Out of curiosity, what's the policy on EMs posting to forums like Stratics and UOForums? Is it policy that they should not post or can they advertise ahead of time when events will go down?
If they run things like the Lord Casca schedule it would be much appreciated. Maybe not every time for for the more *scripted* speeches ect, it was nice to see a schedule posted on uoherald. This way even if you can't attend the time on your own shard you can maybe visit another for the day and catch it as a last resort.Out of curiosity, what's the policy on EMs posting to forums like Stratics and UOForums? As a result of this post, I went on a little tour of my own....I wanted to say publicly how much we have enjoyed our EMs on Lake Superior. EMs Quantum and Autolycus (we affectionately call them Q&A) have made themselves available for chats and are working hard to get to know our shard.
They are still tied down to Britain but never once complain and we have even brought some of our events to them instead.
I went on a tour of shards the other night to visit other Counselor Guild Halls and though one or two were still barren, the rest were decorated beautifully with books of welcome and a wedding planner ready. I ran into EM Laurana when I popped into Origin and she was so nice to take time out for a visitor.
Here is a picture of our community meet up, player decorated at the time, with our EMs Q&A. I hope the majority are experiencing the same enjoyment!
*hugs all around*
EM Event Missing is more appropriate Oceania maybe small and upside down to all of you but if you put little suckers on the EM's feet I am sure he will start to get around and maybe just maybe we will see them!I wanted to say publicly how much we have enjoyed our EMs on Lake Superior. Um, are we playing on the same shard? I saw the EMs in their counsellor hall five or six times, and I've seen them out on their yellow named characters twice; once they had a bunch of people with them and were RPing with us all in Umbra. Seriously, you mustn't be looking very hard.EM Event Missing is more appropriate Oceania maybe small and upside down to all of you but if you put little suckers on the EM's feet I am sure he will start to get around and maybe just maybe we will see them!![]()
I don't think it is necessarily not looking hard Siyeng0 but perhaps a matter of timing. Perhaps if you are noticing a certain time that is good or if someone attending is able to post a heads up on your shard's forums it will give a better chance at meeting them. If someone has only certain times to log in it might account for a missing EM to them. *smiles*Um, are we playing on the same shard? How is it a waste of time recruiting a volunteer staff to run events of their own will?I wish they would stop the wate of time the EMs bring, and instead of hiring staff to work that program, they would hire staff to actually fix the problems in the game...la
Actually there have been a number of people who have attempted too. For instance all the good time graphics designers who use to build skeletal animations and renders of game creatures/figures. They were always shot down by EA because EA by law cannot accept the work due to legal issues.I'll bet there would be people who would volunteer to help corrct problems in the game. Who knows...maybe some of the unemployed developers who still play/love the game?...la
Yeah, God forbid they have to do that. Oh the horror...laPlus for anyone to submit a huge programmed addition, developers would have to go through it line by line to check its accuracy and make sure it's not full of bugs/viruses that could bring down servers or all characters.
I'm not sure if you're absolutely aware of how hard that is. Especially if you have a multi-thousand line submission with code executions then the actual virus written through random parts of the code every subsequent sets of lines.Yeah, God forbid they have to do that. Oh the horror...la
