Personaly I dont use excell for keeping track .. I have a good working brain....90% of the time that is. Son on other hand uses one! I wouldnt put it past that I have a few guilds with my characters that over shoot a few on some shards...

To answer a nagging question most must have is how do I keep who has what when and where... its easy in rl I have 119 cousins ..... so its like family. That bunch of kids is that shard yada yada yada...

You're always forgetting which account holds which house.

You forget who is co-owned where.

You know you have a Character with GM Forensics somewhere but can't remember where.

You almost never sell any arties you get because you know you probably have a character that can use that.

You get excited about getting another SoT for Arms Lore because your working that up on one of your accounts... don't know what one but one of them.



Having 8 accounts myself and having GM'ed every skill in the game at least once... with no less than 7 tamers... 5 archers, 4 fencers, 3 macers, and a few swords fighters, various necro's and all....

I've sometimes wondered... if all UO gold (including items at their market values) were potentially converted into USD at current conversion rates (without affecting conversion rates), how much in USD would the richest UO player with all his/her accounts together, amount to?

Obviously you do not have a sense of community nor do you REALLY participate in/Lead a Guild.

If you did you would know why having more than one home is important.

Crafting especially with Imbuing takes a LOT of storage.

I keep tons of items that are for deco alone but then I'm in a deco guild.

I also enjoy a unique aspect of the game... Collecting.

Not everyone plays the game just to amass gold or strictly for PvP.

Some folk have other passions.

...when you cross-shard trade so much with your accounts, you need a new account to hold all the junk...err...gifts.

With 7 characters who have 720 skill caps, it's not possible to have just one account and still play all the character types a person may want (without investing a lot of money in soulstones). It's very convenient to be able to have 2 clients logged in and have my smith make or repair armor for one of my warriors without having to mess with soul stones.

It's not always about storage, sometimes it's about being able to fully enjoy the myriad of skills this game offers.


But back to the topic at hand:
it takes you 45 minutes of logging in and out to find the character you were looking for, only to realize that you forgot why you needed them to begin with.

When I started each of my characters had their own home on my starting account. I still own 4 of those same homes to this day and wish I hadnt traded off the 5th one. Each was set up for that characters skills and gave me all the room I needed (the house's were all 7x7s except the 2 mains a castle and tower).
