Hey. It was on the ground. Not technically stealing. I have had it happen to me, and now i know the max that will fit on a pack horse or beetle (320) and do not buy more than that at one time! Sometimes it takes a learning experience.

Back on topic. I will be doing my tailor from gm 2 legendary on Tuesday. Ill post my results as well.

Hmm I dont know about 19k leather! I just got 120 and i maybe used 4-5k leather, didnt count my cloth but spent around 25k on bolts of cloth.

i started with cloaks all the way to like.. ahh cant remember excactly but was higher than 80, just made em til i got no more gains, heck with robes, just make cloaks, a lot cheaper.

Then made oil cloths and cloth ninja hoods til like 100 something, til i couldnt gain anymore off them.

Then to gm i made in this order and only maybe a full skill point or so of each: Studded Hiro Sode, Studded Haidate, Studded Do, then all the way to 119.1 I made studded tunics, then back to studded dos for the KO

altogether used no more than 5k leather, and no more than 25k gold worth of bolts of cloth

a Normal skinning Knife will do the trick. after you slay the animal just "use" your blade (a UOA Macro "use item in hand helps alot) on the corpse..the cut leather will appear in your backpack

The main difference between a Butcher's War Cleaver and a Skinning Knife is that the Skinning knife must be equipped for the skins to go to your pack, while the BWC can do it while not equipped. For me, this isn't an issue, as my skinning knife is a reptile slayer.

Figured I would post my numbers for the 110 to 115 trek, doing strictly cloth ninja hoods. My results, and numbers, are quite a bit different, so hopefully I was just having a bad day with the RNG. Also, logged the changes in arms lore, since I don't have it GM'ed on this character yet. I can break it down by groups of 100 combines if anyone is really that interested.

Purchased cloth - 36610 pieces = 732.2 bolts @ 101 per bolt = 74k (73952.2 gp, for those being picky - originally purchased 800 bolts)

Actual used (including unraveling) = 67210 = 1344.2 bolts (1300 per run of 100, recycle of 600, 700 added from purchased pile)

Total combines made was 5170.

And Arms lore, which started at 74.2, advanced to 87.5, for a total of 13.3 in gains.

As is always the case, very boring. Thank goodness for a CSI marathon on Spike TV, and UOA.

Leather use (before recycling) - 17936. Leather use (including recycling) - 35536. Total combines - 4442. Cost - Don't ask. Being Legendary? Priceless.

Also, Arms Lore started at 87.5, finished at 91.9 - total of 4.4 in gains - very very slow after 91.

I was thinking about getting discorded by a satyr and running oil cloths to 120. I still need a 120 scroll, but that's how I had to gm lockpicking after 95. I imagine I will have to do oil cloths till about 105 so I can still make oil cloths in discord, but it should increase the difficulty considerably making skill gain possible to 120.

Can anyone confirm?

Well, maybe it's just me, but am using tons of leather without any significant skillgain. Went through 25k leathers (recycles included) so far and got to 117.8 crafting studded gloves/bustiers/female armor.

Am kinda new to the game, is there some kind of cap like "max 0.2 skillgain per 30 minutes" or something like that?

Edit: Well, I hit 120 Tailoring today. The skillgain was very f***ed up. I've used a grand total of 19k leathers from 118.4 to 120. The worst situation been at 119.7, where I've went through 4.5k leathers without any skillgain. Then got the last .3 within 15 combines. NOT fun at all.

I kinda lost track, but I've used about 45-50k leathers (recycles not included) from 115 to 120.

I sped up to 115, and I'm going thru the same thing, spent 1k leathers so far and haven't broken 115.1 since my last gain, and that took nearly 1k leathers as well, switching it up, making different stuff, and I'm totally frustrated.

I could have done it all with zero leather. I got disorded from Satyr and followed him around for 2 or 3 hours to finish the 117+ section.

I had already spent some time with leather and realised that was not a good option. Satyr drops you back down to about 85 tailoring and you make oil cloths again.

I made Legendary this morning.
From 104.1 to 117.0 I made elven shirts.
117.0 to 120 studded Hiro sode.
I used a little over 21K in hides. Sorry I didn't keep a more accurate count. But it was very close to 21K.

Elven shirts seem to work must better than cloth ninja hoods for my gains about 110. They also take less material which makes them an even better bonus. When I get to 115 I'll probably do the satyre thing and keep burning cloth.

I think it works the same as elven shirts...since u get 12 clothes back from ninja hoods...only 1 cloth loss

I read about the stayr discord thing
wonder if it'll work...dont really want to spend $ on leather
