OOC- Guys I Might be slow to post till the end of the month. Broad band some how erased the registration for my computers internet connection so until someone comes over to fix it, (They say around the end of the month) I don't have internet in my house.

IC-

The warriors that decided to stay were given rooms in the temple. Also It was Explained to about his family and parents. His father was the brother of the former king. At Kysh's birth the childless king adopted Kysh as his heir and naming him his own son according to the custom of the people. Yet not wanting to take the child from his real parents the king sent him and his parents off so that Kysh's parents could raise and train the boy for the resposibilities that would be his.

Kysh found all that intreasting but what really struck him was what he learned about his parents. Aside from being the Kings brother, Kysh father was also what was called The Knight of Virtues. The change rod, which both Kysh and his father used is part of what made a Knight of Virtues. Kysh learned that the Change rod could not only transform into any wepon the owner wished but could imitate the magical proporties of any magical wepons it comes in contact with. His fathers rod had come in contact with each of the swords of virture ( Swords like that of Neph that each had magical properties related to the spicific virture the sword reperesents), there for he could use all the properties simply by transforming his sword to the image of the sword he wished to use.

Kysh then learned that his father was kill so that an evil necromancer that ruled both Blood and Ankh dungeons could steal it. Yet the necromancer did not know of the exsistance of a second change rod. Kysh's change rod was created by Kysh's mother becaues only people with the rare magical powers that Kysh's mother and Kysh had could make such wepons.

Kysh learned further that the powers that he had was related to the magic that was used by the Meer Mages but his powers had a much larger scale.

After Learning all this Kysh went to sleep, choosing to sleep in the room with the other warriors from the Inn. As they slept Lamas came silently into the room and took Kysh's rod from Kysh's cloak where it was kept. After about 10 minutes he returned and returned the Change rod to it's place. He then turned and started to leave, a floor board creeking quietly as he did.

Watching the man come for the rod and then leave, only to return. He stayed laying down, his head slightly up against the wall, half sitting and half laying it might seem. He spoke in a quiet voice, not wishing to wake the others, but it was above a whisper as well.

"It is an interesting rod isn't it? Truly beautiful weapon." He says no more, his navy blue eyes looking the man over.

Responding quietly Lamas said, "Yes it is. The boys mother was very wise to make it. We have just added the powers of our own swords of virtures to it but his rod has still touched far fewer magical wepons then his fathers change rod, the rod that is now in enemey hands. I'd get some sleep. Tomarrow we must work hard to get our defences ready."

Lamas then silently left the room.

The next morning they gathered to plan for the battle. The townspeople would have to seek refuge in the basements of the temple and palace seeing how the city walls offered little protection against the flying demons. While they wee planing a elf in a palace uniform entered, "Excuse me but the queen is requesting to see the young prince."

Lamas murmured to himself under earshot of the messenger, "Odd... I wonder how she learned he was here," then speaking louder, "Neph escort the boy to the queen please."

"Yes of course," Came Neph's reply.

Kar slept that night, but it was of battles and fighting. Nothing he cared for at the time, but he woke after only the beginning of the dream. He had met with the others, but when the Elf arrived, Kar insisted on going with Kysh.

"I wish to be near him. I don't care how well you have guarded him. I mean no disrespect to Neph, but I do wish to be at least near the boy, not even in view if you don't see fit."

Kar waited for an answer, though his navy blue eyes told that he would not back down from his wants.

"Where am I," were the first word that Gad spoke as he woke up. Then looking around the room saw a man sitting near the bed where Gad lay. Recognizing the man Gad suddenly sat up, "You!! What I'm I doing here?!!"

The older man responed, "I wondered the same thing when I first saw you. At first I thought you had returned to try to kill me again but then you just collapsed on my door step. Your shoulder where your arm was, was bleeding heavily. I was then faced with a choice, I couldn't leave you on my door step getting blood everywhere, so I could've either dragged you out back and bueried you or tend to your wounds. I had you half way to the back when I remembered your perents had been good friends and had left you in my care when they where killed, so for them, you still live."

Gad Glared at the older man, "Don't speak of my parents. If you were truly loyle to them you would have helped me kill the people that killed them instead of trying to keep me from becoming an assassin like my parents were."

"Your parents did not want you living the life that they lived. I merely tried to fulfill their wish that you not become an assassin like we were. But I will not argue with you now. I belive we both still have the scars, left from the last time we had this conversation.

"So tell me, are you going to try to kill that boy again or are you going to go into hiding for awhile?"

Gad looked strangly at the older man and asked, "What are you talking about 'going into hiding' and how do you know about the boy I've been trying to kill?"

The older man smiled slyly as he answered, "Oh did I forget to mention. Your previous boss has put money on both your head for failure to kill the boy and put a price on the boy's head as well. Just becaues I'm no longer an assassin doesn't mean I haven't kept my contacts in the guild."

Gad almost screamed, "He put a price on MY head!!! Kwan will die for this insult!!"

The man smiled again, "That will be hard to do with out your sword hand."

Gad started to get up, "I already know how I can kill him, and I might be able to settle another score at the same time. Where is my sword?"

"On my frount steps where you dropped it. Your sword, it would seem, only likes being held by you. I couldn't move it."

(Back at Mantis)

Kysh, Neph and Kar entered that palace. Before leaving to go to the palace Lamas had given Kysh some new cloths seeing how the clothes he had brought had been torn and damaged during his fight with Gad. Lamas had told Kysh that the cloths had been made by his mother and had the same power as his staff, to be changed at will to any size, color, style, or durability that the wearer wanted. Kysh had decided to keep the same style of cloths he had gotten at the Inn. Brown shirt and pants with a green cloak.

The Queen was waiting out side her room, "It's about time," she said glaring at Neph and Kar, "I'd like to speak to the boy in my room."

She allowed Kysh to enter her room but then turned to the other two," I'd like to speak to him alone."

Neph started, "Your highness I'd....."

"I said I will talk to him alone human, you will wait here!" The queen interrupted and closed the door.

Neph stared at the door for a moment and said to himself, "Never in my many years here have I been addressed by my race," then turning to Kar asked, "What do you think of that?"

OOC-well I got my internet issues worked out finnally. All the rain here the past couple weeks flooded our cable connection out side. We got everything fixed and the internet works great again. YAY!

Kar simply grinned in return to Neph's question before dissapearing. The navy blue eyes glinting as he slid next to Neph, "Wanna see what they are talking about? Comon, it will be fun. Personally, I don't trust her. What is so important that she doesn't wish us to hear?"

With that Kar appeared, now wearing a navy blue colored cloak, the sign of the assassin's guild on the back. He quickly opened the door to the queen's chamber, but nobody was there if Kysh or the queen were to look at the now ajar door.

Kar quickly slipped into the shadows, cloaked in his own shadows, that might seem a mystyery to some. He quickly moved along, to the darkest corner he could find, and waited.

OOC:The new, more secretive Kar, is just me showing myself. A lot has happened when a friend got in a car wreck recently. I've just been harboring my feelings a lot lately, so this is where the new Kar comes from. Just my personality changing, so his does as well since he is a fantasy character designed after my own morals and beliefs. Whether Neph decides to be part of the little intrusion or not is up to you Kysh, but if he is, then he'd be cloaked to the normal eyes, Elven or not.
I'll explain in more detail later. I need meh sleep, a lot of time at the hospital, they don't have very comfy chairs, also the reason for the short posts.

Neph sliped into the room. Both Kysh and the queen had their backs to the door and Kar had opened and closed it with absolute silence.

Neph watched closely as the queen directed Kysh to a chairat the far side of the room. The queen followed as Kysh walked over to the chair. As they walked the queen removed a hidden dagger from her garments. The held the dagger over Kysh's back preparing to strike the boy. Before she could strike Neph revealed himself and yelled demanding, "Your highness what are doing?!!!"

Both the queen and Kysh spun around and Kysh seeing the dagger still in position to strike jumped away from the queen removing his change rod from the inside of his cloak.

"You fool of a human! How dare you come in here," was the queen's reply.

Neph demanded again drawing his sword, "I asked you what you are doing!"

