I apologize if I misspelled your name but I'm curious about last night. You," All killed me." yesterday and I was curious if you managed to pick up any of the logs I had in my possession? Not that I want them back I'm well aware of the siege ruleset and you did pk me so you deserve the spoils so to speak. No, I'm just asking if you were able to pick them up? Yesterday, I was having a problem retrieving my my gear after I was being killed and I believe it is a bug of the SA open beta client. The first death ocurred a few hours before you killed me when I died to a ronin at Homare. I couldn't retrieve my items there either. just figured I'd ask. While we're at it how many corpses did I leave there? I think you pked me a good 8 to 10 times. Since, I don't give murder counts (Not that I can't, I just choose not to) its fun just to res and see how long before the pker gets bored. I thought killing the npc healer that kept ressing me was an interesting touch.

When you ressed, did you run straight for your corpse?

Res killing is an acceptable way of buying yourself enough time to pick through what you want from the corpse, if the person is making a grab for their items again.

Actually, I believe I ran towards him and since he may have been by my corpse. My problem isn't with res killing its part of game play, and I have no issue with that. I'm meerly curious if he was able to get them or not as, I believe the last patch has messed up something concerning retrieving your gear from your corpse. For more information look at the SA thread I made on that forum. Thats all. No problem or whining here just curiousity.

Actually please wolves and ghouls of all ages, don't make this about which template is overpowered. This thread is actually here to see if Bobbafet went for my items and if he did could he even get them. The method of my characters demise isn't the issue here just the game mechanics due to the last patch. If he did get them I don't want them back I just want to see if
1 He\She went for them?
and
2 If He\She did was he\she able to get them?

A bard will completely disable your pets.

Bard with Peace & Discord vs. Full tamer will each use 360 skill points.

The tamer can't use pets, and the barding skills, in most cases, have minimal direct PvP impact. So that's 360 points out of the picture, with the tamer unable to use pets/summons. The bard can still use magery summons. The remaining skills on both templates can be whatever, but the bard will always have (at least) the magery summon advantage. If the bard drops one of peace/discord (either one alone is enough to disable a pet, but with just discord he'd want to have a summon to take out the pet) he then has a 120 skill point advantage over the tamer.

What's a tamer gonna do with a discorded or peaced pet? If you stay around the pet waiting for peace to wear off, you'll be dead before that happens. If you stick around the pet with it discorded, it'll be dead quick.

you are thinking UO like its paper rock scissors. First off even maxed a bards chances of success are not 100%, on the otherhand the tamer is almost never going to fail an 'all kill'. A mage tamer could dispel your summon (which couldn't kill even a discorded dragon anyways). A ninja tamer can throw darts at you all day long and keep all killing until it succeeds. If the pet is taking too much heat he can animal form go a couple screens away and re log the pet, which will remove your discord. This can be repeated until the tamer runs out of bandies. So a persistent tamer will always kill a lone bard.

And a tamer-bard could shred your ninja-tamer. 240 of the bard's points are cancelling out 360 of your points. That leaves 480 of his points to beat 360 of your points.

Whatever somebody does with those points is up to them.

You can't have your mage-tamer dispel the EVs off your dragon, then pretend they don't exist for your ninja-tamer. A bard with a slayer instrument, or even a GM instrument, isn't going to have much trouble with your pets.

Yeah, but the bard skills are useless in non pet pvp, thus I give it to tamers overall.

So did you get to my stuff or could you even see it from the crazy amount of corpses I left behind? The goal of the thread wasn't to retrieve my items or place blame on templates. It was simply to see if you had the same problem I had if you did get them, or try to get them.
