hmm ... does this mean that there will be a seperate set of mechanics around the gargoyle virtues? Or that lore about the virtues will be a motivator? "important" is a difficult word to pin down in a diverse group like ours.
That's unforunate about the heartwood craftables ... I guess they won't stack very well with imbuing.

I see one problem with contacting the EM on our shard, currently the one book we have to leave questions or message is being erased by people unknow. Several of us have had to repost our questions or remarks in the book. What is to stop these people from erasing the request for weddings?
Although I'd like to smack any loser who has a wedding in a video game.....................
They simply need to make the book more of a submit type system where you enter your request and it is submitted to the EM via email or whatever. That way other players cannot come along and delete your request.
God help us though if that request queue is handled anything like the GM queue. People would need funeral services long before their wedding request is ever handled.

The last section of the FoF says we have until "Monday afternoon" to log in to get holiday tickets. Is there going to be a patch or a publish Monday afternoon that will turn off the holiday tickets? Monday's also a holiday for some folks in the U.S., so I can already hear the grumbling if all shards end up being down for an hour or two mid-day on Monday.

Nah, just do like they've said many time - send in questions through the herald site - feedback form, choose FoF =)

Weddings were fun back in the day and even after the dismisal of the wedding system, RPers kept it alive. Bringing it back would be fun especially for the RP folks and those of us who play with a spouse. People shouldn't dismiss the idea again and/or make fun of others who enjoy it.

- I would like to echo Maplestone's latest post. Plus, I have heard of many hoping for them, from as soon as they stopped happening; and it seems to me that the Devs. had commented on their comeback even before the date Maplestone quoted. So yes, this was something some players have been requesting & long before UO had its 11th anniversary.

I have done a few weddings on Siege. Most were for couples that really were married in real life.

Um... what? Why would there be any plans? That is a complete waste of a question and if a real player asked that (which I doubt, it was probably a dev filling in space) they should quit for being such an idiot.

People complain more places than just Stratics about the poor UO communication.
I personally have submitted questions for the FoF and they have never been answered in one of them. Others have as well.

On a side note, something that didn't make it to the FoF is a reminder to everyone who didn't collect their Holiday Gift tickets, Monday afternoon (jan 19) is the deadline. You do not need to pick gift right away (no deadline on that) but you must at least get the ticket.

My wife and I have not had a marriage in game, she did not play the game when I was playing, took her a few years looking over my shoulder, one day I had to go afk and when I came back she was in my chair battles a spawn of brigands that pop up on the character I had, "They were attacking you, you almost died", so that when we took an old account and reactivate it for her, today she has two of the five account we control, so will most likely seek a marriage for her main character and mine.
*Waits for EA to bring Magic Moments back to top up their revenue*

Okay Regina, so we know you read this thread, but why are you still dodging one of the # 1 questions being asked by the community? What info is there about the 11th Anniversary tokens? This was mentioned way back in November and we were under the impression that we would know more by mid December. I am sure that this question has been submitted to the FOF, but just in case, I am going to submit it today and I encourage everyone else who reads this and wants to know to do the same.
Like all non-community members of the dev team, Regine is only allowed to communicate in an official capacity about things related to her work, or fluffy fun stuff.
She isn't dodging the question because its not something she could answer one way or another. Design has nothing to do with the release of items for sale, and leveraging her pride or concern for the community won't circumvent the official communication process for the tokens (which *are* coming, and no, I don't have further details either, good try!).
The info we have about the 11th Collection Tokens has already been shared. There's no dastardly secret or anything: I look forward to redeeming my own when they're available.

As for the weddings I can't wait. Back years ago when they had them before I used to perform a few. And most of those were for Role-play or they were couples that while married in RL wanted a nice "second wedding" and they held it IN GAME. Which to me was very sweet. So while most of you complainers might not be at all interested in UO Weddings I am. I thought they were a lot of fun before and I still think they are now.
P.S. If your on GL and you want to get married the Yew-wood Forest Theatre will cater to your needs and I am certainly open to some redecoration for weddings. Or if you would like a small chapel I believe I know where one is as well. Not to mention a nice open air tavern for the gathering following the blessed event.
This Five on Friday is actually not bad. It did answer questions that have been spammed about on the boards, just mostly not ones that were spammed about the last couple of weeks.
The return of officially sanctioned, in-game weddings has long been sought, for example, as have other official RP supports. The Virtue system has been discussed on these boards for a long time. They basically answered 2 questions about bugged Replicas, and those questions have been spammed about on the boards very recently.

That's exactly what could have made a good FOF question and answer. Why was that so hard? MalagAste says that this had been addressed in another post, but I'm sorry, I must have missed it.
I'm usually a huge supporter of our EAMythic friends, but no communication for most of December + a flubbed up event (Slimes) + really poor questions (and yes that is my opinion) in the FOF make for poor image. I am willing to bet a month's worth of playtime that the UO community by and large would rather know about the 11th anniversary items and not the prospect of a UO Wedding.