The queen answered, "The kingdom should go to one of MY children, but that fool of a king was unable to give me any. Instead he chose the son of his beloved brother to be his heir. Kwan promised me that he would give me an heir if I would kill the king and the boy and unite this kingdom with his."

Neph stared in disbelief, "You are the one who killed the king. And you would betrey this people to Kwan?"

"Kwan is a great leader. He has also been given great powers over demons. Only a fool would fight him, and for the wise he gives great gifts," the queen answered him. With her last words her body began to change. Her features began to become more demon like and suddenly wings began to form behind her.

As soon as Neph realized what she was turning into he turned to Kysh and yelled, "Kysh listen to me your-"

The queen, now a succubus strikes at Kysh but Neph is using the power of his sword to protect him.

"-rod's power is based on the same power that you have to change your form you can-"

The queen now lunges towards Neph with lighning speed and he is unable to finish speaking as she stabs her claws deep into Nephs stomech and then slashes his cheast deeply.

Kysh watched horrorfied as Neph's limp body fell to the ground. The succubus had moved with such speed he had had no time to react. Yet Kysh had no intention of not acting at all. The rod in his hand had changed in to a bow and as the queen turned to Kysh she was met by a bolt of light slamming into her own cheast. The bolt, while strong enough to kill men, did little damage to a succubus, and after the queen took a moment to inspect her wound and seeing that there was little damaged looked up to see Kyshcharging her now holding a double bladed staff.

The queen did not move and as Kysh swung the blade at her she merely grabed the staff and lifted it and Kysh up into the air and slamed him into a wall. Laughing she picked up the dazed child up by the neck and said, " and for you my young nephew I think I will drain your life energy. Good bye"

Kar waited, watching to see how Neph would handle it. But seeing the queen turn to a demon, then strike Neph down, he grimaced in spite of himself. When she threw Kysh against the wall, he lost it. The dark blue stones on the kemp necklace began to spin, nothing more than a blurr as he dropped his cloak to the ground.

He stepped forward, from the shadows now in a slow manner and unsheathed his daggers from their sheaths on his waist. Now the necklace, the three stones, spun in a blurr about his neck, looking like a chainsaw that might cut his head off. But the necklace stayed a perfect distance from his neck, like a magnet held it there, but at the same time, would not allow it to get any closer.

The blades in his hands, too, began to glow a feint blue. The navy blue eyes that were once kind, now darker than usual and had small white lines bleeding into them, which would be recognizable as veins.

"I'm going to have to ask you to let the boy go. But I know your kind, you'll just say no, ask who I was, then try to kill me. Or maybe you'll be different and try to kill the boy, ignore me, let me drive my blades through your back and amputate anything that can be used as a weapon." He lets a little mischievous grin cross his face.

"So let's just get to the part where I say leave the boy alone, and you attack me, okay?" He moved forward, his eyes on the succubus while speaking to Kysh.

"You okay?"

Kysh would have answered Kar but with Kar's words the grip on his throat only intensified to the point it felt like it was going to snap his head off.

The queen only laughed at Kar, "I could snap his neck before you could get close enough to do anything."

Kysh was starting to feel panic for want a air, he couldn't barely try to think about what Neph had been trying to tell him but the thought of him mentioning his ability to alter his own shape. Kysh suddenly had an idea and his eye's turned to a red glow as a small horn suddenly apppeared coming out of the frount of his throat.... right through the succubus' hand. She screamed in pain and dropped Kysh and he rolled away from her, the horn on his throat and the red glow in his eyes both dissapering.

He rolled over near where Neph's body was. There he just laiy, breathing hard and cluching his throbbing throat, unaware of anything else now going on in the room.

Tristan's travels led him to a remote farmhouse, somewhere outside of Yew.

<font color=006400>"You can't stay here you know. It is only trouble for the both of us."</font color=006400>

"I know Raganzi, I didn't come to stay here, I only came to find out more about that night."

<font color=006400>"The details of it are etched in my mind clearly... too clearly..."</font color=006400>

"What happened to her?"

<font color=006400>"My men and I were in the castle, we were liberating it, when a portal opened, from it stepped a tall man, with dark eyes. From the looks of him, I'd say one of your dark knights."</font color=006400>

"I disbanded the knights when I left, they were no more."

<font color=006400>"I said he looked like one of your dark knights. When he arrived he immediately killed two of my men. They were skilled fighters Tristan and he slaughtered them like they were sheep."</font color=006400>

"His face... did you see his face?"

<font color=006400>"Barely. He worn a helm adourned with jewels that covered most of his face, except those haunting eyes... </font color=006400>

"Were you able to fight him off?"

<font color=006400>"Yes, but we were too late - he already did what he set out to do...</font color=006400>

"What do you mean?"

<font color=006400>We had rounded the women and children up in the castle to keep them safe from battle, but he knew where they were... All of them..."</font color=006400>

"So this is the fall of my people... For years I have blamed myself... Their bodies, did you see them?"

<font color=006400>"Yes."</font color=006400>

"Thank you Raganzi, I should have spoken to you a long time ago."

<font color=006400>"That you should have Tristan Knight. That you should have."

(OOC:) Hopefully you all didn't forget I was here. As I am now reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens for English (boring and long as hell) I've had less time to post. Backtracking a little Elowan and Aravel were with Kysh and Neph, but they weren't in the queen's room. I think also someone refered to Aravel as an elf in an earlier post, he's a 27 year old human and Elowan's a 247 year old Wood Elf. Both rangers, Aravel's a frost ranger. Gosh I keep saying this. (not annoyed tho) Mostly cuz new people keep coming. But now I've also gotta keep showing, not telling in my writing...

(IC:)
A quarrel thudded into the succubus's form as she reeled away from Kysh's horn.
"Quite the entrance that was!" said Elowan to Aravel as they ran to Kar and Kysh. "No introduction, and if you were going for stealth, then at least hit her head! Or let me shoot instead, my shot with the bow far exceeds yours with the crossbow!"
"My apologies, but the transition from an elven queen to a succubus is not something that one sees often! I am suprised that you were not startled," replied Aravel.
"You think I wasn't? T'was all I could do to keep my hands from releasing the bowstring. But that is what seperates the good warriors from the bad-self control."
The queen's chamber was large and lavish, and they then reached Kysh and Karadur.
Seeing Neph hurt again, they both lay down their weapons and set to work. Aravel being more experienced in emergency healing than Elowan, he was immersed in his work (and blood), but then Elowan stood, and looked at the succubus, laying still but possibly not dead. A horn through the head would kill many things, but demons are a curious group of beings.
"Can we be sure that it is dead?" Elowan asked.

Kar looked at Aravel and Elowan for a split second. The necklace spinning wildly about his neck, his twin daggers still glowing blue from the force they were emitting. He moved over to the succubus in a blurr and with a quick and agile slice, pop. Off with her head. He kicked the body a few times and looked up as the sentries outside came into the chamber.

"Oh joy." Was all Kar could spit out as he diminished the magic in his blades and necklace. He looked at Neph and shook his head, then to Kysh before quickly hurrying over to the boy.

"How is he?" He asked Aravel.

Kysh started to get up. Other then a sore throat he was ok. Yet looking over at Neph he could see that he wasn't ok. He wasn't breathing. Kysh tried to stand but his head was still spinning and was forced to sit back down. At that moment Lamas walked into the room.

Lamas looked first at Kysh then at the dead succubus and then at Neph. With out saying anything and showin no emotion on his face he walked over to Neph's body. Kneeling down he said, "I will tend to Neph. He placed on hand on Neph and with the other hand he grasped the handle of his sword. The symbol of spiretuality on the hilt of the sword began to glow as did Lamas' hand. After a few moments Neph began breathing again. "Take him to the healers," Lamas told the sentries.

Again Lamas looked at the body of the succubus, "So we finnally know the king's killer." Then looking at the rest, "I came to alert the queen that the demon army was moving and would be here in about 25 minutes. Some how I think she already knew that."

