Do the new EMs have squelch powers? and Teleport powers? (as in, people to jail?)
If not, empower the, please.
If so, Instruct them to use them at will, please.

Have spent two evenings at the Casca speech on my shard...And still haven't seen/heard all the speech in its entirety. The kiddies show up, in droves, spamming spells, Shouting profanities at each other, talking over Casca, you can't read his text on the screen for theirs, the journal is spamming so fast you can't keep it scrolled back fast enough to catch it all, etc.

Empower your EMs to either squelch the speech of these, or teleport em to the Bucs Den Jail for an hour (ingame time). That way, the few that really do want to enjoy/participate/RP the event, can do so. And the kiddies that just want a sash or sword or title or just to be seen, are out of the way.

Again, the magic word, PLEASE!

With the insanity created by the "its not my bed time" players, it makes things difficult for those who care. I can only imagine the insanity that must happen on the larger shards. It would seem to me that if Mythic puts these resources into play Mythic would care about making an impact.

Want to make an impact on the possible new accounts with the new expansion? Add some discipline and organization to the Events.

I don´t know about the other shards but on Siege Lord Casca was not unattended.

Sure, the speech was automated but in the middle of it a player said something about Luna and Casca interacted with him by saying something back to him about Luna...

Siege Casca was fairly interactive. Was the speech scripted? Hell yes. I do the same when I have a long speech to deliver. I am a slow typer...

I saw enough to convince me Casca was there.

Also keep in mind, I can't judge how extensive the problem is, or what actions would be required, just from Stratics feedback. Having identified the problem though, I just want you to know that we'll pay attention to it.

It should be noted that the EMs did everything in their power with what they've been given. I hope that your shard's reporter will have been able to post a copy of the speech in your shard's forum, as I've seen some do already.

Personally I'd love to see every dragon/white wyrm/greater dragon, or other large size creature that goes to this event and other like events be sent to the Ethereal Void for good.

If there's no combat involved and merely an event taking place, there is no reason to have these huge behemoths in everyone's way. Leave them stabled or at home.

I agree with both Uriah and Maple, on our shard there were alot of people that were way out of line. Be it "F" bombs, the "my guildie beat up your guildie", and/or "give me stuff". I did however make a number of comments to Casca on him being a false king, ect. Those were done however, to be in character and to interact and I did not spam. If my comments were part of the problem also, then i do apologize. It wasnt my intent, was only trying to interact with the event the best I could.

I have this on Baja forum. I went through and picked up every word and emote from the King and Sherry.

Feel free to read it, I understand it's slightly different than others, but there should be enough similarities to get the gist.

I thought it was well done, save for the....*thinks of word*... individuals.... that made it difficult to go back through all the pics and see what was said. But that's not EA's problem that's the shards.

If EM's could be given an ability/item which silences all players within a certain tile radius (15 might be good) that would be helpful. They could turn it on and off as necessary.

Just finished tonight's event on LS (Tram version) and everying went great... not a single person trying to deliberately disrupt the proceedings, a LOT of back and forth between Casca and the crowd as well as Sherry and the crowd.

Had a lot of fun and no problem people to report!

That way they can't just log out and into another character to ruin more of the event for the players that wish to be involved. Also I'm sure that Journal records are kept for each of the EMs to insure that they are not doing anything wrong. So they should be reviewed and anyone using foul language should have a 48 ban placed on their accounts for their first offense. I'm sure that will make many of these players think twice about being a jerk at public events.

If I may I think this was a "wetting of the EMS" in other words there first real task to start with with the public other than just saying hi I was a councilor back in 2000 or so and there are alot of things to learn that most people don't see or even understand plus they have to keep with a storyline (or try to) and we all (myself included) can get kinda out a hand so I would say give them a little space and time it can really be overwhelming

there is a squelch command or there used to be pretty much on screen if I remember right that would have worked but there new and maybe ems dont have that not sure and also you can save and filter your own records to get rid of the BS

Well, it's not the first day any more ... but what I actually had in mind was a week's imprisonment in Yew jail ... for civil disobedience it is a much more compassionate than execution, yet oddly a harsher punishment for player characters given the extreme abundance of resurrection magic in the world

As a role-player I enjoy attending these events. However when I have trouble even reading the speech on my journal because its scrolled too fast from the spell-casting and just irritating behavior... it makes me hard pressed to get into the event. Please, please give our new king a bright pair of fiery cajones and have him at least teleport the offending folks to a holding area where they stay for the duration of the event. I'd hate to have the area squelched as it limits rp interaction/reaction.

As long as they distinguish between griefers and those who are ic opposed. Some rp communities support rougher language when ic (since UO provides a filter). I doubt an rper would 'spam' any such comments, but I'd hate to see folks simply lump all folks who curse in game as griefers.

If I remember right squelch works by turning it on (all people should be listening anyway)and nobody can type and be seen on screen when speech is over you turn it off that way during the speech all can see whats going on then its up to em weather you are worth talking to if you are acting like a screwed up mob then you should be treated as such ! ( or just install the journal)

That would kind of eliminate feedback, which is the purpose of having a live person behind the Casca character.

Oddly enough, my ignore list, which has been empty until this past weekend(for 10 years) has many many people on it. Some of them, I hate to say, are in my guild. I really have to have a talk with some of them about event manners.

Try chucking a conflag pot on a banker at luna and say "guards".

Then realise what you could have done.

Drac - I have not attended events like this ingame for years because of actions like what was reported. Before the Seer/EM program went on vacation it was an issue and it has not gotten better.

What do I think is fair? No squelch and >poof< to some unnamed placed for "counseling". Oh, no. I say squelch and freeze in place for 2 hours RL time. Even if logged off the character is frozen and the account essentially locked from use until the timer dies.

The miscreant must suffer the speeches and if any action come of them, miss it ... as well as suffer a "suspended" account.

Oh I did ignore a couple of people who tried to ruin a event for everyone else. So I did not have to see them spanning all over the place in a vain attempt to get attention. Problem is they still are running around and you can see that. Plus as a reporter I do keep copies of all my journals, but when at a event you want to sink yourself in it, and feel like a part of it. Not go over journals later to see just what was said.

Should a few childish players have the right to disrupt events for the players who really care about what is going on?

Perhaps, you left to fast. On our shard, at the hall , there were two RP'd paladins that showed up. With yellow names, and invulnerable
And they were neither scripted nor npc, but real live peeps (EMs I assume)...Next time, come for the foreplay, but stay for the roleplay, you will enjoy it a lot more!
