YES YES YES!!! This is awesome cuz I love to hunt in Ish and what a pain it is since you cant mark runes and recall back. You can hardly loot anything there because you get over weight.

THANK YOU!
Ilsh will be more fun and new people will get money from selling fungi while they train! Ants are perfect for training!
I once had a whole new RP-ish guild selling me fungi to supply my vendor. They bought an 18x18 guild house for the money!:danceb:

I'm also very happy for the change but WHY ARE THEY DOING IT NOW!?!

Their whole issue was saying how people were AFK farming gold with these things. I've never seen anyone using a trial account to farm gold. lmost all the AFK people you see are wearing bloodwood suits (aren't tose ML only?) and it does take a reasonable ammount of time to train your characters up the point where they could macro afk :p

Not sure on the bloodwood suits. I have seen non-bloodwood suit wearing AFK scripters, though.

As to working up the characters.....That, you're really just wrong. Or, rather, you're not thinking like a scripting business. They don't work up skills the way you or I do. They script it up, and they script gold farm on the same kinds of things that can also be used to train up (Troglodytes are popular). I bet you could have a script-ready character within a day or two at most. When the trial period is over, stash the equipment away, and use it on your next trial account.

Not sure on the trial account vs. ML-enabled account. However, Jeremy (hey J., if you're reading this, how are you?) once told us that the people who script also tend to do other things dishonestly. For example they tend to find ways to not pay for their accounts. So I'd imagine they could pay for ML-enablement with a stolen credit card or something. Then it's free, for them anyway.

Just a theory...because they have coded in something to detect scripters and are trying to lure them out?

At the time of the BoS change there was an exploit in using them. Somehow the exploiters were sending stacks of 60,000. The problem was not the BoS - it was how were they picking up 60k of anything because no characters can hold that much weight at one time. That is assuming they were picking it up and not somehow sending items that were not in their backpack. I do not have all the details - another Stratics poster informed me of this. Anyhow, maybe (hopefully) they have fixed that exploit or have a way to track it and catch anyone who uses it.

My understanding is that evertime there is a patch scripts will not work for a day or so. I wish there would be a patch every few days. It does not need to be anything grand scale - change the color of all the npc hats or give them different footwear or something. Just enough to mess up the scripts.

Trial accounts are/were used by some for scripting resources and gold I am sure but mostly they were a house placing script issue.

My thoughts exactly.....

I have mixed feelings about bringing back bags of sending. I never used them for lumberjacking or mining, so I never missed not being able to use them for that. And I got used to running to the bank every 10-15 minutes when hunting for leather or to get gold or silver. It just wasn't a big deal. About the only place I've gone where I missed them much at all was Ilshenar.

What I'm not looking forward to is encountering the folks who camp the same spot for hours on end without ever leaving. I guess I will just have to learn to walk up to them and demand that they share the spawn and take turns with me. I know that with the slow re-spawn rates we have now, someone doing that to me usually makes me give up the spot and go somewhere else, especially when they come as a group with those damnably slow-to-kill anything cu sidhes. Just love to hear their yapping the whole time they try to bleed something to death while their handler does nothing. Irks me into leaving every time.

Is it really so hard to find another spawn somewhere instead of 'demanding' to share the spawn? I generally ask, if they say no, that's fine, they were there first, I leave and find something else. There's no lack of Blood elementals, poison elementals, titans, daemons, or balrons. If I can't get the swoop spot (for example) I can check almost a dozen of my favorite other spots to get gold, fame, and items.

Nope, it's not hard at all and that is what I quietly do 99% of the time. My characters' backpacks are full of runebooks with lots of alternate spots and I have some pretty nice runebook libraries at some of my houses. However, when I see the same person or group camping the same spot for what appears to be hours on end, day after day, I do tend to get a wee bit annoyed. And that's what I think will happen once again with the reversal of the bags of sending nerf.

But that's just the way it goes, I guess. If this change brings good people back to the game, then it's probably a good change.

Whatever.
