there is the darkwood set and You cant enhance it with a runicWhat are the wood armor types, is any prone to being mage armor like samurai armor is for smiths? And do the armors that require special materials get affected by runic saws or are they like a static "artifact item thing?"
you might want to fix your post it says leaf is the same as leather and is non medable. Which I am sure you made a mistake and meant to put medable.There's only 1 type of wood armour type I'm afraid.
The 3 elven types of armour correlates to the human ones like so:
leaf = leather (non-meddable)
hide = studded (non-meddable)
wood = plate (non-meddable)
The wood armor does not have a built in mage armour property like samurai armour.
You have use a runic and hope you roll the mage armour property. iirc, one of the random properties that heartwood gives is mage armour, so you can also enhance/make it out of heartwood use that to hopefully get in the mage armour property, but it's random.
Note, from my own enhancing experience, enhancing wooden armour tends to destroy them more than enhancing leather or metal armour, maybe I just have bad luck. Th emost recent piece I destroyed was an LRC 20, MR 2, Mage Armour, Fire Resist 12 wooden breastplate. Was trying to enhance it with bloodwood to get the HPR and more Fire resist...
Whoops, thanks for spotting that, hazards of cut and pasting heh.you might want to fix your post it says leaf is the same as leather and is non medable. Which I am sure you made a mistake and meant to put medable.
Yup, good potential to turn out really well with the special properties from using bloodwood or heartwood.Wood armor can be nice... but extremely hard to get anything good as you need bark fragments as well.
On test I burned through a lot of bark + wood with a heartwood saw... still got crap =/
Wood armor can yield good properties if you're uber lucky... like 5 % HCI, 5%SSI, HP regen up to 4, DI...those are some that you can get enhancing with Heartwood and Bloodwood for the HPR.
None of the carpentry "major" artifacts Ironwood Crown, Bramble Coat, Darkwood Armors, and Phantom Staff are effected by runic saws. They have set properties, but there is one slight exception.And do the armors that require special materials get affected by runic saws or are they like a static "artifact item thing?"
I've got a whole medable suit all with +3 and +4HPR, some nice resists. I've found that it was just easier to collect wood armor from loot and enhance that.Wood armor can be nice... but extremely hard to get anything good as you need bark fragments as well.

I've been making hardened wild staffs (+5% DI) and quarter staffs to get the best mods using Yew. An even better weapon is the gnarled staff using ash for speed or yew for the +10% DI, hoping to get max SSI out of it... but for some reason I've never got a decent gnarled staff. I haven't tried making clubs.What's the best weapon to make using the runic saws? I've got all 3 weapon skills at 120, so which one doesn't matter. I've got a couple of saws sitting in a box that I just haven't gotten to yet and was thinking about burning them this weekend.
Balanced isn't possible with carpentry... but it should be!Bokutos are what I see sold the most. Not many macer dismounters to make clubs. Or people who use quarter staves, unless you make an uber one with Balanced on it (if that's possible)
