We all have them. Little things other players do that just tick us off to no end. Just curious as to what pushes other players buttons.

Mine are:
1) Players who are working crafting at the bank and leave bags of unwanted craftables on the ground. Sell them back to NPC's or trash them, it's really not that difficult. Nobody want's your 400 stone bag of candelabras!

2) People running around naked claiming to be new and that they lost all their gear fighting a mongbat and need gold to get back on their feet. So you're new huh? Is that so "glorious lord such-and-such"?

3) People who stand on top of me. Just because I'm at the bank not talking or moving does not mean I'm unattended bank sitting and don't notice you there. I'm most likely doing something in my bank box, hence my lack of movement. Please don't take this as an invite to stand on top of me while you spam that you're buying/selling a particular item.

Haha players standing on top of me is a pet peeve of mine too. I would also have to include:
1) I have a ruin marked at my house.
2) Selling ignots!!!!
3) The word toon.
4) Players working taming who don't rename pets before releasing.

I am with you on ALL of these points and I will add....

5) Someone taking a swing at my kill just to cut my loot in half and then run off
6) People/animals standing on my recall spot
7) Tamers parking their dragons right in the smack dab middle of the bank area
8) People who drop artifacts and then grab them up when others run after them (one day I will be stealthing up on the goobers and grab the sucker up)
9) People who want free stuff since I work for what I get
10) I can't think of a 10 but I'm sure there is a 10!

EDIT: I just thought of the "10" ... Missing my friends. That is my number 10.

LoL yeah that is annoying too. Or when folks just "throw" things in the vendor bag. You can't see to the bottom of the bag till you buy the crap on top, which I would never do. Why would anyone do that? There is one just west and a bit south of Luna on LS that does that. I don't even go there anymore to see if they have changed their ways.

Why is this a big deal? By leaving stuff on the ground it gives newbies easy why to make money on a tram shard. Someone can use a bag of bows, weapons or armor to train imbuing. Junk armor can be unraveled. Just because you don't need the items doesn't mean some one else doesn't.

7. EM's who abused the old system, so now the new one kinda sucks.

I'm talking about junk that can't be sold back to NPC's that just lays there cluttering the bank up. If I see bags of bow's or other sellable items at the bank I pick them up and sell them. Its the stuff that is useless and can't be sold that sits there until it decays naturally that bugs me.

No, You don't see. I think your attitude is getting the way. I don't spend my time bank sitting and am far from what you would consider a "rich" player. It annoys me when someone gates to a house claiming they have everything someone would need and they have 2 vendors lacking basic necessities such as recall scrolls. I'm sorry if my thread has upset you in some way, but feel free to avoid it in the future if my pet peeves bother you that much.

Dangit Black_Sun, I just don't think you are gonna make Spree happy today. I'm sure that makes you sad and all lol I'm like, holy cow, poor Black_Sun can say nothing right this morning. But here is the deal.......MOST OF US agree with you I'm sure. I know I do anyway. And those people gating do not have basic things........they have rares, rares and more rares or arties, arties and more arties. No full runebooks, no recall scrolls, not arrows or bolts (or if they do the prices are outrageous) Me and another gentleman spent half the night looking for a simple runebook to Ter Mur. All we could find were the Soles and arties. Nothing relevent to what we needed. And that is to include the shops that folks were gating to.

a) People who set up vendors with unnamed bags of multiple levels with no rhyme or reason.

b) People who leave vendors empty as bank storage.

c) People who are willing to buy arrows, bolts, ingots at obscene prices from npc vendors. So... you're really that rich that you can pay 28000 gold for 500 arrows? Howsabout you give me 15000 and I'll make you 500 and even deliver them to you.

d) People who sell 0 to 10 gold checks as "rares". I think every single one of them should have ALL their vendors deleted with all the items on them as soon as they put one of those damned things on one.

If I use such a gate or follow a rune marked to a vendor house and spreaded around, I usually end up with at minimum of 3/4's of empty vendors.
I even found someone gating from Luna bank to a shop inside Luna Walls with mostly empty vendors.

