Why is Mysticism...

...Tied to imbuing?

I get the whole gargoyle skills, culture...blah blah. The fact is imbuing is tied to crafters while mysticism is tied to fighting. I don't have 120 points to spare on my mage/warrior and I don't have points to spare on my crafters.

Also as a side complaint - The rising colossus should be way harder to dispel.

You can look at imbuing from two sides ...

- comparing mysticism+imbuing with magery+eval
- having it a standalone crafting skill
Only problem with it is, that you can reach higher levels of imbuing only by training it as a crafters skill.

You cant have every skill with its full power on a single char. Its your decision which skills to take. Mage/Warrior is already a very tight template. hard to fint only enough skillpoints for mysticism or imbuing into. If you want both, you have to decide, what to put aside for it.

I like that it's tied to imbuing..

I threw imbuing on a character that was sitting around with just magery, hiding and alchemy on her (she was my plant grower).

So then I figured, what the heck - people keep casting rising collosus in my house to try to kill me - I want in on this too! So I added eval and Mysticism.

It is a pretty fun template. Still useful to grow plants, unravel and sometimes train imbuing *yawn*, but omg is it ever fun to kill people by throwing chickens at them (eagles, whatever, they look like chickens) and throw rocks, and cast a colossus into houses. If it wasn't tied to imbuing, everyone would be running around casting colossuses and then I would have no one to kill :)

I agree with this 100%, only the caster should be able to dispel them with no trouble. It is pretty dumb when a Fire Daemon can dispel it a handful of times before it dies. It was supposed to be harder to dispel than anything else but I find it to be about the same.

Hell, I was watching Juka mages dispel them over and over again, and they're way weaker than a fire demon.

Devs need to up these guys dispel resistance.

if you have spell weaving the chances are even lower if you cast arcane empowerment

The problem is mysticism is tied to both eval and imbuing. The rising colossus, for example, suffers greatly in stats and even duration if you don't have both eval and imbuing.

i think if people had to have mysticism at a high level to imbue we would hear a louder uproar

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times.... Item Id should be to Imbuing what Arms Lore is to Blacksmithing. This would give this otherwise useless skill that is sitting on soulstones across Sosaria a legitamite use and reward the players that have actually taken the time to train it. Since you already have *slightly* tied it into imbuing b/c you can id what something will unravel to, why not go all the way?

Well, you could say the same about Magery and Inscription.

Thinking of taking of wrestling for 120 Spellweaving

Think protection can help spell casting insted of wrestling .
But dont quote me on that .

Item ID? You are serious? Pretty sure not as many people have it as you think. I have never used it once and made it to 120 Imbuing without anymore trouble than if I would have had it. A waste of a skill. By the time you get to 120 Imbuing you can pretty much tell what something is going to unravel into; at least I can *shrug*.

Sorry lols, I know you're gonna yell at me later cause I know how much you love to do this, but if anything....

The rising colossus should not be allowed to be cast into houses. I had my crafter in my house on Chessy yesterday and someone came along, cast one, I couldnt get rid of it (i have no magery) so it killed me. I ran out found a healer, rezzed, come back to collect my stuff and heres this guy casting another one into my house. I tried to hide, but it was too late. I died over and over again trying to retrieve my corpse and because I was flagged on a monster I ran into trying to get back in my house, I couldnt log out.
It was flat out griefing and whats worse is that even if its on the top floor and your on the bottom floor it still hits you.
I think I died about 15 times to this guy before I said forget it and let the stuff in my pack decay.
I know its Fel, but this guy was using it to grief me big time and I dont even know who he was or why he was doing it. It's not like he could loot me.

As for the imbuing and mysticism ..... leave it alone! The last thing I need is all too powerful mage/dexxers who already do a ton of damage running around casting this thing that also does tons of damage.

this is on a gargoyle and is my funnest character to play now I love it
talk about a spell caster I would suggest putting atleast 8 or 9 mana regen on also

I quickly trained up imbue to 120 and then Myst to 120 on a char with 115 mage and 115 eval.
I was surprised that a char with 120 resist resisted the sleep spell 15 times in a row...

If people are dumb enough to train useless skills when they're useless, they don't really have any right to whinge that the skill is useless.

But in saying that, I GM'd it on my Imbuer, it takes like 1 day max and you can ID the same item all the way to GM.

SO you're saying you'd rather have skills be useless than useful in the game just so you don't have to train them?

No, I'm saying people who say 'wahhh, I trained this useless skill, and I knew it was useless, yet I need to be 'rewarded' for training this useless skill', have no right to whinge.

And you didn't read my post properly, I said I did train it.

The fact that any skill is useless is cause to complain.

only because I love you wil I share this with you..

you can say "echar" and then target anything in your house and it will immediately be ejected.

No need to dispell.

*goes back to colossus killing*
