Why was I charged tax on UO Game Code store?

EA does not have a location in my state, why was I charged tax? I bought a forged metal tool.

It really does all depend upon your state's laws. EA honors all 50 states tax code and if your state demands sales tax be collected on online sales then EA does.

Not every online store/company are honoring sales tax collection though, in state presence or not. Amazon comes to mind. Google "Amazon pulling out of Texas."

I used to live in Washington state and my monthly subscription and uogamecodestore purchases were taxed. Since I moved to Montana I'm no longer charged sales tax by EA.
