[Gardening] Will Plants Grow Locked Down Inside Containers?

Just that. I realize plants need to be locked down, but will they grow if they are locked down inside a container? I searched but couldn't find the answer to that question.

from my understanding No they wont grow in a container

to grow, they have to each be
1. locked down or
2. in ur chars back pack or (here they can be in bags or containers to help sort)
3. chars bank (here they can be in bags or containers to help sort)

I can say for sure that they won't. Back when plants first went in I cross-bred a full set and then threw the set in a couple chests to get back to later - they're still all vibrant. I grow all my plants in my beetle. Saves on locks just have to remember to remount.

I bought a black plant off of a vendor. It had not been set for decorative and it had 8 seeds still available. I don't know if it was grown in the vendor or if it was placed in there without trimming it. Anyhow it didn't die from lack of care while in there. It was still vibrant.
