*laughs about the water tiles* heck, put up a pic of yer place. By the way, I'm probably ten years older than you, maybe more.
Ya know, I'm not going to keep barding. I'll use it to pay for my house, then it's gone. I was pre Pub 16, too, you know, and a GM BardMage. The Balrons knew me by name. How can I enjoy the trade, now, if your 99.5 Bard can't reliably it two dragons? The whole beauty of Barding was wading into twenty critters and turning them into your dance partners. All of them. I could do that, and it was fun. Funnest stuff I did in UO.
Now I've heard, not just from you, that it's just not the same game. Call me spoiled, cause I am, but I wanna be a force to be reckoned with. I don't want to babysit two critters who are slowly banging each other to death while other folks are wasting them right and left around me. I don't want to start a fight and have to watch it dissipate because I had to leave the line of sight to evade some other monster. I don't want to spend four skill slots to gain dominion over some creatures in a limited environment at a slower kill rate than other folks manage while being incapable of using the four skills on certain creatures at all. To hell with it.
*sighs* It really has been a frustration. I mean, I can survive a spawn even now, at my limited skill level. But I can't own it, and I lose the effect of half my provocations due to performing site-and-range-breaking maneuvers; I can survive it, but I can't break it to my will. Pfft. I'll find something else.
I'll necro mage, and hide. Tell me, should I try to poison? Should I do a sword skill? What should I do for defensive skill, by the way? I get hit hard as heck by every critter that touches me. I hate wearing armor and don't want ot lose a lot of skill points to evasive skills. What do you suggest?
Oh, and in the States we spell it "defense".
P.S. It's 2:30 am here in the capital of California. Arnold Schwarznegger is my new governor. I work five hundred yards from the State Capitol. I look at it out my 12th storey window. Interesting place to be. I might have to sleep soon, although I'm really enjoying the chat with you.
