Where do you get Recipe Books From?

This is probably a really dumb question, but where do recipe books come from? This is especially dumb since one of my toons has one, but for the life of me I don't know how I got it. I Googled it and couldn't find anything useful.

Also, since someone is hopefully reading this, does anyone know if adding a recipe to a recipe book removes the "Shard Bound" status. My situation is that I selected a Voidbane Elixer recipe on Origin and want to transfer it to my home shard. The recipe itself doesn't say Shard Bound but I can't transfer with it. I'm maybe hoping that I could put it in a recipe book and transfer it that way. I believe if worse comes to worse I could eat it and transfer, but I'd rather have a different character on the same account eat it instead of playing around with soul stones.

they were in the 2018 holiday token. Not sure if they also appeared in other gifts. Depending on your shard they should also be able to be found on vendor search,

Not sure about the transfer. You could try to put it in the book and transfer to TC, I believe that would flag in case it's not possible, and do the same to the recipe as it would to any other shards.
