Champion Spawn Ettiqute

I normally just jump in. Although I've been kind of tired of champ spawns.

The only time I've ever 'had words' with someone was when I was working the Spirit spawn and a bunch of people came and just sat at the altar waiting for the champ.

One even came up to me and asked if it was gonna take me long to get the champ up lol

Sneaking around the toko spawn the other day I see this guy working the spawn way away from the champ alter no one else even remotely near him.

Well I follow the guy and sure enough as the spawn level changes up to revs and lesser hyru he moves in to the alter where................

a bunch of duche bags Instanty start talking outa the arse about how he's crashing their spawn and ruining their odds.

its a ****ing public game get the **** over it..........

for me i just jump in on anything, champs, doom, regular spawn.. who cares.. its a game.. if I'm out and i want to do something and someone happens to be there at the same time, just attack away..

if they complain, i ignore them. this is probably why my ignore list is so long..

I bet you wouldn't feel the same way about jumping into the middle of a basketball game and taking up one of the goals when they're playing a full court game. Or maybe you would and would just ignore the guys there while they happily beat you senseless.

my time is expensive, when i want to play i do so.. its a game not life.

if they wanted it to be like a basketball game, they would have made champs like peerless and when you challenge one you get teleported to a new place that only you and your team can get to.


i on the other hand, dont really care about someone that thinks they own the spawn around them because they was there first.

our guild has done several champs from start to finish.. only the tram ones you get people that complain about "their" spawn.

Someones spawn is anyones FYI dosnt matter how much you worked its still anyones. Not to start a tram vs Felucia war but it is one of the reasons I despise tram you get the Me,Me,Mines more often than not. at least in the felucia rule set if someone annoys you you can at least try to kill him/her or not.

lol, I crashed two trammel spawns on level 3 (with 2 other people, we got a swamp tile off one) and the whole spawn was raging at us, then I went to luna and more rage. I found it hilarious.

I don't know about all that, but it sure does seem I know more about common courtesy toward others than you do, and don't use the anonymity of the internet as an excuse to make an ass of myself, acting towards others in ways that would usually end up with a punch in the face at the least in a face to face situation.

It's a game with real live people. Those other characters around you have real live people behind them. I know that may come as a surprise to you, but it's true. Honest it is.

If I come to a spawn where the champ is up I heal and rez if needed. I do not attack the champ out of courtesy. I realize fully that nothing prevents me from doing as I wish. That is why it's a courtesy. Many others on my shard do the same. Each person makes his own decisions in life and in game but using the fact that UO is a game to obfuscate the fact you are being an ass is just absurd.

Should I do a spawn by myself and others show I do not complain or "my spawn" them( I have yet to see this ever stated in game. Lucky I guess.) I have played this game for over a decade and know well how some people are and how they view the game and the people who play it. There are many that play the game that detach themselves from the humanity of the other players in the game aside from those in their circle. This is somewhat common but by no means is it justified by the mere fact UO is a game. Those are people behind those *shudders* toons.

Well, that's a spawn in a safe rule-set for you. They should just be happy that's it's still a Tram rule-set and they can't be stolen from or attacked by other players.

I can understand being irritated by people showing up near the end of a spawn, but acting the way they did is way overboard. Sounds like they were just being greedy and wanted it all for themselves. I would just accept the extra help and keep working on the spawn. It's not like one or two extra helpers will completely hinder ones ability to score something off the boss. But if an entire group of like 6 people show up near the end...then yeah, that would be kind of messed up. But, being a trammel rule-set spot, not much you can do about it so bad mouthing wont do any good at all and just be a waste of time.

Why be nice its a game? You dont know those people never will why ruin your fun? You do know they dont give 2 sq's about you? dont you? When it comes to gaming show no mercy *does cobra ki hand thingy*.

My favor CS is Tokuno, and I jump in there alot during the spawning and even ran in when the Champ was up, and once when he was dead and gold was on the ground, did I stop to ask if it was ok to shoot at the Champ, nope, I started as soon as I pulled it health bar. Also if I am doing a CS and someone else wonders in during this, I welcome them like lost brothers/sisters in arms so they can help me kill that SOB.

Had this been in a normal dungeon fighting the normal spawning, [Titans or OLs], I would have left in a heartbeat if someone is farming the monsters for gold as I will not steal from them in the dungeons, I will ask if they like to share, and if they say yes then I will stick around.

But at the CS, sorry all is fair in love and war as far as I am concern there, and some folks already said if in Felucca you can settle it very quickly. So if you see me, [same name here as in game] at a Sonoma CS, I just happen to be there looking for action and fun!

It makes me glad that there's little persistence in such things.
The only effect the champ spawns have on the world is the items they bring into it, which would still come into the world, no matter how the spawns are managed.
If they did have a permanent impact on the game, then we'd have a tragedy of the commons (or commons dilemma, to be more precise in this case). As was proven in Magincia, self-interest (personal gain, in the case of the rubble) can ruin anything that is in the hands of a group.
I guess it could be argued that the satisfaction of players is an impact, and I wouldn't disagree. But... Self-interest, and all...
Mentioning 'A Story About a Tree' will probably be a waste of time.

Inconsideration towards others aside, one of the main drives for doing Champion Spawns, these days, is acquisition. Few people did them before this publish, and now they're well-farmed.
There'll come a time when I set my sights on them, and when it comes, I don't think I'll imagine for a moment that anyone else's desire to acquire is any more important than my own.
Let everyone try, and the mechanics decide.

As far as im concerened a spawn that is PK free is fair game,

I usally do spawns in fel but, if on occasion i do go and find a spawn at 3rd level im not going to leave see if the other one is popped,if not wait around for it to be finished then wait 15mins for the next pop???

As the spawns cant be popped by valour im not waiting around, sorry if that makes me sound like a jackass but i dont have the time to wait around 15mins doing nothing.

I always felt the shadowbane approach to uo was needed. If it interferes with your fun, kill it and keep doing what ever you want.

Well in general we have tram, so we can be idiots 24 hours a day. People care only for them self, loot everything, and if their dear little pet gets hurt, they invis it, so the guy standing next to it dies. If we see someone script mine/tame whatever, we get mad about it, some even cry. And the most creative ones, lures monsters makes gates and spend hours just to annoy the little scripter, so he can die etc etc, without us getting repported for harrazment. Tram is such a nice place, some people even claim that without tram they would close their accounts. Most evil things happend in trammel.
Now i suddenly remember why i most of the time hunt in feluca, coz all the idiots from tram that enters, we can KILL, and we love it.
Did i write lets start a flame-war ? not really but think about all the fuzz, when u can't kill every annoying player u encounter, it really makes people hate everyone...And make them do stupid things, like making threads like this one

You're painting a black and white picture. Both, Trammel and Felucca, have its issues. In Trammel we have scripters and antisocial behavior, in Felucca we have hackers and antisocial behavior.

Splitting the world in two was a mistake in the first place.
