And it's AWESOME! BoS being restored will make my minuscule 1 hour maybe a day of play more worth it. I don't think I have ever had more than 10mil in possession at any one time and that was after selling a house when I downsized from 2 accts to 1. The hampering on gold collection for me really hindered my "slow" playstyle to the point of not being able to afford much of anything in game anymore. This will help oodles!

It was basically one charge for use, regardless of weight.
So you know all that champ spawn gold? If you were a fast looter you could make a nice living from it.
When they changed it they first said that it had nothing to do with scripting, then later said it did. Either way, scripters did use them for sure, and their operations were hurt by the change, but scripters can, and did, adapt a lot easier than legitimate gold farmers did.
I'm most excited for, actually, for the people who used to make a very good, steady living from selling the Bags themselves. (No, that does not include me.)

Best revert of position ever! This makes such a difference to enjoyment of hunting and is great for newer players trying to make money and compete. And I for one will resume bos quests and powder quests for my vendors!

I'm happy to hear that too..... I pretty much quit picking up gold at all after the change... or hunting only in places where I could easily get to and fro without too much trouble so I could get gold otherwise I hardly hunt anymore because I miss my BOS..... so Yeah!

On a related note, what do people think of scattering around a few anvils so that recyclers could avoid needing to recall home as often? (although with imbuing/unravelling, I guess recycling will be sort of replaced as the system of choice for people who hate to leave treasures lying around unclaimed)

This is a bad idea. Why does bag of sending either work or not work?
Why not make it two or three charges to send a load of gold rather then just one charge?
I like the concept of the bag of sending but it is way to cheap to get charges.
I for one sure am happy about it. I shut down my vendor because they removed BOS. Since I cant recall on siege, It was just too much work to keep my barbed leather suits supplied.

I remember the olden days, before Bags of Sending even existed, when the Harrower would spawn someplace such as the bottom of Hythloth. I was usually the only one willing to run back and forth carting the gold out, which resulted in about 500k per Harrower for me. With the recent resurgence of champ spawns combined with no one using Bags of Sending anymore, I was scoring from the gold explosion left and right.
Every time they have a subsystem in UO that's incredibly annoying to partake in they always go and ruin it by making it accessible to everyone! [/obligatory tongue smiley]
2.) It will be nice to have Bags of Sending back, but I will miss the circumstances surrounding champion spawn gold.

Nobody's worried about a BoS return leading to more inflation?
Taking them away certainly didn't lower prices at all, so I think that ship has sailed.

When I returned to uo, I went through and did all the quests to get a bag of sending to help me buld up enough gold for a house. I was discouraged when I found that the bags no longer worked in a functional way; this is fantastic news for me.

The BoS use to only cost one charge to send an item or pile of gold to your bank box. The powder to recharge the bags isobtainable from the solen Matriarch quest. She is found in the center of the Solen Hive. Feed her a seed and she will then talk to you. I think she first asks for pitchers of water ( somwhere around 4-6 if memory serves me right) then asks you to kill so many of the black solens that are found near the entrance to Wind and bring her 200 zoogi mushrooms. After completing the quest she will then give you 100 powder of translocation. To get the BoS, there is a seprate quest, The Ambitious Queen quest, also found in the solen hive to kill other solen queens. I think you will also need to turn in a given amount of zoogi mushrooms with this one also. In return the ambitious queen will give you a BoS and a small amount of powder of translocation.Sounds good to me!

The way the Bos works now is a fully charged (30) BoS will send 15,000gold to the bank. It is based on weight of item/stack. When returned to former usage you can send however much your character can hold in one stack - about 15,000gold usually for me - but it will only take one charge. So, you get 30 individual uses per fully charged BoS.Sounds good to me!

These are the quests for obtaining the Bos and Powder. Once you are friended to the hive the Solens will no longer attack you. If you kill any of the solen types from the hive you are friended to you will lose your friendship. Also, you will not be friended in the solen hive in trammel if you do the friendship quest in felucca and vice versa. Usually helps to go the first time or two with someone who knows their way around the hive.