LOL! That's funny =P

How about...

A) auto-looting (especially from well known "rares collectors")
Let me also add 100% auto-looting and not just simply being fast at looting (i.e. running full speed over objects and happening to pick them up without stopping or veering off, instant pick up of stuff that you only see fly up the screen because it wasn't even a flash on the ground before it was gone... talking about randomly dropped items that are not dropped in a specific place) - you know who you are but I still luv u =P
B) Insurance in Fel
C) Item-based PVP
D) All the whining about how UO used to be and how certain "item-based" PVPers want it back (BUT we ALL know you would cry w/o insurance...)
E) "FARM-ers" and guilds named accordingly
F) The word noob/newbie and every version of it and all those that use it (especially those with accounts that are 7 yrs or younger)

*kiss* Luvs ya =)

3. People who misspell. YOU ARE A COMPUTER USING THE INTERNET. Spellcheck ftw or look it up. And who over the age of five can't spell petal?
4. No craftable bed for the Japanese furniture. Small bed, large bed, elvish bed. No SE bed???
5. People who won't res you. It takes like 2 seconds of your time to help someone and in Tram no less.
6. Plants don't stack and the last I checked, chocolate ingredients still don't. It's been over a year wait on the latter.
7. Toon. The Smurfs are a "toon".
8. Cluttered, unlabeled vendors and their contents. If you are going to bother with a vendor, learn to set it up properly.
9. People who invite the public to view their fancy, newly designed houses but fail to
-give directions
-drop runes
-make it PUBLIC
10. People who go out of their way to eliminate competitors including taking it to a personal level. You don't own the shard, even if it's small and the more people who leave because of you doesn't exactly help your business.

My list is somewhat small.

Sure some of the above listed things annoy me but it's not that big a deal to me.

Here's a few things that REALLY annoy my personal game time.

1: You can't put potions or enchanted apples (finished product alchemy and cooking) in a com deed but you can ingots and all wood(finished product of mining and lumberjacking). I sell around 5k each potion a day...it takes more time to move them than make them.

2: The fact that all weapons can be imbued and even artifacts now but i can't have 1 single imbued fishing pole. Seriously? I'm rather annoyed at this.

3: The fact i can never find a wandering healer when i need one. When i do there's usually 4-5 side by side that seem to be walking away from me, almost mocking my death.

4: The mini rat spawns in Abyss, the boss has way too many HPs to give absolutely nothing.

5: Non-dyable monk shrouds. They gave us dyable mr2 robes but i can't dye a 138gp shroud for a mule..

I didn't bother to look to see if my list of pet peeves are already listed so if that's a pet peeve of yours, tough!

1: LLTS dropping those purple books all over the map! They are at the entrance to EVERY dungeon, point of interest, public gate, and the more popular banks.

2: People that drop books all over the place for other reasons such as selling gold etc.

3: People that drop RUNES (not "ruins" you idiots!) all over the place for their "Uber-we-have-everything-you-could-possibly-want-and-then-some" vendor "malls".

4: People who regularly get away with making newbie accounts and newbie characters to script-spam at the Luna bank. EA needs to address this and fast! This is the one pet peeve that will probably drive me away from UO altogether.

5: People who script-gate to their house for sale, uber-vendor full of crap, their "free repair/upgrade (indoctrination into their cult-guild) day.

6: People who are jerks just to be jerks. I had someone at the Twisted Weald tell me, as I was discording and provoking 2 paragon cu sidhe's, that she was a legendary bard (peace) and would keep coming by to peace the cu sidhe's that I was provoking/discording because she was there to tame cu sidhes to get the "special colors". We resolved the issue after I told her to go ahead with her plan but if she did, I would bring my tamer and we could compete over the colored cu's.

That's been going on forever. It's not necessarily a client issue, it's often a lazy-arse vendor operator issue. Personally I organise my vendors in both legacy view and grid view, it would be foolish to cut out either customer. It only takes a moment in the EC to toggle container views, quicker still with a macro.

