Will the new Magincia houses remain in GZ?

Will the new Magincia houses remain in a guard zone? If they remain guard zone they will be a paradise for shops and Trammy events, if not it will be like any another housing area. Has there been anything said about this?

I imagine it will make a big difference to their value.

I don't see any reason why the guardzone would go. We all know it takes alot for them to do something different for Siege lol, so I don't see any change to the guardzone any time soon :p

The owners of these new houses have a chance to introduce something new to this game...cooperation. Try not to ban ppl just because you can. Keep these houses public. Place vendors. Factions have been removed from Magincia. Make this a no fight zone, everywhere else is ok. Be civil. and yes run events here.

I'm guessing a good few of the houses will stay private and quiet. Which will be a shame but ya can't force anyone.

Fine with me. But I'll admit, I don't use the hub much, except for the Abyss teleporter. But it would certainly be interesting to see it set up there.

What would you folks think of moving the Umbra hub to Magencia?
Would be better to move it to TnT´s vendor house at Yew gate if Mono is planning on letting that one go...

Because Siege isn't in their master plans lol. You can see from the HoC chat a few months back how awkward siege was when it was asked lol.

You know its very nice to actualy have a vendor shop now that is open to the public i have one little area in mine that is friends only but its just a empty room im storing stuff in other then that i can actualy have a courtyard for people to walk into. where as before i had to double the walls (creating less floorspace) and make safe spots to stock vendors from along with quick get away spots. So in the vendor owner point of view i hope they keep magincia a guard zone.

Kelmo id say the closer to a moongate you can get the better. Yew moongate would be perfect. In my opinion not many people go to umbra so alot of the new players probaly dont even know the port hub is there.

Oh also! Ive started to stock my shop so visit it if ya get the chance. Its on lot C-3 on the north side of magincia.

Before you do something like that, maybe try e-mailing Mesanna to see if there's anything new on the horizon in terms of EM activity on Siege. I know the EMs have made hubs of a sort on other shards and maybe that is something she has considered for Siege but just hasn't gotten around to doing yet. Would hate to see you put a lot of gold and time into moving if she actually has something like a hub planned for Magincia on Siege. We could end up with two hubs instead of just one!

Ps I used to have 50 VMP Ork UND ect on my doors every night and might have banned only 5 or 6 people dieing was expected guilds used to take numbers who was going to kill use next.

I very much admire all that Mesanna and all of the Bio/Mythic crew do for UO. Mesanna has in fact started a project for us here recently.

But when push comes to shove... We do not get a lot of Dev time. It is a simple matter of numbers. I understand this. It was made pretty clear to me.

Catch 22? Perhaps... We do not have the numbers to warrant attention. With out attention we will never get the numbers.

I used to buckle and gnash my teeth of some of these changes... The Trammelization of Siege. There are some few that will dispute this. Those that know me will agree for the most part.

That was then. Siege had a viable population.

My belief now is... We use the tools we are given. We do it in our on unique Siege way. (By the way we need a round 2 of come to Siege, and I will give you a room. Make it a room folks... A single chest or two is not welcoming.)

Back on topic... Maybe.

How many of you are old enough to remember "Horton hears a Who"?

A tiny community floating in the wind. They fought. They debated. They even screamed. Only when they came together as a whole did they survive. That voice of the whole. (and Cindy Loo Who too *winks*)

When we actually do that. When we come to gather, and make Siege a fun, interesting and, Indeed! Challenging!

This is how it is... We make Siege. One day perhaps... Horton will hear us.

OK Back on topic i think the hub moving to the new magicinia would be a good move the abyss access house would be in guard zone. Now wouldnt that be the safest route to take to the abyss just my opinion

And you are complaining about the safety of "production" shards while at same time hoping for a guard zone player town??

I do not see them changing the GZ in New Magincia, UNLESS, all the other feluccas out there also complain that they too, have an all guardzoney feluccan New Magincia.

All the feluccas on every shard, I guess, got a Guard Zone New Magincia not just Siege. No clue why that happened. Perhaps some story line yet to come may change that or not !

I do know that felucca on Chesapeake IS also all Guard Zone so I figure every feluccan New Magincia is the same, as Siege's as Chesapeake's ie Guard Zoned.

WHY they did that, no clue.

But if we remember when they first made ML the elfy town in the sky had some issues too, in that the feluccan ones were originally set up to not even permit reds into them. It got changed. So perhaps down the line yet, New Magincia's feluccan islands may one day yet become a tad bit more feluccan...maybe ! :)

I really do not care much one way or another, I do just hope folks continue to support player run vendors that are NOT so safe nor in Guard Zones, otherwise the rest of us on every shard that did not win a plot will surely go out of business and find little reason to keep playin *felucca* if everyone ONLY shops in GUARD ZONES, set down in a feluccan ruleset !!

Might as well then move ourselves to TRAMMEL shards/facets and play there if no one frequents the NON guard zone shops any longer, where we are supposed to be in *felucca* !

I couldn't go there either until I did the quest thingie. Only Miranda acct. is SA'd anyhow, but I couldn't take her to see the Abyss house till she did that quest.

Personally I wouldn't move it. I use the Umbra hub a lot myself. Course wherever ya slapped it I would probably use it anyhow, but because it is also by the Memorial building, and downtown Umbra seems useful right where it is, too.

But since our shard has lower population and if everyone and his brother or sister is gonna be on New Magincia more than the rest of the UO lands, guess it makes sense to slap it in New Magincia since that appears to be the only place or HUB anyone is gonna be hangin out, upon here on Siege, cuz it's all guardzoned ! :(

Yeh but once upon a time WE HAD player run towns here, course with dwindling population those player run towns are ghost towns now, but we had the Shire, we had Iantown, we had Wintermoor, all of which were pretty far removed from guard zones. We had events, some worked out fine, some ended up sometimes mass slaughter but they did thrive as they did, when we had the people running events IN them till we lost a lot of our player base that lived in those player run towns.

We had enough pvpers being the PLAYERS being the guards in the towns, when they felt it appropo to either fight back fight, or if neccessary ban folks temporarily from an event for the night.

IT WORKED and it was OUT of guardzones. The orig. Shire was not in a GZ just closer than some player run towns.
Iantown was darn far from any GZ. Wintermoor was even FURTHER away from any GZ and each once was thriving and busy and full of homes mostly public, and till we lost all those folks, those were hubs of activity..once ! :(

Now I no longer know what would even work here any longer, maybe we HAVE to have a New Magincia run hub all GuardZoney, for smaller population to find somewhere to hangout together...or we just do not have the people to DO IT like we used to have it all far removed and OUT of Guard Zones for player run towns hubs and activities. I dunno. :( But we also do not have the throngs of PLAYER KILLERS here any longer either, like having the comic fun to have a horde of VMP come tell a story, at story nights !

Yes I still kinda miss that 'Lord of the Damned' WyRm shouting at me 'DIE INSOLENT BLUE !' lots of comic fun/and risk, left the building & this shard, when he left the shard...just my opinion ! I can well imagine what HE would say about NEW MAGINCIA GZ'd !

Your logic is flawed. If you have to completely change something, you didn't save it.
