I like an Ornate Axe for swords, and either a composite bow or a Light or Heavy crossbow. I can't really decide which mace weapon I like. I sort of waffle because I need 2-handed weapons for the sammy-pal macer, and I don't even know which 2-handed mace weapon is the best.

This one. I use it for everything.
Before pub 60, I had a similar crossbow, but it isn't anywhere near so good now.
My samurai swordsman is rather partial to rune blades (high DPS and disarm) and katana (armor ignore).
And my tamer's favorite weapon is a rune beetle.

The only thing better would be maxed out intensities and maybe SSI instead of Stamina Leech. No weapon skill needed. Death Strike still applies without Tactics. Lightning and not Fireball or Magic Arrow. Perfect for my needs.
War fork is the wep of preference. Getting a bleed off for guys like Chad is mmmmmjuicy.
Most old weps mods are irrelevant now since imbuing will make new "favorite" weps for 90% of the current pvp'ers.
Let me know when you get your "supposed" new temp done Rich so I can slap it around a lil and make you use your race change token.

Its going to require a race change temp to start with...just need to finish a few skills of first. It probs wont work but should be fun.
I made a cpl gargs, but I can't get past the inability to convert so many valuable pieces to garg armor. No rbc, fey legs, armor of fort, none of the headgear (folded steels, mace n shields, spirit of the totem, hunters headdress), stormgrips. Plus no crimmy, sash (for those that can afford them), int boots.
It's just a huge deficit imo. Not to mention no med on the earrings/necklaces right now, although that will be fixed shortly (probably).
Sure it "can" be done, but what's the payoff? No mount needed for new players? Five slot pets and you can fly? It's not like the throwing weps are overpowered. They're just another skill, and yes the mortal/AI wep is the juicy one that caught my eye also, but to hit the 35 AI you'll need more than just tacts and di because the base damage on the wep is so low.
Not sure if anyone provided an answer to the OP yet about 2-handed maces, but most people just use Diamond Maces because they have great DPS. After that, it depends on the situation really, like whether you PvP, or PvM.

got enough mana for 4 AI's so guess what happens to opponents who does not pot lol
Gonna spend some more Val hammers to see if i can get some mana leech onto a katana like this.
I'm not really a fan of the imbued items because they cannot become anywhere near as good as runic weapons.

Barrett Model 99 in 0.416 caliber, although I wouldn't turn down the .50 cal. I sold a .50 caliber to a customer last year who shot a deer at 900 yards on his brother's farm... I won't post the details, but he didn't have to clean it. He hit it on the first shot. He made a standing offer to anyone at the gun store to go shoot the BMG, just have to buy the ammo (at $4.50 a shot!).
On Military Channel - Future Weapons:
In a second season episode of Future Weapons the host (Richard Machowicz, a former Navy SEAL) engages in a shooting competition with another sniper. "Mack" achieves a cold-bore first-shot "kill" at 2,500 yards (2,286 m) using a .416 Barrett Model 99 rifle while his competition, using a .50 BMG, required 3 shots to achieve a "kill".
Now, THAT'S a real weapon!

My Soul Seeker holds a special place in my (enemy's) heart. 
Why not barrets expirimental 119? It's a modified .50 to fire 25mm grenade rounds, currently, it's recoil would destroy your shoulder... hence why it's expirimental. and by destroy i dont' mean, "ow" I mean. OH MY GOD SO MANY PIECES!

My favorite weapon IRL is the longsword but in UO they got some weird idea that they're terribly slow.
So, I like the Longsword/Broadsword and the Viking Sword but they all suck in regards to speed & damage so I never use them. Was hoping one day legacy weapons would get a ML style buff but it appears it'll never happen.
I also like the Dread Sword/Stone War Sword they added but it's the same issues with those.
Basically, my favorite weapons are ones I never use. :/

Why? Because I always have been a kryss user. I became Grandmaster Fencer back in 1998, when fighting skills were quite imbalanced and fencing was a totally useless skill. I probably was the first GM Fencer on Catskills. I could hardly kill an Ettin with my kryss, but I learned it nevertheless, cause it was the weapon that suited my pirate character best.
A few months later, skills were re-balanced and fencing suddenly had become a very powerful skill with the introduction of swing speed. Nobody used fencing, and I managed to surprise quite a few landlubbers until people figured out that fencing now was a cool skill. I remember quite well that the old-old-school PvPers back then were whining about the new class of "dex monkeys".

I have always had a fondness for Katana's in UO, my poisoner uses a Kryss and my tamer uses a Cu Sidhe when ever possible.
