Is there any of you out there that would prefer Parry Mage rather then Scribe Mage for fel yew fighting? How would you last very long if you are a parry scribe mage. You would have to go mage wep and not be able to chug, or ud have to lose your meditation for parry in which your stats would already have to be buffed so high your intel would take a hit.
Is parry mage with only 30 SDI better then scribe mage with 40 SDI? I haven't pvped much latelly with this Scribe wrestle mage template I picked up. from what I have noticed though is it's insane with pots. But as soon as I get another dexer on me or if I get dismounted with a second person on me i'm done. I can't really fight a mage and dexer at the same time either. I don't know if parry is good enough to lose the scribe is all i'm saying.
120mage
120eval
120resist
120parry
100anatomy
100scribe
40med
Now you have only 40 meditation, but you use a + skill ring and an orc brute talismen to get med up to 60. the Orc Brute talismen has +12 skill points, 7 to anatomy and 5 to resist spell. Med goes from 40 to 52 then.. and add in at minimum 8 skill points on ring and you have 60 meditation. I don't play elf but you could use those 10 meditation legs perhaps.. not sure the resists on it.
Anyways this has parry at 120 so thats 35% block. You have anatomy so you can run an open hand and a shield, this is also constant defense meaning no dexxer can disarm your defense away. The hardest part I am seeing is getting the 30 sdi, i ran this temp before this new pub went threw, but I don't think it would be impossible. Light's Rampart shield will help this a lot, it has 13-15 cold resist and 3-4 in all other resists along with the 20 DCI, since this shield will never come off threw a disarm you can rely on it for resistances. This helps make the suit a little nicer.
As for stats, that is the achilles heel of a parry mage, so try to get 50 EP on the suit, this will help get the stats up higher. Then you go with increases, a crimson is better then a tangle in my opinion, but tangle has more overall stats. Go for mana increases, I've found that with templates that are hard on stats and lower on med you will need a higher mana pool. You will run out of mana but the idea is you make that dump count. This is not a dueling temp, you will not run to yew and 1 v 1 a mage for 10 minutes.. it's not going to happen, it's meant to fight disarm archers mostly.
Know your enemies also, I knew going in that 75% of the guys I was going to fight had no resist spell. That means to me that I will have as much mana as I want threw mana vampire. Also use summons, I get a lot of crap for summoning up deamons and stuff all the time.. if you can do it why not? If your opponent is going to use his template then use yours. Mostly dexxers complain about this, but thats because they wish they could summon up a deamon when ever they want.