Then looking at Kar, Elowan, and Aravel he said, "As soon as I learn all that happened here I am sure I will owe the three of you my thanks, so I give it now. Now I need someone to take Kysh down to the basement and guard him and the rest of the women and children that are now takeing refuge there. When the demons attack they will attack from the air not from the sides. So our defense will focus on defending the palace and the temple. We have many archers on the roof now but we lack warriors to protect them. The roof will be our frout line so if anyone wishes to accompeny me there they are most welcome."

Elowan and Aravel both agreed to accompany Lemas. Elowan's strength was in the bow, while Aravel's was in the sword and sheild. His magical glacial sword would also cut through deamons much easier. They both agreed to aid Lemas, and awaited Karadur's word before they would take up battle stations.

First the sky dissapeared, then the horrible shriking of imps could be heard. The demon army covered the entire sky over the valley where the hidden city lay... a city that was no longer hidden. Soon deamons could be seen in with the imps and a few could enven see the harder to spot succubi, but every one noticed when the horrible figure of a balron decended and stood with his guards in meadow outside the city. With a roar from the balron the flying demonic army decended, and the battle was begun.

-----

Kysh heard the explosions from magic as the battle began. He at in a corner of the palace basement with hundreds of other women and children. As he sat turned away from the other people so that no one would notice his eyes glowing green. He was spreading his senses to all the animal minds he could, looking for a creture both able and willing to help them. Finnally his mind touched the mind of a powerful creture, at first the creture took no intreast in helping a city of elves and humans, but when Kysh communicated who their enemy was, the creture suddenly had more intreast in the battle. So mind to mind Kysh and this creture began forming a plan.

OOC- finnally got my internet fixed AGAIN! I wish I wouldn't have to do that every couple weeks. Any way, as far as this battle goes I'm looking to you guys to help make it intreasting. Let your imaginations run wild, I only ask you hold off attacking the balron for a little while, I have something cooking for him. Other then that feel free to kill, be killed, or destroy a few buildings.

The demons drew closer. Elowan had taken some of the arrows that were available from a storeroom and stuffed his quiver full of them, and took as many as he could fit in one hand. He would need them.
Running up to the roof of the temple, he joined the many others up there. He saw Aravel gathered with the rest of the Melee fighters, ready to deal with any demons that landed atop the temple roof.
"Hold!" came the shout of the commander of the elves.
"Hold!!!" It came with increasing urgency as the demons drew closer, and some of the archers could get nervous and release.
"HOLD!!!" came the third shout. The demons were only about a half mile away, and the front parts of the town, some of the houses were being destroyed by destracted demons.
"LOOSE!!" the commander shouted. All the archers loosed their arrows as one, and the front, second, and third lines of demons, imps, and a few succubi fell. The demons then broke whatever order they had, many of the cowardly imps going into town and lighting the houses on fire, the more powerful demons heading toward the main point of resistance. A large one hovered above the temple before casting down a gigantic ball of explosive fire onto the temple, which was blocked by a human wizard's magical shield. The fireball dissapated, and the wizard countered with a bolt of lightning from the heavens. Another quicker demon swooped down and ate him.
Elowan and the other archers tried to fend off as many demons as they could while conserving arrows. The melee fighters were not in much of a better state. Aravel being a specialist in not only cold climates but cold magic he was in high demand, and his glacial sword's magic was heavily taxed. Many imp heads rolled and many deamons bellowed in pain and anger from his stinging sword.
Elowan's keen eyes spotted something headed toward the tower. A lesser demon, was leading a large red monster to the temple, by way of an obviously magical chain around the monster's neck. As it drew closer Elowan could make out its shape as a dragon.
Now Elowan had a large an interesting history with dragons. He considered them majestic and powerful creatures not to be troubled, but when they attacked him, he was more than willing to send a few bowshots to its eye or sword cuts to its legs. Yet sometimes the dragon got the best of him, and Elowan could keenly remember* the time in Trinsic when a dragon's fire burned off the hair on his head.
As the lesser demon landed on the temple, with the enslaved dragon being towed behind him, a few well aimed bow shots to the demon's head and Aravel's sword cuts to its legs brought it down. With the demon's death the magical chain seemed to lose its enchantment, and it turned into what appeared as a normal iron chain. Aravel then stared in amazement as Elowan, ever the interesting elf in times of battle, leaped upon the chain and held on as the dragon began flying away, its slavery to the demons ended for the time being.
Aravel didn't have much time to think as several imps swarmed him (quickly delt with), but he ran down the stairwell, and out the temple into the street. Chaos was everywhere as buildings collapsed in flames, some exploding, showering timber and stone everywhere. Fountains were enchanted by some of the demons to flow with acid instead of blood, and so their stone confines were melted and the acid flowed through the street. Despite all this Aravel managed to make it to a stable. Many of the animals were frightened or had broken out of their stalls. Aravel looked toward the back, where the bigger animals were kept by their tamer owners. He spotted several nightmares, a young drake, swamp dragons, and finally what he was looking for. A gryphon, one from the lands of Brittania. Even better, it was a mountain gryphon! Aravel looked at it, and despite the raging chaos going on all around him, managed to establish a mental link to the animal. He had only ridden a gryphon once before, but he'd do it again. He reassured the gryphon as best he could and then led it out of the stable, taking off and into the air, mainly staying at low altitude until he got out of the city. Had he risen higher, the demons would have assuredly saw him and swarmed him like bees on sugar. He managed to get out of the city. Near the horizon, perhaps a mile away, he saw a dragon and a small black line that was going down from its neck that had to be the chain. And at the bottom of that chain, he could barely make out the figure of his (slightly crazed at times) friend Elowan. Shaking his head in disbelief, he urged his gryphon onward toward the dragon. What was that elf up to??

(OOC:) *Von Fanel may remember this.

With all the other women and children minds on the battle above no one noticed Kysh as he slipped out. Climbing the stairs he went over to the doors. They were being guarded and Kysh didn't think the guards would be willing to let him out. Kysh walked over to a window which had the wooden shudders in the inside locked to keep any Imps from coming through the windows. Kysh opened it and slipped outside. His eyes continued to glow green as he used the eyes of all the animals in the valley to help him see all parts of the battle. Kysh got sight of the Balron standing outside the city in the meadow surrounded by his deamon guards. Kysh shuddered at the thought of anyone having to fight that moster. He hoped that if his plan worked that no one would be forced to fight it.

He began to creep down an ally trying to keep him self hidden from the Imps. There were fires every where and also fighting every where and he found it diffecult to remain unseen. He began to near the temple when suddenly a swarm of imps came flying down the street. The imps stopped and hovered for a moment, prehaps surprised to see such a young elf walking the streets in the middle of battle, then one attacked. In a blur Kysh dropped his shoulder bag and had a double bladed staff in his hands and through the body of the imp. The other imps hesitated at the sudden appereance of a wepon and the death of their companion which gave Kysh the chance to attack. Almost as if he were dancing Kysh passed through the group of imps and as he passed wings and arms and a couple heads fell to the ground. One or two imps got spells off but Kysh's cloths that Lamas had given him, (which had the same abilitys as his change rod) absorbed most the the energy from a lightning bolt and explosion.

No sooner had he finished that group of imps the two more groups showed up. Turning his rod from the Double bladed staff to his bow he reached into his hip pouch and brought out the small nitched stones that he used. Putting the nitch of the stone on the string he pulled back and released three bolts of energy. As three imps fell from the sky Kysh fired another set, and then a third, each time dropping three imps. The energy bolts from his bow, however, was attracting attention and soon he had a whole mess of imps and a few deamons closing on him. Kysh decided it was time dissappear for a bit. Still firing shots off with his bow he began to run.

Lamas noticed a group of imps suddenly gathering a few blocks away from the Temple. He couldn't see anything on the street from the roof of the temple but he thought he had seen some bolts of energy coming from somewhere on the ground.

"Kaile!" He called to a warrior that was the Knight of Valor, " There is something going on down on the streets over there. Go see what is happening. But be careful. We can't afford to lose many more warriors if we are to last until help comes from the Etheral warriors."

As Lamas finished speaking a group of Imps came near him. Lamas held up his sword to them and the symbol of Spirtuality lit up. The imps screamed as if they were in pain upon seeing the light from the sword and fled. Lamas turned to Kaile again, "What are you waiting for. Go now!"

Kaile nodded and turned and left with a few elves.

