UO Townhall Schedule

Is there going to be a UO Townhall Tour this year or has EA decided it isn't in the best interest of the community to hold such events?

I've submitted this as a FoF question multiple times now and have yet to see it appear in the FoF posts.

Any information on the subject from a "qualified" UO employee would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it has been asked many times and still not answered. Of course maybe the powers that be haven't decided yet if there will be any. *shrugs*

It would be nice to know a little in advance IF there are going to be some so those that want to attend can make plans.

Jeebus people. If you will notice, many of the past town halls were held during the summer. There is still plenty of time to make an announcement to allow you with such little time to prepare to set up your arrangements...la

Maybe YOU have no life, no family and/or no job. But some of us do. Or maybe you have such a schedule that a moment's notice is sufficient for you. Not so for me. Some of us have pretty busy schedules during the summer so the more notice the better.

On a side note, do you EVER post anything positive? Or is that your role on Stratics? To be the wet noodle on every post?

Here's the sad thing sweety, I have all of those things, but actually choose to make a priority out of real life and don't worry my little head about things such as being treated fairly and being given the ability to buy shiny pixels, or needing 90+ days advanced notice on a town hall meeting for an online game.

Sorry toots, but maybe some people need to reorganize their priorities...la

Wow, I just figured it out, thanks to you, Aboo.

TheScoundralRico = TSR = The Soggy Ricotta; which is the traditional Sicilian style (so my wife explains) for the cheese on the lasagna noodles.

So now, we have insight; the "la" is TSR's lament regarding his noodle status and the soggy cheese there with. :eyes:

Ricco Suave have you ever gone to a UO Town Hall Meeting? If you had, and signed up for it, you might have realized that the schedule is usually out by February. In fact, the 2008 Town hall Meetings, the very first one was on March 1st, 2008 in Jacksonville, Fl. followed by May 10, 2008 in Bethesda, Md. Both of these meetings were in the spring NOT summer. Now, if you are in Australia where the seasons are, for the most part, opposite of the United States of America, then, these examples would be in the fall for you, and the rest in the winter. Please try to learn your seasons so you don't make an irrefutable fool out of yourself.

Now, as for the reason why I'm posting about the UO Town Hall Meetings, in case you think I'm "worrying my little head, toots":

The Guardians of Light try to hold a Guild Meet-up around the time frame of the UO Town Hall Meetings. The last 2 years we have had the largest turnout of people at the Seattle Town Hall Meetings. In fact, in 2007, GoL made up ~75% of the people attending the meeting, 2008 we made up ~50% due to the larger turnout of people for the UO Town Hall. We are currently trying to lock down a date for our guild meet up and we like holding it the same time frame as the UO Town Hall Meeting.

If there is one they will tell us and you can sign up. If there isn't then they will most likely tell us. Since there is not comment then one can only assume they haven't decided yet.
Patience my child.

Edit: I would guess their attention is focused more on SA at this time.

Missed the one in Chicago last year, even though I had originally planned to go. It was actually in the Fall. But I have been to GENCON in the past. :mf_prop: ...la

I wish they'd return the Town Hall to GenCon - I had a blast the last time I went to one at GenCon, and planted the seeds of the Destruction of Haven (something you'd love to do, Rico, since you despise Trammel so).

Is your denseness an act or for real?

I like to know in advance BECAUSE my RL takes priority! That's why I need to know some in advance, in fact as much in advance as possible.

I can tell what your priority is - throwing water on anything and everything that YOU personally don't like or don't feel is important. Sorry Bub but your advice is as full of hot air as you are and there's been gale force winds today!

Such unnecessary claims and attacks going on here.
One thing to be call someone out on trolling but you're taking it too far Aboo. For shame on you *wags finger*

It was never meant as a personal attack, I am sincerely confused why he can't understand why other people need to know in advance. However, if you truly think it was a personal attack I apologize. I will just have to realize in the future that whatever Rico disagrees with he will pretend to not understand.

With 4 children and 7 grandchildren I have a VERY busy home life and in the summer I publish a School Law book for the SDE and therefore have to work quite a bit of overtime. I NEED as much notice as is possible to arrange to attend something like the Town Hall Meetings. I am sure there are other people like me so for anyone to chide us because we wish to have advance notice is, in my opinion, being deliberately mean.

And Rico while we are at just for the record it I do NOT like being called "Toots" by anyone, including my husband. It is, in my opinion, a derogatory term. Our "relationship" is now over and you can claim the distinct place of being the ONLY person on Stratics that I have ever put on ignore.

I need to know well in advance so I have plenty of time to talk my mom into watching my kids LOL.

My one year old still wakes up several times during the night so getting anyone to watch her overnight is like pulling teeth. :D

I actually wouldn't expect to see any Town Halls this year.

I'm sure it'd be very hard to justify spending the money on them.

It's a stupid meetup with questions that are usually poorly answered and could easily be poorly answered in a weekly/monthly note on the Herald. If they can't/won't answer questions in the FoF or on Stratics do you really expect more from them in person when they can't logout and hide from the players? I'd think getting SA to actually work and sell is a wee bit more important than cheeseburgers at Dave and Busters. Or, they can just forget about SA or release it as a POS like KR and we can watch UO sink.

It just seemed kind of harsh to me. But that's my point of view.

I don't think I'd attend really so much for the devs but to meet fellow UO addicts.

Really there's a group on LS that just needs to sit down and plan a meeting somewhere central. Seems like alot of us are from one particular region.

I went to one in Austin in 07 and it was a lot of fun to meet with fellow players and Devs alike.

We got a bit messed up last year (bleh) and they canceled out on us. Probably for the best. I'm wondering if any of them will be around in September of this year?

Hhhmmmmmmmm?

Just a thought anywho.

Yeah, meeting the Devs was nice. I had a very nice visit with Leurocian, UO Lead Designer. Draconi is cool. *nods* I even talked a bit with Richard Garriot in Austin.

The other players were the best part. *nods*
