Tyrande Whisperwind

With Malf Stormrage trapped in the Emerald Dream, and Fandral Staghelm being...less than worthy of the honor, it should go to the otherr leader of the Night Elves who made the decision that their race should sacrifice their home, their immortality, and the way of life they'd known for thousands of years in order to ensure the continued existence of a world filled with races whom they had little reason to trust, let alone care for.

Alexstrasza the life-binder. Because she is the guardian of all life on azeroth and of the races of azeroth she is the only being truly neutral in regards to all of them. She is a being of peace who will only destroy in order to punish or renew, and will use all of her power to defend the lands. This is why she should light the torch.

Uthar, Bringer of light!
He took my answer :( I just like it because of the name, I guess I'll choose..... Mograine the Ashbringer, he can use that sword to light the torch. Yeah, that'll do nicely.

Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, the Red Dragon aspect and the guardian of all life. Because she is the guardian of all life :p

Thrall for sure, cant help it that orcs just look so athletic and we all know that thrall is the orc of all orcs.

I would say thrall because he united the horde and also he fought along side of gromm hellscream.

I would have to say that adal would be the best choice. He brought peace to all of outlands and built a city were factions dont matter.plus he can mantain his city and keep it going just like he would do with the olympic flame.

I like many of the suggestions, but certainly neutrality is a key to the olympics. This being said, if they were to be held right now in Azeroth, I would have to suggest Archmage Ansirem Runeweaver - leader of Dalaran.

It would make a wonderful event and transition to WotLK.

I think Medivh's aprentice (cant remeber his name) should carry the torch because he is the only one who was (out of all his other aprentices) patiant with Medivh's personality.

Eiather that or thrall he is the one who brought unity to the horde.

A'dal
A'dal is the obvious choice for unity between the Alliance and Horde. Although Thrall promotes unity, blahblahblah, he is a Horde Leader, and not a huge friend of the Alliance. A'dal, if he could somehow carry the torch :bored: would clearly be the best choice.

Everybody keeps saying Thrall or Arthas or Jaina for the great things they did, my vote goes to the man that set them on their paths to begin with, the Prophet Medivh the Last Guardian of Tirisfal, son of Nielas Aran and Guardian Aegwynn.

I would say Maiev, since she's worked for so long and sacrificed much to rid the world of Illidan Stormrage. She's not the most likeable, but she definitely has earned some recognition! =)

I think Nafien from Felwood. He's friendly to everyone, he's actually capable of carrying the torch, and works tirelessly to improve relations between the timbermaw furbolg and outsiders to their clan.

I'd let aran do it... He's always getting looted by nooby starting off 70's and has a hard time, he's an old man for god's sake! He's under a lot of pressure right now competing with medivh, and I believe letting him light the torch would cheer him up greatly.

Malfurion Stormrage, because he came up with the plan to destroy Archimonde so that the entire world could be saved!

I for one would not go by names, and their accomplishments, deeds, and etc. Sure, there's symbolism in picking those who deserve it as such, but you can send a great message in this person - not based on deeds but based on his height.

I would put a call out for the shortest of gnomes to come forward, who will be the first holder of said torch.

First, due to his size the torch itself will be his same size...maybe even bigger! It would take great strength then to hold this torch, much less carry it. He'll do it though - may tinker up some gizmo that has wheels on it so he can push it along a little while carrying it. If you ask me, his strength in carrying an item as big as himself shows greater strength than any other individual could display.

Don't even get me started on the stairs. Those will be a pain.

Then when he gets to the brazier, he surely can't reach it you know. And you can't just toss it up in the air and HOPE it lands in there, oh no. He'll have other gnomes hoist him up till he can reach it. This shows unity and cooperation - once again something nobody else can show. If you ask me we don't see much of that, and we all know the straw is stronger when in groups.

And then once the games start, we can all sit back and enjoy Gnome-tossing, which mind you is a guilty pleasure we all secretly enjoy. Even gnomes like it, taking flight is one of their fancies - they just don't appreciate the landings.

Considering the high amount of saboteurs always trying to put out the olympic torch, I believe we need to choose someone that won't let the fire go out. Someone, who will protect it with his life. Thus, I nominate Goldtooth of the Elwynn Forest kobold's, we all know no one takes his candle!

Thrall, obviously. Not only would no one be able to stop him, but he holds sway over "STORM, EARTH AND FIRE!"

They heed his call, y'know.

I would have to say king Magni Bronzebeard king of Ironforge because of his old age and wisdom i should say thrall because im horde but Magni only seems appropiate to celebrate his old age and Selflessness letting the gnomes stay in his home

I would have to agree with a vast majority of the rest. Thrall would have my pick. after all he's done, regardless of what faction he's with.

In my opinion, the best torch wearer will be General Stoutmantle cause he defends westfall with a great fuire in his heart. :loser:

Old Blanchy! It's always some old person that's past their prime that ends up lighting the torch.

My suggestion would be, Cro Threadstrong the Leatherworking Supplier and Granny Smith the Fruit Seller in Shattrath lighting it hand in hand. The two of them get into fights hourly; Cro's always so angry at Granny. It'd take alot of courage and respect for Cro to hold her hand and light the torch with her.

And if they're attacked by protestors; they both have armies to protect them.

Besides it'd be a human and orc overcoming racial differences to light a torch. Then they could just get back to arguing when the lighting was over.

Grok smash!

Hogger is character of my choice. He is one of most memorable named mobs encountered by countless alliance players.

Elune would be an excellent candidate for carrying the torch; while her source of light is moonlight, it would be an interesting turn of events for her to combine her light with the torch, no?

A'dal should light it as he(?) is a symbol of unity between factions for the greater good.

I agree with Serotoninzero, Zanzili, Mvucetic, Thomassilver, Rogueknight, Nivekious, & Mithrae. A'dal would be the best candidate to light the torch.

I agree that Sylvanas should light the torch she has the most ties to all races in Azeroth.

I'd have to go with A'dal: is there any more a symbol of Olympic unity than factions at war laying down their weapons and coexisting side-by-side, like the situation in Shatt?

General Turalyon, he led the Alliance Expedition through the Dark Portal, big heroes should get to do the cool stuff.