Kar watched the action taking place before him, and to his surprise, the Elves might have been losing. He quickly dodged an arrow from the advancing army and then turned to see it strike yet another Elf. He cursed under his breath and looked around for those he knew quickly, but before his search could be completed he was struck by a hand it seemed. When he didn't feel pain, he brought one of the daggers around and came to a blinding halt as what seemed nothing more than a cloak stood next to him.

Surprise in his eyes, Kar dropped his dagger, when he needed it the most it might have seemed. His halt had given an imp the perfect timing to take a hit at him, but the figure was there in a flash, the imp's neck snapped. Kar quickly brought his guard back up and with it an imp on the end of his weapon. He lowered the blade and the small imp slid off slowly. Before he could attack the next one, he was quickly pulled behind, where the Elven army quickly filled in the gap like water.

"What are you doing here?!" Was the only thing Kar could manage when he realized who it was.

"I thought I might follow you around and keep you out of trouble." Came the raspy reply.

Before Kar could come up with something to retort the statement, the figure was moving. He moved quickly, like smoke through the trees on a windy day. He was nothing more than a cloak, or that is all Kar had ever seen of him anyways. Without hesitation, Kar followed.

Right as Kar ran around a corner, so did Kysh. Body hit body and then both hit ground. Kar quickly sat up, cursing any word he could find, thinking it was his mysterious friend he had run into. But when he caught sight of the youth, he quickly bit the words off.

"Kysh?" He spoke quickly, like an excited little boy, "What are you doing out here?"

Kysh stood up and responded to Kar, "Umm right now it might be better to do less talking and more running," and as he finished a huge swarm of imps came flying from around the corner down the street aways.

Five imps dropped as Kysh let another volly go from his bow, but imps continued to pour from around the corner. Kysh and Kar moved quickly away from the imps but soon found their way blocked by a number of large Deamons. They were trapped.

In what happened next Kysh lost track of Kar. The Deamons attacked and one took a swing at Kysh with it's large arm. Kysh ducked the blow and doing a sumersult between the Deamons legs stood up behind the monster and turning his change rod into his double bladed staff stabed the creture in the back of the knee. The monster screamed in pain and Kysh was unable to dodge the Deamons wing and was swept away from the monster and flung into a wall of a near by building. Getting up quickly he stood and slashed the wings off of a few imps that decided a Elfish child would be easy prey.

Seeing that the deamon he had injured was unable to walk Kysh finished the monster off with a blast from his bow. He then took a moment to see how Kar was doing.

Kar made a quick slice at one of the imps and continued on another when he was knocked sprawling by a demon. As quickly as he could get up, he was also flattened by another imp that grew brave enough to land on his back. In the next instant he wasn't able to keep up as his cloaked counter part dashed from the shadows and into the imp. It was dead before it hit the wall ten feet away.

Then the cloaked figure went after one of the two remaining demons, who took a swing at him. The demon, being a large barrel chested creature, wasn't naturally fast, and was decapitated in a heart beat as the figure scurried around it's body and up like a flea on a dog. The black cloak, the person was wearing, became no more than a blur as he went after the next, and last, demon.

Kar was up now, fighting off imps with his twin daggers, he took a quick glance at Kysh to see if he was okay. Seeing that he might as well be sleeping, he finished off the remaining imps he saw. When Kar looked back over at the cloaked figure, it stood on the top of the second demon's corpse, something bloody in his hand. As Kar finally got closer, he saw it was the demons throat, dripping with thick blood.

"Nice, I'm glad you got a work out." Kar grinned at the being and the being shrugged and motioned to Kysh.

"Oh, Kysh!" Kar looked over his shoulder and motioned the young Elf over.

WHAAAAAAOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
The wind screaming in Elowan's ear sounded like this. Hanging from a Dragon's chain that was bound to its neck, Elowan was being towed through the sky as the once-enslaved dragon flew away over Illshenar. The wind screamed in his ears, he was chilled through his armour, and if he opened his eyes the air would dry them and crack them before he could blink.
And Elowan intended to kill this dragon.
He hung onto the chain, nearly helpless. What would he do? What was he thinking? How would he land without dying?
As an answer to his thoughts, there came a distant shout. He looked downwind, where he could open his eyes and saw a figure. It was...Aravel! But how could Aravel fly?
This question was put out of his mind for a moment as the dragon turned in its flight. As it turned it noticed the weight on its chain. Elowan did not weigh much, but once the dragon saw that it had a humanoid clinging to it, it knew that it was in for some trouble. Humanoid like elves, dwarves, and humans were always trying to kill it. And this was a corrupted dragon, forced to serve great demons. It roared and tried to shake Elowan loose. Desperate, the elf held on to the chain. Where was Aravel? What would he do? And how would he get back to the fight?

"Hi Kar," Kysh said breathing hard after fighting the Imps. Kysh was just about to ask who the wierd guy with was when he was interrupted by a roar.

Looking up They both saw a group of deamon's and succubi came at them. Kysh's eyes flashed green as he quickly touched the minds of the animals in the city. From their view he got an overview the the battle. It wasn't going good. The outer wall had fallen to the Balron and his guards and the demon army was storming the city in strangth now. Kysh needed to finish his plan quickly. but first he need to get away from this new danger.

Kysh, Kar and the other guy prepared to meet the the Deamons and Succubi when a flight of arrows struck the demonic group. Looking to the source of the arrows. They saw the Knight of Valor with his small group approching. The knight of Valor yelled to them as they approched, "Kysh! Make your Rod take the shape of the sword of Spirituality, the Sword that Lamas has. Do it and hold it to the Demons.

Kysh didn't hesiatate. his rod took the form of Lamas' sword and as he held it to the attacking Demons it glowed a blinding light. The Deamons and the succubi shrank back from the light while The Elfish group attacked them. After they were killed the Knight of Valor turned to Kysh, "You were suposed to stay in the basement of the palace. If I hadn't found this on the street a few streets back," He held out Kysh's shoulder pack that Kysh had left on the street when first attacked by Imps, " I would've thought you were still there. By the way the pack is empty what did you have in it?"

"The pack is what I use to carry Metal in. Metal left the pack after I lured the Imps away. He's waiting for me out side the walls, and I how did my roddo that light thingy with the deamons?" Kysh responded and then asked.

The Knight stared a few moments, "Were you not paying attention when Lamas explained that your rod obtains that magical properties of any magic wepons it come's in contact with? We took your rod while you were sleeping a few nights ago and gave it the powers of our swords, and I KNOW that you are NOT planing on going to the wall. The Wall is under attack by the Balron and is about to fall."

"Actully," Kysh answered as he began to walk away, "The wall has already fallen that's why I need to go stop the Balron."

"Stubborn fool of a child, you can not fight a Balron. You are going back to the palace where it is safe right now."

The Knight began to follow Kysh with the intention o f force him back to the palace but just before he caught up to the boy, Kysh walked under the shadow of the tree and suddenly dissapeared. The Knight of Valor stood there stunned for a moment then realization hit him. On his way to the City the boy had fought an assassin with the sword of Chaos. The Sword of Chaos gave it's wielder the power to travel instantly from one shadow to another shadow anywhere. He had just told Kysh that his rod had all the powers of every sword it came in contact with, including the power to travel from on Shadow to another.

Shaking his head the Knight of Valor looked at Kar, "This Boy is going to get himself killed."

************************************************************

Kysh appeared in the Shadow of the Balron. The Balron was in the back lines so none of his guards were paying mush attention behind them and with Kysh being so little he went unnoticed. Well not for long Kysh decided. Turning his rod into a bow Kysh took a small notched stone from his pouch and fitted the notch on the string, pulled back, released, and watched the stone turn into a short beam of magic energy and strike the Balron in the back.

Roaring the Balron spun around looked left and right then down to see a small Elf child Standing befor him. Kysh looked up at the Balron and Said, "Tag you're It," and then ran.

The Balron wasn't about to let an Elf Child get away with such and insult. With a roar He persued. He tried to halt the child with Paralyzation spell but the child seemed to be trained in resisting magic. The Balron then tried to Kill the boy with a Flamestrick spell but at first sign of the flames Kysh turned the Shape Changing tunic that Lamas had given him into and armor of Ice which blocked out the flames and continue to run. By now the Balron had chased Kysh out into the field away from the city and the battle.

