The way I see it, the SoT are a "repaired" version of the scrolls of alacrity - as the alacrity (a) did not guarentee any gain at all and (b) over-rewarded script-training. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see alacrity again.

Tokuno is become associated with dyes to me ... I think they should permanently add the ToT II "dull" dyes (just don't have them marked as redeemable for artifacts) or some of the slime dyes.

I kind of support this in a left handed under hand tribute kinda way.... what i mean to say is

when i started this game it was just after the release of SE and i really enjoyed working my char up while hunting for the tok arties..good times!!!

why not come up with 10 new minors for turn ins, and 10 new majors ?

I'd love to see a back banner for samurai chars offering 10 dci (everyone wears a quiver of infinity for the dci why not have a cooler looking more powerful version?)
and make it were you have to be at least gm in bush skill to equip it. for example the yumi you must have either 50 bush , or ninj to use the specials on this bow.

the possibility's for min, and major items is endless...some others i'd really think would be great would be

minor
sandals offering 2 pt's in a random resist (basically to be versatile w footwear boots on a samurai NAHH sandals)

major
Shogun's Helm
8 stam inc
30 HLD
phys 25
fire 10
cold 10
poi 10
energy 10

major
Yumi
Balanced
SSI 35
Hit spell 40

major
Katana
Sp Chan
mage weapon -0
DCI 15

etc... u get the picture.

What I'd do with Tokuno:

I would take the dungeons and put a ML-scale boss in each one, a super-Yomotsu chief in the mines and a Putrifier-like Balron in the fan dancer dojo. Then I'd put either the old ToT minors on them at the same rate as the ML marties as well as on Serrado and maybe normal Yamandon (and possibly Travesty).

Or if not ToT minors, other artifacts of the same quality with a Tokuno vibe to them, also tradable for ToT majors.

Maybe not these exact ideas, but I am definitely on board with having at least a few variation of new treasures and having an event that would last longer than the last event had!

AND put the same thing into the Lost Lands... SOMETHING should be done there besides having an entrance to Khaldun.

I think they should have kept the tok drops going. Turn the damn things back on, at least once or twice a year.

I need a caprice and don't want to pay some gouger to get one.

Technically, Tokuno does have something going now: The Serado the Awakened spawn, and the unique rewards it grants.

But yeah, that's one area in a pretty large map, much of which is empty much of the time.

Tokuno's used more often, however, at least on LS, than it's given credit for.

I'd definitely be behind some kind of specialized reward for it, though.

I've come to think, however, that it's actually NOT a good idea to reinstate Treasures of Tokuno. Especially with Imbuing coming right around the (distant) corner. Why, for example, ever bother Imbue a breastplate of any kind when you can push hard enough and get the Rune Beetle Carapace, one of the most useful breastplates in UO history? Not that it's perfect for everyone, but it's perfect for a lot. I also kinda like the idea that there's a finite number of these items out there.

So, here's some other possibilities. Some of these mirror proposals other posters in this thread have made. I make no claim to being original.

  • New items, useful but not overpowering.
  • Major revamp of loot tables in general, that effects Tokuno disproportionately. (So if, say, balrons get bumped up 2 steps, Onis get bumped up 3.) Basically this would restore Tokuno loot to its original standing when SE was released....And would be great to make Tokuno a nice place to farm for stuff to use in Imbuing.
  • Single-use, non-turn-in-able, and very rare dyes.

Talk about overpowering mages. And hell I'm a mage weapon mage myself
Yeah might as well make a shield to match it with something like

Buckler
100 dex
100 parry
SC
fast cast 1
balanced

but to make it fair it won't have any resists.

all good ideas hehe. Lost lands need love too, other than the fel cs's T2A is mild. perhaps add a random drop of 3x gold on monsters in T2A or toko. make it so like every few kills theres the chance for a big chunk of gold.

#1 for the level/difficulty of the mobs, while they do drop a good BIT of loot, the loot quality is surprisingly junky for mobs this hard. Most of the rings could drop off a plain old lich or orc lord.

#2 T2A is unused because they've slapped on progressive content with the expansions.... EA please stop doing this. Take a lesson from games like WOW, when you keep slapping on progressive new areas in expansions (which are harder, higher level, and drop better loot than ever available before) you do little but completely remove any point to earlier content. The fact that no one really runs around exploring anywhere other than Ilshenar, and certainly parties never go almost anywhere but Fel champs or Ilshenar, attests to this. There is little "point" to visit T2A, and other than a few specific arties, few people seem to bother in Tokuno either.
