The rebuilding of Magincia should take on a form that is useful.
It will become the merchant capital of the lands.
The island is perfect to become the capital of commerce. Ship docks. Flat lands. The foot print of the fallen city is perfect for opening a merchants market. Easily built rectanglular blocks.
I hope EA creates a city to rival all cities where each account can get a game owned vendor. We apply and a vendor pops up in the city. We cant dress it - only stock it.
Designed well it could hold a 1000 vendors. Ample banks, shops, and YES YES (though I disagree for a world search) a new magincia vendor search feature.
THE OTHER IDEA
AUCTION SYSTEM.
Remember no designed housing or dressing vendors. No eye sores.
The volume merchants should help with pricing. But here is a new idea.
An auction venue. Players can drop their item on a stand. SECURE. The item is tag to that player and it is displayed. Player clicks on the item to bid. Once you bid you get updates on item.
The item is up for 3 minutes. The highest bid has gold pulled from account and placed in the sellers bank. If the items doesnt sell the item goes automatically back to the seller.
If its bought the item goes to the buyers pack.
The auction would be on a stage. 5 auctions at once. Players can cue up there stuff in order. Its open 24 hours a day.
The island would be self contained and searchable. 1 vendor per account.
Oh let me mention the NPC's would have unique and rotating items on them.
Come on EA. Be creative.
And what a gold sink. You have to pay to place there. 50k a week. 1000 x50000 = 50 million. (dont forget your 50k supports a search engine). Want to upgrade the amount your vendor can hold another 50k a week. Want to turn on the ability to see who buys what? Another 25k a week. ETC ETC.