Go around and collect all of the runes that are laying around and rename them to phrases such as, "aaw! Isn't he cute standing there AFK on his pretty red horsie?" and then stack them in piles around the bank campers. You can also do this with the hundreds of billions of book-ads that litter the lands. :D Get creative in making remarks of the subject line! :lick:

1. No healers on 2 of the islands that have a lot of level 6 treasure chests on them. I have to use the help menu when I die on those islands. When you're fighting a spawn of 4 ancient wyrms, believe it or not, you're liable to die and need a healer.
2. In the EC, when I unequip a weapon and get the "you can't pick that up" message when I try to re-equip it, and can't leave the dungeon or re-equip a weapon until I log out and back in, by which time I'm usually dead
3. Client crashes in the CC, especially on an island without a healer. By the time I log back in, I'm usually dead
4. That annoying bright white light in a lot of the spell effects and on the EVs in the EC gives me a headache after a few minutes playing as a mage
5. All the endless loads of crappy junk on even the highest-level monsters. Surely they could fix it so a Miasma, Dark Father or level 6 treasure chest doesn't spawn anything with an imbuing score of less than 300?
6. When AOS gave us this current over-complicated weapons and armor system
7. Stats on robes. Before AOS, most of us didn't even wear a robe. People wore matching suits, and tailors took pride in making clothes for mages. Now, wearing robes is mandatory; anybody who doesn't wear one has to play at a disadvantage
8. That UO became so item-based after AOS.
9. That some of the ML mini-bosses, like Miasma and Swoop, for instance, are vastly underpowered in comparison with the amount of gold and the quality of loot. And the trog cave is just sick; 0 risk and an easy million gold every couple of hours.
10. They never did bring back item bless deeds. I want to see Spring Cleaning '10 have item bless deeds as a reward!

P.S.: No new box on the shelves in like 3 or 4 years????

Overall, I like the way that UO seems to be heading, though. SA doesn't have any really underpowered monsters, in terms of risk vs. reward. Some of them take creativity to kill, and the dungeon is overall very interesting. We got some good halloween and thanksgiving content. It looks like the rebuilding of Magincia will be fun. And they did put some effort into the EC, even if they didn't really make it playable. It can still become the client of the future if they just fix a few things.

Love this game, as everyone else that continues to play it, but:

Gotta work on the EC client to bring it to the forefront. The 2d client still
rules the game, and that's actually ok because it's so good at it.

The only future hope currently is the EC, and if it doesn't deliver, then maybe this game does have a final ending... somewhere down the line... somewhere.

Maybe...

Perhaps one of the most annoying for me too. Ain't it great when a critter can mana dump, around corners, when we of course, cannot...:rant2:

Although I can understand frustration regarding rune drops, but people picking up "free" runes get my goat too. Not all of us are rich, so doing rune drops when we do happen to have decent stuff on our vendors, is a vital way to actually get people to look at our vendors. I keep runebooks for some of the smaller vendors, because 1) They're often not in Luna/Zento, 2) They are more deserving and often better priced than the usual Luna/Zento/Mall vendors.

For those of us that participate and organise player run events, nothing is more annoying than some numpty collecting the "free" runes we've taken time to mark, that are intended to promote a player event or activity. Runes cost buttons, so go buy them!

1. Any npc chain casting poison for no other reason than its there. Does 1 dmg to you.
2. NPC's when you hit them for over half their life in one swing a GHeal goes off on them instantly.
3. When you get swarmed by caster npc's and they all chain cast mana vamp. I feel dumb getting killed by 6-10 imps because I could not get off a curse weapon or WW, due to chain mana vacuume.

1. Players who get pissed cause you are doing the same ish champ as them.
2. Anyone who cant say yes or no to a simple question. Can you res me/pet? If a ghost walks upto me on my whammy, I simply say I cannot res, Im sorry. In fact with patience and time I can kind of, 50 fizzles and when I succeed I am at 1 hp/mana/sta. Cant do that in a hostile area sadly.
