Now that we have some working imbuers, have you all given any thought to what you'd be willing to pay for ingredients?
This is a very good questioNNow that we have some working imbuers, have you all given any thought to what you'd be willing to pay for ingredients?
up until last night i never got less than 7-8 out of one.No, but it's definitely streaky.
I can run through an entire one and get only 3 essences, then do another and get 3 on the first 3 kills of the low end spawn.
i think 30k per sounds good thats what ill sell it forI've been charging 30k per on the ones that come from the fire demon spawns
and the fairy dragon spawn (just because it's hard to get more past the first level of fairy drags). I also value essence of balance at 30k per.
1) essence of passion (lighting)
2) essence of achievement (fc 1)
3) essence of precision (HCI)
4) essence of diligence (FCR)
I had been charging 20k per on the goblin and acid slug spawn essences but if my last runs were any indication, those too are going back to 30k per.
essence of control (SSI)
essence of singularity (DCI)
Th3se are the commodities I tend to deal with most when filling orders. I also usually do not buy them myself since I do have an SA upgraded tamer. I would buy at that price however ,if in a pinch, and those prices have been the basis of my pricing since I started imbuing things; the market seems to hold up to them fairly well.
Are the spawn rates consistant? I didn't hit all the areas today but got more control and singularity than the others.I've been charging 30k per on the ones that come from the fire demon spawns
and the fairy dragon spawn (just because it's hard to get more past the first level of fairy drags). I also value essence of balance at 30k per.

A person time in the game is worth so much gold per hour. Now that we have some working imbuers, have you all given any thought to what you'd be willing to pay for ingredients?
The time-in-game-worth theory makes sense, but time in the Abyss would be hard for me to figure. There is a portion of the spawns I cannot complete alone and the drop rates don't seem to be inconsistant. I take longer than most to down a renouned. I don't plan on reflecting that in a price but it does slow things down a bit. On the other side of the coin, I am also making gold at the same time. What I do not know is worth from the buyer's perspective. There are some clues in this thread about what is most in demand. I could look in other shard forums, but really, of all the shards it will be us that gets the most benefit from imbuing.
Ingredients such as boura pelts would be easy to figure on the hour, especially since I have not yet ever been PKed out there. Perhaps run it against how much gold I can collect from blood elementals or swoop in an hour. *shrugs*
I don't know that much about imbuing, but as a gatherer, the ingredients seem to fall into 4 catagories.
1) Easy/Boring: boura pelts, snake skins, etc.
2) Essenses: spawn specific, drop rates so far ridiculously inconsistant.
3) Really low drop rate: seed of renewal, crystaline blackrock, etc
4) Stuff attainable my other means: fungi, abyssal cloth etc
I thought I could just throw my stuff on my holiday vendor after christmas and juggle prices as things sell or don't sell. But if my dye vendor is any indication, this could get expensive. So lets do some discussion here. I will list the things I can put on my vendor and throw up a price. You tell me if its reasonable and why or if it should be adjusted and why.
Seed of Renewal (stat regen): 20K
Changa Mushroom (luck): free. too easy lol
Ichor (nightsight): 20K (maybe lower, dunno what it cost to craft)
Wolf eye (reflect physical): 1K (easy, always there)
Fairy Dust (LCR): 5K (easy, but may need spawn worked)
Abyssal Cloth (mage armor): 20K (again, I don't know what it cost to craft, but I have yet to see one drop)
Boura Pelts (resists): 1K (haven't tested the drop rate per hour yet)
Crystal Shards (DI): 20K
Delicate Scales (use best weapon skill): 20K
Void Orbs (hit leeches): 1K
Slith tongue (hit dispel): 1K
Raptor Teeth (hit area effects): 1K
Vial of Vitriol (elemental slayer): 20K (do not know the cost of crafting it)
Goblin Blood (respond slayer): 1K (easy)
Crushed Glass (enahance potions): 20K
Crystaline Blackrock (plus skill): 20K
Powdered Iron (durabiliy): 20K
Elven Fletching (lower requirements): 20K
Silver Snake Skin (spell channeling): 1K
Undying Flesh (undead slayer): 1K
Archaic Rune Stone (mage): 20K
I am in no way claming this is what things are worth. I really have no idea, just throwing out numbers so we can discuss it.
I might take everything to 90%, 6 * 3 = 18 vs 6 * 10 = 60, it's less than a 3rd of the cost and you get 1/2 of the benefit [IE: +6 to all resists on the suit] Depending on how your crafted resists comes out... *shrugs* Prob'ly not, maybe... *wanders off rambling and counting on his fingers*Yup.
+15 in a resist needs 10 boura pelts. +14 in a resist needs 3 boura pelts. +13 needs none. Max is always 10 of a special ingredient.
You're either imbuing something cheap, which means you'll stop at 90% where it needs none, or 100% where it needs max. I can't think of any situations where you'll stop somewhere between 90% and 100% (except for certain combinations of resists, where you only need 14 to take you to 70.
