Alchemy Suggestion

While looking at the alchemist menu the other day,I came up with a few ideas on new potions that would be fun in the game and useful at the same time. This I would call a '2nd teir potion' of alchemy. This would be a higher end alchemy potion(s) that would take 85-90 skill to craft.

1) Potion of 'blindness'. Ingredients: One Greater Explosion Potion and One to Three Night Sight Potion.
Effect: Lowers hci/dci by 5-10% plus minimal/moderate poison element damage depending on the alchemy skill of the character that uses it.This would have the same blast radius as an explosion potion.

2) Frost Potion. Ingredients:One Greater Explosion Potion and either 10 Pig Iron or 10 Grave Dust. Effect: Slows the movement speed of target by 10-25% plus Minimal/Moderate cold element damage depending on the characters skill in alchemy

3) Poison Mist Potion. Ingredients: One Greater Explosion Potion and 10-20 nox crystals and 10-20 nightshade. Effect:Area effect of the necro spell of "strangle",but clicks off damage faster and hits the stamina of the target hard.

So what does everyone think? Sounds interesting to you?

Potion of Armor Corrosion - 10 Sulfurous Ash, 10 Grave Dust - Permanently damages all equipment owned by anyone in it's area of effect by 10-25 points per second, depending on the alchemy skill of the thrower. Similar to a Conflagration Potion.

*snickers* no...no not at all. GDragons maybe, but not warriors.

Maybe another potion would be "stink bomb". It would be most effective against a tamers pet. It would either make the pet flee from battle or cause it to attack the pets master.

It would have to have the same effect on pets.

It's better to just use the base ingredients, like 20 Ash and 20 Silk instead of other potions. Saves an unneeded step.

But I like the idea of potions that can do HLD, HLA, SDI reduction, DI reduction, sleep, and mana drain. If you make them all area effect they become more interesting strategically.

Also I would like to see "Explosion" potions that deal damage to each of the 5 elements. Fire is covered. Add Cold,Energy,Poison, and Physical.

Supernova Potions - 100 silver - On use, creates a ring of fire around the player that inflicts fire damage to enemy targets within a 5 tile radius. The closer the enemy, the higher the damage will be. Damage is increased based on player’s Alchemy skill and Enhance Potions item property. There is a 2 minute cool down between uses.

Whats the damage for these? With just 50% EP and with both 100 Alchemy and 50% EP?

This potion idea is innovative and generally a good idea. like it. it will resurrect a nearly dead skill. In PvP put a timer on reuse of the potions though, so you can't spam them.

In stead of whining of unbalance, add more stuff to make it more complex. More permutations may mean that someone will figure out yet another reason to bring out the nerf bat. But by the same token, most people will actually be able to add options and think out different tactics both in PvM and in PvP.

keep the ideas coming. keep the game alive!

If I were a dev and was to put your idea into the game,I would set it along the same base damage as a (wildfire(with a 4-6 focus)+alchemy skill +EP bonus) minus (spell resist+fire element armor resist). I do like that idea you put there btw.

Having a use timer to any new and more powerful potions would be very important.

It has always been my thought that adding more content to the game that grants more fighting options than the mindless "dbl click and chase" of pvp. Alchemy should the ace-in-the-hole for those that have the skill.

Like alchemists would need more pots to throw in addition to the tri-shot explopot all of which explode at the same time dealing 99 dmg..

Do I understand it correct that you mean it decreases durability on armor pieces?

Soooo if I were evil and hated someone's gut, I could box that player and throw these pots while my 2 guildies heal that player until he is naked? That wouldn't be nice pvp, other than the regular beating armor should never be able to be permanently damaged. It's just not very funny but I could see it happen.

Other than that keep the pot ideas coming!