The Balron had just about caught up to the boy and wasabout to smash the boy when Kysh ran into the Shadow of a tree and dissapeared. The Balron stood there confused when he heard the voice yell, "Hey Ugly I'm over here."

The Balron looked and saw the boy standing in the shadow of another tree distance away. The boy was standing there looking at him. The Balron only saw him for a moment for as soon as the Balron saw the boy his eyes suddenly Glowed with a bright blue light, then the boy was gone covered in a huge cloud of mist that appeared where the boy was standing.

Lamas watched the mist appear from the top of the temple.
"What is that boy up to know?" he asked him self.

As the mist began to clear a deafening roar filled the air and echoed throughout the valley. A pair of multicolored scaled wings flapped and cleared the last of the mist revealing a huge dragon. As all watched Lamas was the first to give it a name, "an Ancient Wyrm."

In a moment the Huge Wyrm was on the balron. With all eyes on the Fight few if any noticed the form of a small elfish form standing where the Wyrm had appeared, standing perfectly still, eyes glowing a radiant blue.

Lamas wasted no time, he turned to the other knights defending the temple, "Spread the word to attack while the demons are still in shock and confused."

A Knight holding the sword of Justice spoke, "Even with surprise and a Ancient Wyrm attacking the Balron we don't stand a chance aganst an army of that size."

Lamas responded, "It's the only chance we have right now."

Meanwhile the balron getting over his shock was beginning to fight back. His wing was badly torn apart by the Wyrm's fireball. Now he tried to grab hold of the Wyrm's neck and started slashing at it with his claws. The Ancient Wyrm responed with a swipe with it's tail on the back of the balron's head. The balron was knocked backwards and took another powerful fireball to his stomech. He cursed himself for chasing that elfish boy so far from his guards that were now trying to reach their master. The Ancient Wyrm was charging for another attack when suddenly another cloud of mist formed around him. The mist hung there for a few moments then cleared showing that the Ancient Wyrm had vanished as it had appeared.

Unseen by those in the city the figure of the young elf collapsed at the same time the Wyrm Dissapeared.

The Demonic army in a rush to aid their master forgot about the enemy they had been engaged with. Now with to the threat to their master gone they now found themselves being attacked by the Elves and humans of the city. Many returned to attack the Defenders of the city but many now held back to defend their injured master.

************************************************************

The Slime Metal made his way through the tall grass to the tree where the Ancient wyrm had first appeared. There it found Kysh fast asleep, completly exausted from Summoning the Ancient Wyrm and mantaining it's presence there. The Ancient Wyrm had know desire to help the city but when Kysh had touched it's mind and revealed the preasance of a Balron the Ancient Wyrm had agreed to help solely for the purpose to help kill a balron that had been it's enemy for many long years, but Kysh lacked the power to hold it there for long.

As Metal sat there waiting for Kysh to wake up another form appeared in the shadow of the tree. It was a Man with only on arm holding a sword. Metal recognized the scent of the man as one who had attacked Kysh before and moved to attack the one armed man. With a wave of a sword the Slime found it's self unable to move. The man spoke to the Slime saying, "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt him. I'm just taking him to a place were he can rest up before confront a common enemy we have. Should he survive that confrotation then he might have somthing to fear from me."

Gad sheathed his sword and picked up Kysh with his one arm and put him on his shoulder. Keeping the boy balanced on his shoulder he moved his hand to the hilt of his Sword of Chaos, and dissappeared.

Gad reappeared a moment later in a cave far from the battle in a room with a few scattered books and a drawing of creture that appeared to be a cross between a horse and a dragon. He laid the boy down and then dissappeared.

Mean while at the hidden city, the battle continued....

With quick feet, Kar has disappeared with the other Elves that had come to the rescue of Kysh. Unable to contain his impatience with the boy, he paced back in forth at the top of the tower, the masked figure sitting close by.

“If you don’t stop, I’m going to cut your legs off Karadur Atani.” Came the quick, raspy threat from the cloaked being.

Kar stopped in mid step, and brought up his arms across his chest, one playing with his lower lip as he spun towards the cloaked one. “Oh, come now. You wouldn’t do that to me would you?” With a wicked grin, unlike that of Kar, he spun back around and kept pacing.

With a quick and agile foot protruding from the bottom of the cloak, Kar fell flat on his back in a flash. But, not as the cloaked person thought, Kar kicked up violently. He twisted his legs when it was dodged, and pushed up with his hands, looking like a break-dance move, and ends up on his feet in an instant.

“You fear for the boy too much Karadur.” The raspy voice spoke as he moved back to where he was sitting.

Kar spat out some blood that had pumped into his mouth after falling. “Maybe you worry too little for the boy Valg.” His mind coming to a halt as Valg’s hood feel back and a large grin came over the half face.

“You know something don’t you…?” Was Kar’s snap.

“Maybe.” Came the smug retort.

Neph awoke to the sound of war. The last thing he could remember was defending Kysh as the Queen attacked the boy after turning to a succubus. Opening his eyes he realized that he was in the basement of the palace, surrounded by women, children and the wounded.

He tried to get up but a healer restrained him saying, "You are still weak you must stay here."

"What's happening outside and where is Kysh?"

"The demonic army is attacking the city. As for the boy he was here at the beginning of the battle but I have not seen him for quite some time now."

Neph didn't have to guess as to where the boy had gone. In the short time he had known Kysh he learned that Kysh was hardly a boy to just sit back when he felt he could help.

Neph again tried to get up saying, "I must go. There will be wounded outside that needs me. Where is my sword?"

"Your sword is just inside the queen's chambers where you fell. After all you are the only one that can tounch the Sword of Compassion, but I highly recommend you stay here and rest. You..."

"Sorry I am need," Neph interrupted as he got up. Neph quickly left the basement and retrived his sword. Going to the roof he gave a quick yell of alarm as he looked over the city. Mush of the city was in flames. There was no fighting around the palace but it was obvious there had been fighting within the past feew minutes. Looking to the temple he could make out Lamas and the other Knights there still fighting, and looking further could see that the Demonic army controled the walls although it would seem the defenders of the city were attacking the walls trying to take it back. The Demonic army was clearly in a state of confusion.

"Neph what are you doing up here you should be down below resting," came a deep voice from Neph's right.

Looking to the Voice Neph was met with the ambassador from the Gargoyle City.
"Ambassador Grove'l, Why are you still here?"

The Large Gargoyle Destroyer answered, "My people owm much to your people and the people of britannia for saving our people. Lamas refused my offer to go to my city to bring aid, fearing for our own safety. Since I can't go for aid I decided I would stay here and fight with you."

"That was kind of you. Your arm in injured let me see it, Neph said was he stepped up to the large gargoyle. Pulling out his sword with his right hand he placed his left hand on the wound. The Symbol of compassion on the sword glowed for a moment and the wond on the Gargoyle's had dissapeared.

"Thank you," Grove'l said, "The deamons and succubi were about to wipe us out here on the palace roof. If that Ancient Wyrm hadn't appeared for a minute and attacked the Balron, they would have done it. Lucky for us the attack on their leader put them into confusion though I fear it will be a short confusion."

"Ancient Wyrm? What are you talking about?"

" An Ancient Wyrm appeared in a cloud of mist near the balron and attacked it. It only stayed for a minute then dissapeared in another cloud of mist but it was enough to give us a temporary advantage."

"Kysh," Neph whispered under his breath, " Grove'l, where did the Ancient Wyrm appear?"

"In the field."

"That means Kysh had to have been in the field and means he probly still is. Summoning an ancient wyrm would have taken all the energy he has. I'm going to go out there and look for him."

"Well," Replied the Gargoyle, "I'll go with you."

************************************************************

The demonic army was once again taking the offensive. Lamas looked over the burning city. They would be lucky to last another 20 minutes. The Deamons had brought out some fresh dragons and now had them on the defensive again. It seemed that all was lost. He began in his mind to create a plan to help the women and children to safety.

