When I log into UO stratics...

I see an add for WOW. Now Im a BIG fan of Ozzy. Hey hes proof on why you should just say NO!

But seriously now. WoW? on a UO boards? WoW thats NOT even an EA game??? I know times are tough...All around...But I think most of us hate WoW more than any other online game.

BTW I have tried some of those other games that are posted on stratics..and they are fun, plus they Dont have 11 million accounts that lag the servers.....and I DO understand UO Stratics has to make money...But come on now..WoW???

Stratics is independent from EA, they aren't constrained to what they show here by them. Also, its site wide - not site specific.

Thank you for the input Magnus. Im just tired of hearing about WoW. I hear it at work. I hear it on the radio and TV. Heck just the other night I went to see a movie and they had a Preview of the WoW game before the showing. I kid you not..

Firefox blocks ads.. you need to use it. It takes up less memory, loads faster, loads pages faster.. all around a better browser. I've only ran into 2 sites that had to be loaded in IE.

I wouldn't say FireFox uses less memory - or if it does, it's not enough that the difference can be noticed. It CONTINUALLY leaks the stuff, but IE does the same.

(Let's see now... My current FireFox process is using 190mb of RAM. What for, I'll likely never know...)

Also, FireFox does not block ads by default: Though installing the Ad-Block Plus extension does indeed cause it to screen out 99% of them.

I never did a manual check of it's memory usage.. but based on the 1000% faster loading time I assumed it does.

go to stratics.com and look down the list of game boards they support. also, I believe the revenues from the banner ads you decry support the ability to use these boards for free.

Oh wait! go here and look near the bottom of the alphabetical list of supported forums. Sonuvagun, there are WOW forums on Stratics as well as UO and a slug of others!

I wonder if WOW players get upset if a UO ad pops up over there. Hmmmm?
