I may may seem to make light of some things now and again. I can do that... I am a mod. Most things I post are really not worthy of much attention.

The MEs and Admins bust their asses to make this as fine a forum as they can.

They lost a lot of work. If you doubt that, we can talk privately.

Yes, a few may have lost a post count or two. If posts and post counts are the measure of a player... I just do not know what to say.

I will say I know a bunch of hard working fans that do this gig for the love of the game... We all have our game.

Many of us try to add to your game.

Thank you. We are all here for you. *maybe a bit for our selves* We love this forum and the games we play too.

Oddly enough... My mother played UO way before I did. She moved to Siege way before I played. My mother thought playing the game would be a good way to stay in touch. It was for a long time.

Age and other circumstances took my mother's sight. She can no longer see a computer screen.

I will always remember the time my brother in law drove my mom to a "meet up" in Austin. Who knew Richard Gariot would be there?

Lord British himself spent quite some talking about the game with a player from the beginning. Bless his heart. I was not so easily impressed... he did seem interested in what my mom had to say.

I did not sit in on that conversation... nor did my brother in law.

But to the post... My mother armed me well.

Your mom raised you well kiddo... Give her my reguards... and if you ever get her to sit down with you do a talking walk through in uo.... she will love the discription as her mind flows with the images of uo she knew.... I am so glad she was one of us and gave you the gift of the game.

As for the people of Stratics... all of you do the utmost for your fellow players...
Petra... always busy but there when you need a paw.. or a kind word... that includes a scolding
You dear Kelmo for that quick wit..... and devotion to Siege...
Everyone who reads this should count their lucky stars that we have this way to express what is so very good and what bugs you about UO... and hope a Dev reads it.. hehehe

keep up the good work

(ruffles hair) good kid.... ***speaking as a mom***

I agree, I put a lot of time into websites/forums to help enhance people's UO experience if they so wish to use the things I have been involved in creating and continue to create.

and at the same time I appreciate all the hard work every other fan site puts into being there.

I thank everyone of you!

I know most if not all UO related fansites the staffers work on a volunteer bases and Don't ask for much back apart from respect.

Yes posts were lost its a bit of a pain in the arse but it is not the end of the world. I am pretty certain Stratics didn't set out to ruin your day but these things happen.

Good post Kelmo :)

What is this you speak of? Someone crying over spilled milk???

I think folk will just have to put on their big girl/boy panties and learn to deal with the loss of a few posts... not like I expect you all to be able to do much about that... Kinda like expecting the weatherman to deliver on the right weather he predicts... HA!

I also don't expect anyone to stop an earthquake before it happens... Yet.

Anyway not crying over any milk myself.

Think I feel like lurking..... :spider:.

I think Richard Garriott is part of a serpentine penis worshipping cult. Be careful there Kelmo. Have you ever wondered why Demons are such a huge part of UO?

According to that article that was just up on mmorpg.com Lord British was Pk'd because he forgot to set his invulnerability tag (which means invulnerables already existed) and it happened just before the full official release (still in beta means long before trammel) and thus if Rainz is the incident to which you refer neither invulnerable nor trammel were created as a result of it. Of course, I wasn't here that early and the article could be wrong.

Kelmo - I wanna meet your mom too! How exciting that she got to meet Lord British himself :)

Ditto. I'd not still be playing UO if it wasn't for the existence of Stratics. :)

I have a good friend who is a close personal friend of Garriott and has been to parties at his house, which is very unique. It's all I can do to not beg or bribe her to take me to meet him. I'd be a blubbering idiot. First RPG I ever played was Ultima VII.

I could have sworn that happened on Atl as well or was that just an assassination attempt? I know for a fact we did something (won't mention names) *coughXor/Fran/Legolascough* I just don't remember the outcome. Grrr...

To Kelmo and the other mods and community contributors, thanks for doing whatcha do.

Gotta say that I am usually the last person to partake in a feel-good, rl bonding UO conversation but that sounds pretty cool. Enjoy the memories bud.

Yeah, Goldberg. Thanks. You are right.

I really meant for this to just a throw away cheerleader thread. Some of staff were feeling down about losing a lot of work. Yes, it sucks to lose posts especially ones that are labor intensive. I just hoped to cheer some folks up.

The "mom" thing I did not take as an insult. I promise. It just made me think. Did I mention the was a NEW guild leader on Siege for quite some time?

Did I mention she tried to call the guards on me when I happened to run into her one day in Umbra. She just saw red and hit her macro. *chuckles*