As they fought off yet another wave of imps from the top of the temple. He saw another group of demons approching from over the eastern mountains. It was a huge army and Lamas felt all hope leave him, until, he realized as the new army came closer that they were not demons. Their wings had feathers on them.... They were Ethreal Warriors!

The Ethreal Warriors now attacked the Demonic army from the rear and the demons, finding them selfs between and army of Elves and Men, and an army of Ethreal Warriors, went into instant confusion. Their lines began falling quickly to the power of the new army. Cheers began sounding from positions held by the defender.

Lamas turned to the other warriors on the temple roof, "Ok, now is the time to force them out of the city for good now. Attack!"

The Demonic army began to crumple before the Army of the Etheral Warriors. Then with the Elvish counter attack confusion spread quickly within the demonic ranks. The Imps were the first to begin fleeing from battle. The more powerful Deamons and succubi regrouped with the injured Balron and his guards. Seeing the battle lost and seeing themselves surrounded the Balron decided it was best to begin fleeing.

In the mist of this battle,Neph and the Gargoyle destroyer Grove'l Made their way to the last spot that Kysh had been seen. Under the shade of a treee in the tall grass Neph was the fist to come across Metal. In fact he almost stepped on the slime.

"Grove'l over here..... this is Kysh's slime.... but where is Kysh?"

"Maybe Kysh went somewhere else and the slime got lost?"

"I don't thik so. First Kysh can communicate mind to mind with animals over large distances. I don't see the animal losing track of him unless Kysh wanted him to. Second look at the grass right by here. Somone recently fell here. This is also where the anicent wyrm first appeared. Summoning an ancient wyrm would've left Kysh with out energy to move for a while. If he left someone took him. But notice how there is know tracks at all. Let's head back to the city and find Kysh's friends. Then we can try to put all this together."

Neph was about to turn to leave when he took a look at the slime wondering what to do with it. Maybe he should just let it be. Still considering he noticed something near the slime partially hidden by the grass. He bent over to get a closer look.

"uh oh," Neph stated then picked up the item, "Where ever Kysh is I hope it's safe."

He held up to item to Grove'l and revealed Kysh's Change Rod.

************************************************************

Kysh woke up to find himself in a cave. He lay there trying to remember what had happened and tried to figure out how he had ended up in a cave. He remembered the battle. He summoned the Ancient Wyrm to help, well the ancient wyrm didn't care much to help. It just wanted a chance at killing the balron which was the only reason it agreed to let Kysh summon it.

Kysh remembered that it was harder then he had thought to summon such a large creture and was only able to hold the creture in place for a short while. He then remembered collapsing and nothing else. So how did he get in this cave. He opened his senses to any animal nearby and was startled to sense a creture behind him looking at him.

Sitting up and turning to the creture Kysh found what appeared to be a cross between horse and a dragon. It was colored red and yellow. Kysh tried to remember, didn't his mother tell him about a creture like this once, a Kirid or kiran or Kirin or something like that. He couldn't remember the name.

Touching the cretures mind he quickly found that the creture was friendly and very intellagent, yet nervous. First Kysh sent a question to the cretures mind asking how he had gotten there. The creture didn't know.

Kysh then opened his senses alittle more to the other parts of the cave. It turned out that is was a very large underground passage with many cretures. Dragons, drakes, nightmares, and many more of the dragon/horse like cretures, Kysh was pretty surethey were called Kirins. There were also many monsters in there, elamentals.

Every creture Kysh touched with his mind seemed nervous yet is didn't seem to be the elementals that were making them nervous. Turning to the Kirin near him he asked the Kirin why all the animals in the passage were scared. He was answered with the images of evil mages and their undead and demonic minions comming into the passage and enslaving the animals, mostly dragons.

With that answer Kysh thought to himself, -Lamas said it was a Necromancer from ankh dungeon that had killed my parents and stolen my fathers change rod and that this same necromancer sent that demonic army from the blood dungeon. I wonder if this passage is connected to this ankh dungeon. That would explain where the demons got those enslaved dragons from. That ment he was sitting on the frount door of the man who had his parents killed and stole his fathers change r-... CHANGE ROD!!!! Where was his change rod.-

Kysh checked his cloak where the rod normally was then remebered he was still holding it when he summoned the ancient wyrm, which ment he would have dropped it when he collapsed.

"Great now what do I do?"

He sat there for a while trying to figure out what to do now. There wasn't much he could do with out his change rod. He wanted to help the animals here in the passage. They were being abused and he didn't like it. And to be truthful he wouldn't mind going after the man that sent an army to destroy his people... and had his parents killed.

As he sat there thinking wishing he could speak to people with his mind a communicate with his friends at the city a thought struck him. Maybe he couldn't communicate with them directly but maybe he could indirctly. Opening his senses up as far as he could and giving the chamber he was in a greenish color from the glow in his eyes he began searching. Soon he touched the mind of a familer creture. Metal was still sitting under the tree that Kysh had summoned the ancient wyrm. Though the slimes own senses he found the battle over. The city was in flames but he recognized Elves, men and Etheral warriors on the wall, and was relieved to find the city hadn't been utterly destroyed. Not wanting to waste time and already feeling tired from opening his senses over such large distances, he quickly communicated his requests to Metal.

************************************************************

Neph had found Kar and many of Kysh's friends on the roof of the temple. Some were missing, two had been last seen with a dragon, one being carried off and the other giving chase. With Kar was also a man that Neph didn't remember being with the original group that had entered the city with him. Not wanting to wast time Neph explained what he had found. No one there gave any ideas as to what had happened to Kysh, so they decided to go invetigate the area where the Rod had been found to see what they could find.

Just as they were standing up to leave Neph noticed the Slime suddenly approch. The slime came right up to Neph and in a flash a tendrail came up and snached the change rod from the hand that Neph had been holding it in.

"What th-!" Neph began to say then fell quiet as the slime suddenly dissappeared in a cloud of mist only to reappear a moment later without the rod. Metal then turned around and moved quickly towards the exit.

It took Neph a moment to realize what just happened, and he gave a chuckle when the realization hit him, "Well I'd say we don't have to worry about Kysh being unarmed anymore. Anyone else here intreasted as to where that slime is going in such a hurry?"

Kysh and "Hoppy", as Kysh had come to call the Kirin. approched the entrance to Ankh Dungeon. The entrance was being guarded by a number of undead sentries. A spell of some sort protected the dungeon from Kysh using his change rod to transport himself into the dungeon using the shadows like he had used aganst the Balron.

"Well, any ideas how we get in?" Kysh asked Hoppy, the mental answer he recived from the kirin was that it didn't know.

"Great," Kysh thought hard. There had to be a way past those guards. Kysh was pretty sure he could take those Bone knights but he didn't want every monster in the dungeon to know he was there. He needed something to get their attention. Maybe he could ask some help from the dragons in the Kirin passage. He knew that the dragons here wern't very nice to Humans or Elves but he also knew that the monsters from the dungeon had enslaved some of the drgons here and so the dragons were more angry with these monster then with him. It was worth a try.

Opening his senses he quickly found a few dragons near by. Mentally he explained what he was planning on doing and told them the benifits of helping him. Luckily the dragons, being the intellegent cretures they are, decided to help him.

Kysh remained hidden behind a rock and after a few minutes huge foot steps could be heard down the passage. The Bone knight s also heard the foot steps and drew their swords. In a moment two red dragons came into view and attacked the bone knights. A couple bone knight fell quickly to the power of the dragons but the bone knight decided they had enough numbers to capture these two dragons adn pressed their own attack. Soon the drgons began to retreat down the passage the bone knights pursuing.

Once the fighting had moved down the passage Kysh and Hoppy made a break for the dungeon entrance. As they entered the dungeon Kysh heard a large number of roars down the passage as two more dragons and 3 drakes ambushed the Bone Knight party. Kysh Mentally sent a thank you to the Dragons and entered the Dungeon. He was going to find the man who was responsible for all this suffering and end this war once and for all.

Kysh and Hoppy crept down the hall way. They had had to hide a few times from Undead cretures heading to the Kirin passage to deal with the Dragons. Each time Kysh sent the dragons a mental warning. The last thing he wanted was for them to be captured and enslaved, not after they helped him get in.

