Which Gender are UO players?

I've always contended UO has higher than average female (real females!) players than most other games. (Hey the house decorating is like having dollhouses after all*grins*).

I have never understood why Mythic doesn't take advantage of the appeal and market it to females in some non-traditional gaming venues.

I created my first female character in UO back in 1998, because I got PK'd a lot less as a female avatar while out chopping wood. The same with my female warrior.

There was a online-gaming survey a few years ago that asked which gender players' avatars were compared to their real life gender. The answer was somewhat surprising with about 75% of the real-life males having at least one female avatar, but more than 75% of real-life females had NO male avatars. At that time, much less than 50% of online-gamers were female, and I am sure these numbers will change with time.

What hmmmm... ? <g> It's called roleplaying and is easy to do since all us guys have been around women and see how they behave. I doubt any of us really understand why they behave that way, but thats all part of being Martains and dealing with Venus's from that other planet.

I am a woman and I play almost exclusively females. I have one male character who is a bard and mostly there in case my husband ever wishes to play my account when I want to mess around with his account. My husband has exclusively males and swears he will never be a girl in game. He also doesn't read stratics so that's one more male that could be added to the poll.

I play both genders as I said,
cuz I grew up around 14 male cousins,
with only 4 of us being girls cousins.

I grew up in a neighborhood full of more lil boys
than girls, and I had a brother too.
Probably why I grew up playin football more than with dolls. hehe

So it is not hard for me to play male or female chrs. both, in a game.
I even fathom some menfolk more than us womenfolk !
Maybe cuz men are *simpler minded* hehe
Us women are complex moody creatures, ya know !

As for men understanding women ....
soon as we women, fathom or understand other women or ourselves,
then yall can have a try, at it. hahaha
