I have been debating this for a while as I play on Siege and become more at home this shard. I really can't see how a guild like ZOOG would not do well here.
A little History of ZOOG, way back when LBR was released and the Hive and Solen came into being I fell in love with the hive, the Ants, the T powder, the Bags of Sending, the Seed Quest and most of all the ZOOGIE FUNGUS. So I created a unique guild on Great Lakes and Legends called ZOOG (Zoogie Hunters of Sosaria) for years we went along virtually unknown except for our T Powder, BOS, and Plant vendors. At our peak we made hundreds of billions in gold by simply farming ants and dominating the translocation powder market. We decided to abandon GL as UO contracted and shrunk and focus our efforts on legends where I became known as the Grand Zoogie LOL. At our peak we had 40 ZOOG members Ranked from ZOOGLET to MASTER OF THE FUNGUS and had a lot of fun. In 2004 or maybe 2005 we started hosting the Great Zoogie Hunt, a player run event that ran for 30 days and had a lot of participation. The goal was simple hunt and collect as many zoogies as you can in that month and at the end the top 3 got great prizes I believe the first year First place prize was a Castle plus we bought everyones ZOOGIES that particpated at I believe 250 per Zoogie back then. So everyone that participated had fun and got something worthwhile. ZOOG in return got stock piles of ZOOGIES and everyone was happy.
All was going well with ZOOG and then real life interupted and I had to leave UO for several years in from 2008 through most of 2012. I returned to find a much different UO most of my ZOOGs had left the game while I was away and many changes had occured. Legends was a Shadow of what it once was and I piddled with playing on GL and Atlantic but had little interest in the expense of transferring all of my characters nad things to another shard and starting over. So I took Freja up on the invitation to come play siege
If I was going to start over on a new shard it might as well be on a shard that was unique and the closest thing to the UO I started playing.
Now that I have been here for a while and have feel for how things work and and idea of the supply and demand of things I like to do, I have decided to remake ZOOG on Siege. I know ZOOG is not for everyone and most would find it boring. ZOOG has always been a peaceful guild that that does not take sides or get involved in other guilds disputes and we stay nuetral. As a business it is not in our best interest to have enemies outside of our competition and even then if it turns out as it did in the old days we were selling our T powder at wholesale volume pricing to our competition
So why join ZOOG I can help you make a lot of money fairly fast if you are newer to Siege. You will have access to some of the best training houses in the game to train your skills up from 0-120 with fixed healers close by with spawn that has good gold and decent loot drops. You will also have access to houses that are in the middle of or close to great resource gathering locations. If you do not have a house on Siege and need more storage than the bank allows you can be friended to one of my keeps and assigned one of the corner rooms with 5 chest that only you will have the key to. We are NOT NEW2 I can help you with some things but I recomend that if you are new on Siege that you spend at least a few weeks in NEW2 as they are better equiped to help a new player on siege get set up and offer a degree of protection from PvPrS.
How it Works. Every ZOOG Hunter has a box that is LOCKED down with their name engraved on it. As you collect ZOOGIES you put them in the box and then the powder runners remove the zoogies and convert them to Translocation powder (MIN 200 zoogies) it is noted how many zoogies were taken from your box and on Thursdays I take your number of ZOOGIES x200 gold and leave a check for that amount in your box, If you are a powder runner I take the powder from your box and take that number x 300 and leave a check in your box. But thats not fair the hunters get 400 for 2 ZOOGIES and I only get 300 per powder, it is fair because hunting the zoogies is much more time consuming and running powder is FAST. So what happens to all of this powder? Until I find people I trust 100% to act as brokers, I sell it to my whole sale contacts or put it on our powder Vendor. On average the profit for the guild treasury from the ZOOGIES is 5,000 gold per 100. The Profot for a hunter per 200 Zoogies is 40,000 gold per 200. The profit for a Runner per 100 powder is 30,000 per 100 (Per Run). Personally I can farm 200 Zoogies in about 20-30 minutes and can run the powder in about 7 minutes. Even if you are not a hardcore hunter or runner you can make a nice chunk of money in a short time every day. The profits above what are paid to the hunters and runners go into the guild fund and converted to 1 mil checks that are locked down in the Guild Hall so every member knows how much we as a guild have. That gold can be used for loans to guild members, hosting ZOOG ran events, buying armor, scrolls, and other supplies that the guild wants or needs. I often buy legacy tokens, Mythic tokens, and other store items and will offer these to ZOOG members first at discounted prices from what I sell them for otherwise.
You will also get a pretty much free vendor rental spot in the ZOOG Zento Vendor house. In the old days of ZOOG most of the hunter runners spent a hour a day hunting and running and had formed groups that did DOOM runs and Champ SPawns and used the ZOOG Vendor house to sell their prizes. It never hurt to have a couple of very adept PvP players in the guild to do the champ spawns and help those not so adept become more so. Not my cup of tea.
ANyway we are from returning to that point. If you would be interested in rebuilding ZOOG on Siege with me ........... I want to start out with recruiting 2 ZOOGIE Hunters and 1 Runner and see where we go from there. Really about all you have to have to make a lot of money with Zoog is the ability to invis and cast blade spirits. Melee is a bit tougher but in the long run make good hunters. A runner needs to be able to use atleast gate or gate scrolls or be willing to make the run from one of the houses to one of the hive holes. Everyone will start out with the Rank of ZOOGLET and advance in rank by showing loyalty and contributing to the guilds success.
There are two things I am Legendary at IN UO Dying and making a lot of money and I will be happy to share my ways of making money with the Siege ZOOG members.
