its a game item.. how can that be offensive...It was offensive to many of us.
The ones that work out of the U.S. office are probably working from home. Their office has probably been closed all week because of the massive amounts of snow that have fallen on that area lately. If they need to use a special client for some of their work and don't have it installed on a laptop computer or their home computer, they may be limited in what they've been able to do lately. If their power at home has been out for a few days, they probably aren't worrying a whole lot about things related to UO. They probably hope we will be understanding of the situation and cut them just a wee bit of slack. The real question is this...Wheres the Devs?
Perhaps, but I remember when bacon first appeared in the valentines gifts. Players were at first baffled, then went googling in search of a reason bacon would be included. It was hilarious how many theories were offered and I learned more useless knowledge about bacon's association with Valentines Day than I ever thought was imaginable. Of course, the Devs later sheepishly admitted it was a mistake, but it was still interesting how it all played out.It was a dumb 'in joke' and a testament to the coding oversights of the team.
How does this relate to their lack of interaction since BEFORE the storm? The ones that work out of the U.S. office are probably working from home. Like others that have posted here this week, I strongly suspect the UO team is currently under some kind of a "gag order." After reading Chrissay's post yesterday that implied she couldn't come near here for three months after being laid off, I'm even more convinced something unusual is going on. EA is a public company and they just finished or may still be in the process of laying off people. Their financial year wraps up at the end of March. I'm sure there are plenty of people inside and outside of the company that don't want to run the risk of having unhappy insiders posting in an official or quasi-official capacity anywhere in a way that even hints at further problems in the company that may have been exacerbated by the layoffs. I'm sure there are people on the UO team that would love to communicate with us, but not at the risk of losing their jobs. How does this relate to their lack of interaction since BEFORE the storm?
