When does the auction really end?

I'm looking at the lottery stone right now and it shows 1 day left. So, that would make it Saturday at about this time.

But, last week they said the Origin lottery really ended after the downtime on Sunday.

So, without having any official answer on this I'm going to guess the real answer is the lottery will end in 2 days rather than the 1 day it shows on the stone.

What I'm saying is that we have less than a day, and it would make sense to have it do its thing when the servers come back from daily maintenance.

I'd add that I have seen a ton of naked and young characters running around. The cross sharders are in full force everywhere.

Thanks to the cross sharding people, my chances of winning on those north plots are like 1 in 300+.... SO, pretty much no chance.

if it helps on test it said less than 1 day then next day it said it will occur at server up. then at server up it gave them out. it was 2 days after 1 day warning.

If you buy all 12 tickets on tram and fel for the north plots, that's 24 chances per char.

The north ones aren't going to be worth that much - you just watch, they'll be sold for pretty cheap when it comes down to it, because you only have 30 days to place, and if they don't place it they lose it, and a lot of people probably aren't willing to tie an account to those things if they are looking to resell.

I think there will be a lot of movement on these things - look at the Origin winning tickets that ended up on LS vendors.

There are people on LS camping the tombstones. That is both weird and wonderful, reminds me of a few events in the past.

The people camping those things seem to be all dressed the same - dark blue leather, bone helment, bone harvester, sandals, one word names (Hyman, Lucien, etc.) and all are first names. They'll be off their horse near the tombstone, but if you get close, they hop back on. I've seen three of them moving around or camped near tombstones, all dressed the same.

It's probably just one person multiboxing, but still amusing if they are thinking it will give them an edge or that it will intimidate others.

I think I figured out - they keep dismounting themselves by accident which is why they keep popping back on. They are probably constantly checking the ticket totals.

I've seen a ton of those guys running the same rout around the "tombstones" for about an hour now. Each one looks exactly the same. Every time they pass one of the north 12 they add 1 to it's number. Every time they pass one of the other 10 they add about 50 tickets. It's totally a scripter.

The "days" in the timer is based on the start of the lottery, but the "end" is based on the first SERVER DOWN time after the timer runs out.

Say, you had a shard that had the server patch go in at 2 PM, and runs 7 days. The 7 days would "run out" at 2 PM, but the actual end of the sales will be at 5 am the next morning (or whatever the normal server down maintenance time is for the shard.

ON THE OTHER HAND, if where one shard's lottery started early after a crash is an indication, if a shard chashed AFTER the timer runs out, but before normal maintenance, the sales will probably end at the point of the crash (minus whatever time is lost in the crash), and the tickets be awarded when the shard server reboots from the crash.

you are incorrect.

that was for the origin install.

mythic phoneix posted that on april 2. read his post date. nothing to do with the rest of the production shards as we started a different day of the week than them.

that post has nothing to do with us, ours didnt start on the same day as origins remember they got to be first as normal. before any of us. so count 10days from server up of it being implemented to production shards and my math says server up or just after on saturday.

So the question still remains, WHEN will the lottery end for all the rest of the shards other than Orign ?

Did I forget to mention that you are allowed to apply the logic to your own shard!
Iam pretty sure the draw will take place at maintenance... which day Iam sure you will able to guess if it says 1 day or less = next maintenance

and the auction was for 10 days. which would make the drawing be 10 days from march 31 at server up. today is the 9th.

so today server up.

yes because your server down is at 12 midnight which was 4-1-11. so your downtime at midnight tonight would make sense right?

drachenfels is european shard no? if so than midnight will or should be your drawing at server down.

I STATE Server maintenance, and you attack me claiming I said something else.

You REALLY need to get your biological processor checked....

BTW, the link Zayin666 provided and the other posts are the basis for this...

1. Origin got it at an odd time. Devs stated that the drawing wouldn't end until server down, not the time stated.
2. Another shard crashed hours before its server maintenence. Because the "start on reboot" was already coded in, it coming back up from the crash started its sale of tickets early. So, your belief that all shards but Origin started on normal maintenence was a fallacy.

It would appear from these two events that...
a. The ticket sales were programmed to start at a set time (the server maintenance. on the start day).
b. Sales would continue a set number of days, with the sales ending with the first server down after the X-date is reached.
c. Numerous events in the past 13 years have followed the same pattern. The event has a set start date, but doesn't start until a maintenance; it then either ends at midnight (mostly, trick or treat, and I think the first mutant turkey event had the turkeys stop spawning that way), or server maintenance that morning (nearly everything else).
d. As Origin does NOT have different server code than the other regular shards, since it was coded to run to server down after the scheduled deadline passed, then the other shards should run to server down, after the time expires, as well.

Does logic really seem so illogical to you?
