Yeah, what gives? Not that I'm complaining.. I was a tad upset when I read we couldn't walk on them. I know what I'll be doing tonight! (besides getting more silver serp venom for my stains!!)I thought the patch notes said you couldn't walk on the carpets? *confused*
Ya I tried that first when this happen, still threw them in the air as you see them. And the deco tool is useless here. I sent in a bug report with the picture. At 2am I saw there was no need to call a GM as I would have fallen asleep at the PC waiting for him to send me a can reply to go to some link at the WWW. I'm just going to leave them as is and wait to see if they fix this where a deco tool can be used. Can you place it on a goza first?
Tailor NPC gargoyle in the royal cityWhere Is the quest npc? I tore the place up looking this morn.
you do not lock these down by saying "I wish to lock this down", what happens is you lay the piece down and the double click to lock it in place. To release it is the same, you double click it. Had this been where you lay it out and say the magic words "I wish to lock this down", and the deco tool to fix would have saved me a lot of woe. What kind of message do you get when you try to lock the rug down? If you can lock it down, you should be able to use the tool on it.
yet you can still set boxes or goza squares in those very tiles with no problemsThe railing along the stairs blocks you there, it uses the tiles you want to put your carpet edge on.
well I will be glad to see a fix on this soon it really irks me.Well if i ever get my self a house to do my tutorials I can give you a fix for this =) until then have fun with the new poorly thought out content inspired by folks like me =) sorry it just irks me that they add things like this in and don't even understand how there own game works well enough to make it work for people...
I understand that, I figured it would be like a deed to double click to set it down. There are things you can lock down even tho you have already double clicked them into your house (some add ons). My question was really, have you tried to use the lockdown command on the rug pieces and then the deco tool?you do not lock these down by saying "I wish to lock this down", what happens is you lay the piece down and the double click to lock it in place. I still have those same pieces in the air and sent in a bug report with hopes that maybe they fix this someday.
Skipping over reading the comments, but it's the castle railing that's making it do that.
YOU GENIUS! The wooden box breaking trick does it, why didn't I think of using such a simple staple of house deco Thanks!Or, if you just drop the carpet on the tile you want it to go instead of targetting the tile use the break-a-wood-box-with-the-item-in-it trick.
And even if you are supposed to target the tile, you might want to use the box trick and lock it down the regular way.
I will try that break a wood box as soon as possible, thanks.Skipping over reading the comments, but it's the castle railing that's making it do that.
Only suggestion I have, and it's unlikely to work, is put a 0 vertical axis size item (like campion flowers) on the tile and try to place the carpet directly on them.

Awesome! Very helpful for the rest of us, too.YOU GENIUS! try a goza sq? I have yet to do so myself, but plan on replacing the stuff I took up to put the carpet down one of these days.My complaint with the new carpets is not being able to place things on top of them.... I mean seriously? They are carpets!! Sure... you can place something down.. raise it... put carpet piece under and lower it; however, when building a rune library it isn't possible to have a carpet under it. You can place one wooden bench... raise it... place carpet... lower bench.. place a book on bench... but then you are not allowed to place another wooden bench on top.
Anyone know if there are plans to fix the carpets so that things can be placed on top of them?