In... now that he was in where was he going? Kysh decided that in the future he really needed to plan better. He knew he was looking to the Necromancer that was the leader of this dungeon but he didn't know where to find him or even what his name was.

After wondering around for a number of hours hiding from monster and Evil mages he stopped to rest. Sitting down he turned to the Kirin, "Well what do you think Hoppy any ideas?"

Befor the creture could think an answer to Kysh a voice rang out from the door way, "Whose in here?"

Kysh jumped behind a table as the Kirin cast Invisable on it's self. A moment later 5 Evil mages came into view and despite Kysh's efforts to remain hidden was spotted, "You child how did you get in here!"

Kysh paused a second wondering what to do but then an idea hit him. He quickly thought an order over to Hoppy to say still and hidden till he called for him and placed his arm under his cloak where he kept his change rod. The Evil mages saw his Eyes glow green as they did when every he talked mind to mind with animals and recogonized him, "It's that boy Ammoron has been looking for. Grab him and search him for the Change Rod!!!"

Kysh attempted run but was quickly paralyzed by a spell then grabbed before he could resist the magic. The Mage's search revealed no change rod.

"Tell me elf child, where is that Change Rod. Master Ammoron desires it. Tell us and we may spare your life."

"I'm not telling you anything except you'll never find where I've hidden the rod. Kill me and it's lost forever to you."

"Stupid child! We'll see how brave you are when you come before the great necromancer Ammoron."

The mages carried Kysh down a few different hallways then into a large dark room. Upon entering He was thrown to the ground. Getting up he saw a man sitting on a chair with guards on either side of him. The man returned the gaze then spoke, "Well, well. You my Boy are a very hard person to kill. Now tell me. Where is that Change Rod your parents gave you?"

Neph entered the Kirin passage with those of Kysh's friends that had decided to come along. The Slime continued to lead them with out rest. Now he noticed the Slime had quickened it's pace. Neph suddenly had a bad feeling, "Ok guys I don't know how Kysh ended up in Ankh Dungeon but we need to hurry now."

Kysh faced Ammoron defiently and asked, "Why do you watn my change rod adn why did you kill my father for his?"

"Come child you should be able to appriaciate the power of a wepon that can imitate the magic power of any magic wepon it touches. Who ever holds that wepon can hold the magic of all magic wepons. To have two such wepons would make me twice as powerful. Now where is your change rod?!"

"I have it here with me," Kysh answered adn held out his right hand that was covered with a glove. In a Flash of light the glove dissappered and formed into a Double Bladed Staff, Kysh's favorite Wepon, "If you want my change rod The you will half to dual me. Winner gets both this rod and my Father's rod which you stole."

Ammoron just laughed at Kysh, "Why Should I dual you when I can just have my guards take it from you. Guards!"

The two guards behind Kysh took a couple of steps forward then stopped suddenly, stood still for a moment with looks of astonishment on their faces then collapsed forward revealing two daggers protruding from their backs.

Ammoron looked at them in amazement then looked at the other guards in the roo around him.... all of whom were face down on the floor. He began to cry out, "Wha-"

"Now now Ammoron," came a voice from the shadows, "the boy challenged you to a duel. Don't tell me you fear to duel this boy."

"Gad!!" screamed Ammoron, "you traitor. What have you done?"

"Me traitor? You are the one who put a price on my head. So who betrayed who? Anyways I shall find this duel very entertaining , for no matter who dies it will be someone I hate. So have your duel, and hurry for I get the winner."

"Misrable traitor I'll deal with you in a moment," then turning back to Kysh, "Now for you boy it's time to show you the power of a Necromancer."

Then With a few words the bodies of the guards suddenly became Bone Knights in a puff of smoke. There were 6 Bone knights and they gathered around Kysh.

Kysh watched them as they gathered trying to think of the best way to get through this alive. He decided now was as good as anytime to try out some of the different powers his rod had gained, "Time to see what the sword of valor can do," he whispered to himself as his rod took the form of the sword of valor.

Kysh attacked the nearest Bone Knight and was amazed at the speed he could move. In a flash the knight shattered before him. A nearby Bone Knight took a swing at him but with the speed he gained from the Sword of Valor he ducked under it easilly and brought up his own sword to the back of the knight cutting it in half. In a matter of seconds all six Bone Knights were a pile of bones at Kysh's feet.

"Well done boy. You might be harder then I thought," Ammoron said as he brought out the change rod that had once belonged to Kyshes father, "Now let's see how you do against me."

Elowan

Guest
Elowan's grip was slipping. His forearm muscles were getting tired very quickly, the stress of the situation taking more than he could give. But he heard the shout again. He turned so that the wind was blowing against his head and past his eyes so he could open them. He saw then what he could confirm was Aravel. He tried to shout to him, but his voice was lost in the howling wind. Suddenly the dragon shook with tremors that ran throughout its body, dislodging Elowan, who fell! Elowan then was jarred, his fall stopped, but this was only because his cloak had caught in the link between two of the gigantic iron chains. The dragon had turned around and was flying back toward the city. Although he wasn't falling anymore, Elowan was now being hung from his cloak by his neck. Only the fine Elven craftsmanship of the cloak and its pin, and Elowan's slenderness, kept the cloak from breaking. Aravel sped his gryphon on, and came up from under him.
"Jump! I've got you!" shouted Aravel.
But Elowan couldn't jump. And the lack of air took its toll. Elowan felt a burning sensation in his lungs, he was fatigued, how could Aravel expect that Elowan pull himself up, dislodge the cloak from the chain, and then jump, while nearly half dead and hanging onto a dragon's chain in roaring wind, the clouds he was in filled with miniscule ice crystals? It could not be done. Just die; just be released from this, he thought.
No.
Elowan was a Ranger, one that has survived for two hundred and forty seven years. He was a survivor. He could not die. He was one of the great, the few, the proud that had fought to ensure the world's safety. He would not die as a result of his own stupidity!
It did not matter that he was a minute away from death. It did not matter about his predicament or what his body told him, what pain he was feeling. Elowan pulled himself up by his cloak, then dislodged it from the chain links. Feeling a sense of warm relief that far exceeded any feeling that he had yet felt in his lifetime, he let himself drop. Aravel caught Elowan, and put him behind him, riding on the gryphon. Elowan had come more close to death than he had been before.
By now they were very close to the city. When Elowan looked back up at the dragon, its eyes had turned red. It had turned around because it was enslaved again, Elowan realized.
"You can thank me later," Aravel said jokingly, "but now we must resume our fight. The city has not yet been won, but it is very close. There may be reinforcements on the way. Drop me off near the stables, I'll find a horse and eliminate the fleeing land demons. You stay on the gryphon and take to the skies. Don't do anything stupid. I'll meet you in the healer's ward after the battle, the wounded will need our help."
"Agreed. Naamarie*," Elowan said. Aravel lowered the gryphon to about ten feet, jumped off and hit the ground running, heading toward the stables. Elowan didn't quite know how to handle a gryphon, but after a while he had established a ranger's bond with it, and he sensed the gryphon was friendly toward him, eager to aid in the battle. Elowan had it hover for a few minutes, and then he saw Aravel leave the stable, galloping on a snowy-white steed, his glacial sword out, cutting demons down left and right. Satisfied that Aravel could have his own fun, Elowan took out his bow, and ascended into the air, which was swarming with imps, gargoyles, winged demons, and the dragon that Elowan had had his little encounter with. Elowan fired his bow left and right, striking down the flying, retreating demons before they could get at him. Fiery demonic corpses were raining down from the sky onto the roofs of houses and the streets. And as a result, he was soon out of arrows. He landed onto a roof where a nearby archer had fallen in battle to seven imps. Elowan drew his two swords and cut them all down. When all that remained were little imp corpses, Elowan put his two swords down and picked up the arrows that the archer had. They were a little small for Elowan's bow, but they would have to do.
Suddenly an imp flew from the sky, snatched up one of Elowan's swords, and started flying away, cackling menacingly. It had watched its brothers fall, and it figured it could hurt the elf more by depriving him of the weapon needed to fight other demons. Elowan quickly took up his other sword, hastily throwing his bow and new quiver over his shoulder, and hopped on the gryphon, which headed after the imp. They soon caught up, and Elowan cut the imp down with his remaining sword. To his dismay Elowan's sword didn't fall to the street, but the imp was near a burning building, and it fell through the roof! Elowan cried out in dismay, but then steeled himself, trying to find another body that he could use for arrows, and maybe a sword. He scanned the ground quickly until he saw the body of an ethereal warrior. The life left it and it dissapeared, but it must have had corporeal weapons, because they did not disappear. Elowan flew down to inspect them. He saw that there was a hand-and-a-half, sword slightly curved and of elven make. There was also a quiver full of arrows, they were just the right length for Elowan's draw. Elowan said a quick thank you to the now gone warrior, filled his quiver with the arrows, and put his new sword across his back. It would not fit in his longsword sheaths.
With a renewed vigor, Elowan again ascended into the skies to, "try out" his new weapons. Aravel chased down hellhounds and earth-bound demons, snuffing out their hellfire with his glacial sword, taking their unholy life. The battle was going well for the defenders of the city.

