I don't think it was a concerted effort to make it different as much as it was laziness to 'hack in' spellweaving. Done correctly it shoudl function more like Mysticism, Necro, Chivalry etc. But SW was crammed in and doesn't conform like the other 'spell like' disciplines.Spellweaving has never been on jewels.. I would love it if it was but it is just one of those things that doesn't show up. You don't see any +crafting/mule skills either.. not sure about imbue honestly and there is only mining gloves and a lumberjack axe. I've never seen +15 tailoring or +15 blacksmithy on a ring. Oh I suppose ancient hammers increase smithy..
But I think it has to do with the system of the spells. You can cast several spells at 0 skill level, a couple at 10, etc. It's meant to be a hard magic group, you can't craft the scrolls you have to get them from monsters, you have to do a quest to cast/train, and you need a focus to make it worth a damn. The trade off I suppose is that you don't need any "synergy" skill, it's a standalone skill.
Title pretty much says it all. Other casting skills are available on jewelry, why not Spellweaving?
popps is right..I thank the wisdom of the Developers for not having Spellweaving as well as other skills on items. This game already allows for way, but way overpowered templated thanking to skill items and we really, IMHO, do not need for more............
They should actually make it so that many bonuses, like special moves, for example, only work when real skill above a certain level is used, not through skill items.....
Up with real skill and down with skill items !!
I disagree. The duration time of its spells are too short, and the cooldown timers are too long, for this skill to be worthwhile. The quests, the search for its scrolls, and the need for other spellweavers makes this one of the worst skills in the game. Any advantages that someone might be able to pull off in PvP with this skill is negligible compared to other tactics that can be used.popps is right..
right now as it is with 0 skill and a level 6 focus spellweaving is way over powered in pvp.
Attunement alone should be bumped up so you cant cast it with joat.
did u ever see a bunch of level 6 weavers hold the island in despise?I disagree. The duration time of its spells are too short, and the cooldown timers are too long, for this skill to be worthwhile. I do agree, however, that real skill really should be looked at for special moves, etc, but that is not the purpose of this thread.
And +100 to all skills?I want a I WIN UO robe with 70 to all resist, 100 lrc, 20 mr, 40 lmc,70dci,70hci and 1000 hit point buff...
No, and there is no need to insult me for it. I thought the poster was speaking of a single player with the skill, not a group of spellweavers. I think that is very interesting, indeed.did u ever see a bunch of level 6 weavers hold the island in despise?
or push a choke at a harry, all while having a 6 focus and attunement and gift of renewal in effect??
clearly this skill has a viable purpose in pvp. your ingnorance to it lies in the fact that its use in pvp is a tactical one, i.e, knowing when to employ it to get the most benefit.
This exactlyBut to the OP - it is probably because it would allow say someone with 70 weaving, to jewel up to GM, to get a circle with someone at 120.
