With the year change, comes reflection.....

Over the last 2 months, I have debated my future with UO & Siege. The Siege players have been very supportive over the last 8 years. When I have actually played UO, it's been Siege. There is no better rule set to truly enjoy the UO experience.

Last spring I took some time way from Siege & UO for several months. I returned and found that fire for gaming that makes us all want to play the game. I have also watched many of those that made it enjoyable leave for other activities. And again find that the fire is gone.

I too have come to a point that I must change focus. I have never been much for PvP. Frankly I suck at it. I found more enjoyment being a vendor & supplier. I have wonderful full time job and my UO sales has always been a hobby and a source for my golf habit.

Over the last few months, Siege activity & sales have decreased to a point that I can no longer justify the time & resources to continue supporting Siege to the level I believe it requires & deserves. Thus, I will be liquifying my assets on Siege & will be closing most of my accounts. Effective today, 1/1/08, my xsharding service is closed.

I'll be posting several auctions for items and within several weeks I'll be listing several accounts for sale.

I wish everyone the best. The player base of Siege deserves no less.

I truly must take my hat off to thee for all the time and effort that ye have put into this land and its people over the years. I doubt anyone could, in good conscience, fault you for pulling back a bit - or a lot.

You also have previous years figures to compare to, so I am sure you are assured of your facts.

Still, I do normally find that this IS a quiet time of year. Folks are visiting family, recovering from too much ale, planning their new year, and, for some, preparing to move into higher education or their first apprenticeship. The matters of Siege tend to be moved to the back of the shelf, at least until the end of February. That is MY experience, at any rate. The experience of others may differ.

In any regard, wherever the road takes thee, be safe, and keep a small piece of Siege in thy heart. I am still firmly convinced that this land is an addiction!

It really shows what kind of character and integrity you have when it comes to conducting buisness when a shard such as siege, with as many various temperments and attitudes can unamiously agree that the easiest and most truthworthy way to conduct buisness here is through you.

Cybernickel, thank you for honestly and reliably providing services that players obviously wanted, for so long. You have been a fun, and helpful member of the UO community. I will miss your creative selling post titles!

I wish you enjoyment in the activities that will be receiving your "UO" time in the future.

With all due respect, there are plenty of honest people on this shard that can provide honest service the way cyber did, but the problem we have is our community picks and chooses who is the honest man of the year, and without good cause. According to some of the post that I've seen on this forum, Puffy will be the next cybernickel. Gotta love that community, aye?

For example... I've played this game 7 1/2 years, never once cheated anyone out of anything, but yet I'm still not considered a honest trader. But someone can deceive a person out of the ost valuable item in game one year, then turn around and give soeone their loot back after ganking him the nest year, and be considered honest. As I've always said, either you're part of the "click" (clique if you will, Kelmo), or you're not. It's as simple as that.