Neph entered the Ankh Dungeon. It looked like there had been a battle at the entrance and by the look of the scorch marks it involved Dragons. The Slime seemed to have quickened it’s pace so Neph decided to do the same. As they walked through the hallway he heard what sounded like fighting. Motioning to the others to follow him he hurried around the corner to see a Kirin being attacked by a horde of undead. The slime seemed oblivious to the battle and quickly moved right through the middle of it. Only one skeleton evened tried to stop the slime but was taken down by a lightning bolt from the Kirin before it could act. Neph at this moment wished the Slime luck because he knew he wouldn’t get through the battle so easily, “Well guys I guess to go any further we’ll need to give this Kirin a hand.

************************************************************

Ammoron charged at Kysh and Kysh took a shot at him with a bow. At the last moment Ammoron dodged the bolt of light from Kysh’s bow. Kysh took a moment to get over the shock of missing seeing how he had never before missed with his bow.

That moment of shock almost cost Kysh his life as he had barely enough time to dodge Ammoron's sword as it came at him. Ammoron didn’t waste time and followed his swing with a thrust that Kysh also dodged but after finishing his thrust Ammorom instantly swung the sword in Kysh’s direction. Kysh only barely had enough time to make the change robe that Lamas had given him into a strong armor to absorb the blow from the sword which still ended up sending Kysh across the room and into a wall.

Kysh got up knowing that Ammorom wasn’t going to give him any time to get his act together. He knew that he needed to move faster to dodge the necrmancer's blows so his change rod took the form of the sword of valor again. Not a moment too soon either, for he was only just able to dodge another blow from the evil necromancer and Kysh soon found himself dodging, ducking, hopping, and rolling from one side of the room to the other.

Soon Ammoron stopped pursuing Kysh and stood looking at Kysh for a few moments as Kysh stood a few feet away in his fighting stance. He then gave a sinister grin and said, “Well boy, you seem to be very good at running away. Now I think I shall show you some of the powers your fathers change rod has acquired in its long life.”

The Sword that Ammoron was holding changed shape to a long black sword. Holding the sword over his head Ammoron slammed it on the ground in front of him. A moment later the spot that Kysh was standing was enveloped in an energy explosion that once again sent Kysh flying across the room Kysh landed rolled a few times before coming to a stop laying face down. Kysh got up despite having many burns from the blast before he could form armor from his change robes to absorb the blast. He got up only to be hit again this time from an energy blast from a whip that Ammoron had turned his change rod into. This blast cut deeply into Kysh’s right shoulder making Kysh loose his grip on his own change rod. This time Kysh didn’t get up.

Ammoron stepped over to where Kysh was laying and asked, “So boy how does it feel to die by your fathers weapon?” Followed by laughing.

His laughing was abruptly silenced as Kysh reached over with his right hand, grabbed his change rod and sat up. All his injuries had disappeared and his eyes were pulsating with red light. He stood up and seemed to grow a couple feet right before the necromancer’s eyes. Kysh’s rod took the form of the double bladed staff that had always been his weapon of choice and staring at Ammoron with his glowing red eyes answered, “ How do you feel about being killed by ‘just a boy?’” and attacked.

Suddenly Ammoron found himself being slowly forced backward parrying the blows from Kysh’s staff. Yet with all the strength that Kysh was displaying he still couldn’t seem to land a blow and he knew he wouldn’t be able to hold the form he was holding long. He also knew that not only would his injuries return but also he would probably end up unconscious for a day or two. The power to change the form of his body just drained his energy too fast.

Kysh tried to use his form changing ability to give himself more strength and the next blow Ammoron parried sent the necromancer flying across the room. Ammoron stood up and Kysh tried to shoot him with his bow again, this time firing a spread of 4 bolts of energy at him. Ammoron quickly turned his change rod into a larger heater shield and blocked the bolts, and then had to parry a fresh onslaught of strikes from Kysh. This time Ammoron noticed that Kysh seemed to be moving slower. Kysh also knew he was moving slower and he could feel was struggling to find the energy in himself to hold his form but already he could start to feel the injuries he had obtained start to return.

After a clumsily thrust Ammoron countered and kicked Kysh in the stomach knocking him to the ground. Kysh got up only to receive another energy blast from the tip of the whip that Ammoron had turned his change rod into. This time the blast caught Kysh in his side just above his hip. The blast shredded the pouch that Kysh keep the small nitched stones he used when shooting bolts of energy from his bow and they scattered all over the ground as Kysh landed on the ground.

Kysh lay there for a moment then opened his eyes. The red glow was gone. The faint green glow he normally had coming from his eyes was also gone. All that could be seen were normal blue eyes. All of his previous injuries had also returned and Kysh found himself unable to move let alone get up. Personally he was surprised he was still a wake seeing how previously using his form changing abilities left him asleep for a few days.

As Kysh looked up he saw Ammoron standing above him, “ Well boy that was a nice try but it only delayed what would’ve happened,” then picking up a nitched stone continued, “ I think I shall put you out of you misery using the same weapon both you and your father were so fond of.” Ammoron’s change rod then took the form of the same bow that Kysh used time and time again in his battles.

Kysh just shut his eyes. He couldn’t do anything more so he just took comfort that he would soon be with his parents. His mind drifted to things his father had taught him. Then suddenly as if the voice of his father were in the room with him he heard the words father had once spoken to him, “Remember son it is far easier to destroy then to create.”

The change rods had been created to copy the form changing powers that both Kysh and his mother had, and only someone with those powers could create a change rod. He had no idea how to create a change rod but maybe….

Kysh opened his eyes again and saw Ammoron pulling back the string of the bow. Just before the necromancer released Kysh’s eyes flashed for only a moment with a white light. A moment later a small stone struck Kysh on the chest, not a bolt of energy.

Ammoron yelled in surprise when the bow did not do as he expected it to do. He then tried to change its form to something else but it remained a bow in his hand. The Change rod that had once been Kysh’s father’s no longer worked.

“What did you do you little brat!” Ammoron yelled.

The necromancer took out a dagger and took a few steps towards Kysh but then yelled in pain as a slime attacked his leg. Kicking Metal away he turned back towards Kysh determined to finish the elfish child to be faced with Kysh laying on the ground, but holding his own change rod in the form of a bow and a stone fitted on the string. The last thing the Necromancer saw was the Stone turn into a bolt of light was Kysh released the string. The bolt caught him in the throat and he collapsed and died, with Kysh just a foot or so away not far from death himself. Metal moved over to Kysh’s side but got no response from the boy.

After a moment a dark form appeared in the shadows near by. Gad walked over to the body of Ammoron and picked up what once was a change rod and now was just a normal bow. He then stepped over to Kysh and laid the bow next to the boy.

“That was very cleaver boy,” Gad said to the sleeping elf, “I had said I get to kill who ever won but you aren’t in much a condition to give me a good fight. So I’ll have to postpone my rematch with you till you recover… provided you survive the wounds you have.”

With out another word the one armed assassin walked back to the shadows and disappeared, a few moments before Neph and those with him entered the room and found the elf child.
