While I question that such an item should exist in the game, I sure have enjoyed having mine. It has allowed me to have GM magery on Kestrel to gate without scrolls, with the investment of only 50 real magery skill points, and using cheap +10 mage jewels and +10 spell book.

well, actually i never did shimmering effusion so far. might have to try to solo it and see if i get lucky.
