[Imbuing] Will I lose special ingredients when I fail an imbue?

This is a simple question, but I'd rather ask than find out later...

I'm doing a complicated imbue-build that is going to require me to use SA special ingredients for the 3rd and 4th imbue. I'm knocking out the relics with the first two properties then moving to essence for the 3-5th properties. The 3rd and 4th properties both will require SA special ingredients for max intensity. So I know I will fail the 4th imbue probably multiple times...

Will I loose the special ingredients when I fail? Or only the Essence and gems?

Thanks! Just trying to be smart about this before I start the imbue.

You only lose the basic ingredients, like gems, residue and relics etc. You never lose the SA specials on fails, like essence of order, crystal shards etc.

Loosing the 5 relics on fail bothers me more than the specials. I could get many of the special ingredients easier, but loosing the relics hurts my stock and ability to craft way more.

I wish I could submit it as a bug, but think the developers like it this way.

I'm with you on the relics. I knock out my use of relics on the first two imbues. I try not to get into a situation where the third imbue requires a relics. The only times I do that is if the item comes with a minor mod (uses residue or essence) which I can push to min intensity and then re-raise to my desired value on the 4th or 5th imbue.

In the case above, my fourth imbue was at max intensity but used essence as the main ingredient. I'm willing to loose essence, but wanted to ensure I didn't loose the special ingredient (as I only had 10).

glad i won't lose ingredients. but losing relic fragments? damn, that sucks
