Due to The UO's Staff being so vague about goza mat roofs lately, I am forced to tear mine down out of fear they may be deleted with out my knowledge.

A ton of hard work went into these roofs. I only made them after an email from @Mesanna stated they were ok as long as they were not blocking other peoples houses, vendors etc...

Evidently that stand point has changed, or at least it seems so. I havent gotten a response from several emails to support, to the legality of such roofs. I now fear that like some of my friends, my roof will up and disappear with all the items on the roof.

For history sake here are the pics of the 3 roofs.

I don't understand why one definitive and simply worded answer from someone on the UO staff on this topic is apparently too much to ask.

the houses are private and very little bit loads when you run around them.

it is sad...

Oh I agree most things like that you should never see unless you step onto the stairs of the place.... which would then be pretty cool. Honestly as long as it isn't blocking anything I see no issue. However given the nature of many players in this game if they have it out for you then it's just an excuse they can exploit to hurt you... So better safe than sorry.

Some of the stuff on scribbles' castles did show up - I'd never been in those castles so I did a run around. The only things that "blocked" any view was from the Candle of Love "tower" - but that just blocked the view between the castles for a few tiles - movement wasn't impaired.

If items are placed high enough, they will show, regardless of having loaded the building or not.

Better to be safe than sorry - and hopefully the gods will give an answer.

ok so roofs like that have been around for quite a long time now, and they dont block anything and they only visable if you step on the steps of the house so why now all of a sudden is this an issue? in the patch notes they say only illegal if they block venders or other peoples homes, and scribbles homes clearly do not so why are you worried about it?

there have been some recent items, and roofs deleted. Not to mention rumors of GMs and Mesanna going around to find them. Most of this is left to be rumors because the staff have not come out and said something with a clear yes or no. A dev stated that the new items were not permitted above the 70 z cord. But then was vague about whether that applied to goza mat roofs or the new deco solely.

Basically the items i have on these roofs mean more to me than the roofs themselves. Im not risking a random gm coming by and deleting because some random person reported my goza roofs.

Im leaving the roofs up but taking the items off until someone from UO staff actually makes a public decsion about this.

I got the opinions of several players and all pointed to better safe than sorry.

well that is poor use of our paid game time if that is the case, im sorry but alot better use of their time would be to go around and search out the scripters

Because there is always the "chance" that some jayhole will come about and complain that they can't see XyZ just to be a jackoff and get your house condemned in the hope you won't get the email and it will fall.... just because they can.
