Human to Elf quest bugged?

I've done all the steps necessary. I go back to Darius in Moonglow, let him go through his speech, and then get the message asking if I want to become an Elf.

At this point, I verify all armor/clothes are off, I am dismounted. I click yes, and I get a buggy dialog window. It looks like it has 3 fields with scroll bars I'm supposed to select something on, they're empty. When I click OK to continue... nothing happens. I can then walk away, go back to Darius, and it all repeats itself.

Has anyone has this problem before? Is there a solution to it?

I suggest you try logging out at the nearest inn and then come back and try it again. I'm not sure what the problem is. This is UO afterall, lol.

Thanks Arch Magus. I tried that to no avail, even logged in another character in between to make sure I was truly logged out.

I'm going to try installing the 2D client (I only have KR) and see if that works. If anyone else can think of anything, please let me know

Just to update:

Tried with 2D client, works fine. Looks like it's a bug with KR.

Aha, so KR was the culprit all along, lol.

I'm assuming the 3 scroll bar thingy's were graphical errors of some sort?

Were those supposed to be options for what you wanted your character's hair to look like? I don't remember, I haven't made an elf since ML first came out.

This is a known bug in the default Kingdom Reborn interface.
Luckily, it's been fixed by our most helpful KR modders. I recommend downloading either the BB_Enhanced or the Legacy skin from the modders exchange - you can find pointers to the site on the Kingdom Reborn forum.

Mods? Mods?? I didn't know there were mods! I'm on it like white on rice.

And Arch Magus: The buggy dialogs should have been populated with options for skin tone, hair style, hair color. That was my suspicion last night and what led me to try the 2D client.

Now, off to find some mods!

Despite all the problems with KR, the 2D client is pretty unusable to me. Not that there's anything wrong with it per se, it's just my computer is hooked up to a 37" screen. My eyes water when trying to play on the 2D client
