tho it has some bugs) BUT give me a break, When any no skilled bumpkin can log on and push one button with a group of 5+ archers and kill anyone while running the whole time chugging/healing something needs 2 be changed.
Im not saying lower archer damage or change the tile radius for them no, But something like halfing the hci for moving shots or doubling mana cost every consecutive moving shot would be a great way to fix this absurdness. Or for that matter lengthen the tile radius for the other melee classes. 2 handed archery weapons can have balance enabling the archer to chug. Why cant a 2 handed melee weapon also have the same mod? or instead how about letting them hit 2-3 tiles away with a 2 handed weapon. It would make sense, BIG FREAKIN WEAPON = longer hitting distance.
Basically this is just a rant/complaint from a person who has played this game for way 2 long and normally only plays a mage and is really just anoyed with the amount of trash archers that are in the game now. Archer = noskill. Dont beleive me? i invite you to mage duel me and then archer duel me on my shards. If you beat me on both then please pay no attention to my comment. but if you cant beat me on either, then you need to stop playing an archer and hiding behind numbers.
