Looks like 50% to me. And the login screen has always been like that.

I have noticed this problem as well. the thing i notice on mine (and yours btw) is that client.exe and uo.exe are running. what i do is hit ALT+Enter twice and it closes uo.exe and starts to run normally. also I have noticed that on my admin account this doesn't happen but it does on a normal user account.

Then maybe start uo with rightclick-run as admin. I don't have any problems whatsoever, the client is running at 14% with 30mb mem used.

it only pegs the processor at 100% at the login screen itself, once you login it drops down to normal

it used to be at 100% even after you logged in but they fixed that a long time ago because people were complaining that it was beating up their laptops cooling fans

for a while you used to have to say -reducecpu once you logged in - it was a feature that uoassist introduced to help out - it still toggles 100% cpu usage on and off if you feel like playing with it a little

right, but that doesn't matter. it's still a bug.

thanks for the W7 tips everyone. I run a regular user account in W7 and I run as admin when I run UO, I still get this problem. I will try the Alt-Enter tip. Thanks.

note: the problem persists with XP once client.exe is running. the UO.exe is a Win7 bug
