Using a prospectors tool, which and smith will tell you we get a lot of from bod turn ins, just about any mining spot in game will produce dull copper. Ive never gathered ingots by hunting orc brutes so I cant say how long it would take you to gather 1k of shadow ingots in that way.

It's pretty quick to gather shadow ingots that way.
I MI, and then log my smith out down there on a blue beetle.
Then come in and kill Brutes till I get a big enough pile, then log my smith, smelt, and walk out.
Last time, I walked out with 16k shadow ingots after an hour or two.

Interesting. Now if only there was a way to gather dull copper in that fashion. Would anyone be interested in trading for some copper or bronze? I have a pretty good supply on those ingots as well.
